About Julianne Fletcher
In this section, Homeaway says I should tell you about myself. So, here's my life story (the Reader's Digest version.) I was born at Detroit Osteopathic Hospital on Christmas day in 1948. From there, I moved to Brighton, Howell, Kalamazoo, Royal Oak, Lansing and Washington D.C. When I was a little girl (five or so) I came home from school and told my parents I had decided what to do when I grew up - I was "going to travel to every continent on the planet." My dad enjoyed telling people, "All our kids are ambitious. Their interests? Joan - teaching. Marilou - dancing. Walter - architecture. Julie's life goal is to go on vacation." So, if you're here, you're my kind of person. As an adult, I did find it necessary to finance my vacations with 'day jobs' - usually more than one. I loved my work for 32 years and then I 'retired'.....to a resort town!
Julianne Fletcher purchased this Cabin in 2009
Why Julianne Fletcher chose Saugatuck
Why did we buy this property? .....because Knucklehead had to go potty. True story. My late husband (Howard) and I lived in Washington at the time. We were visiting family in G.R. and came to Saugatuck for lunch. On our way out of town, our Shih Tzu (called Knucklehead) expressed an interest in using the facilities. When we pulled off the road, Howard noticed the model at Kingfisher Cove and suggested we check it out. Immediately after he crossed the threshold, Howard exclaimed, "Wow! I want one of these!" I was flabbergasted. I said, "But....eh...Howard! We can't buy a house! We came for lunch - lunch, Howard - we came for LUNCH!" It was the most precipitous decision either of us ever made - and the best! No matter the season, the weather or circumstances, this cabin's living room still gives me a big, reassuring "hug" the second I walk in the front door. There are no references for this property because 2016 is the first year I've posted it online. During past summers, I have rented is occasionally and only by word of mouth. Having said that, I do own another property, which does have an online record. To check out out my 'landlord modus operandi,' take a look at the recommendations for listing number 3651848.
What makes this Cabin unique
In this space, my job is to tell you one of the "unique benefits" of 3674 Kingfisher Cove. Here's one: When we bought this place, we decided to furnish 100% of it with recycled and "repurposed" items. We did it. Some are family things. Others are from eBay, Craigslist, second hand stores, estate sales and garage sales. When describing the decor, guests use descriptors such as 'classy' and 'high end,' yet our footprint from all these furnishings is - zip - zero - nada - nothin'. Old stuff is better. My early 20th century oak time clock is a perfect example.I bought it at an East Lansing garage sale in 1974 and it has never let me down. It has been precisely twenty minutes after eight for the past 37 years. Talk about reliability. Your clocks probably tell you what time it IS. Mine tells what time it's NOT and it's only wrong twice a day. Some people think my clock has missed the central message of its calling but as an old sage from "Chicago" once asked, "Does anybody really know what time it is? Does anybody really care?"

Summer Family Trip
We very much enjoyed our stay at Kingfisher Cove. The cabin is clean, bright and homey and enjoys the use of a pool and access to Goshorn Lake. We liked the ability to walk to various local attractions, while others (Downtown Saugatuck/Douglas, Oval Beach, Saugatuck Dunes, Fennville, Holland and Grand Rapids) are a short drive away. Julianne is extremely quick to respond to owner inquiries.
Great place for families
Good setting for families. Near to many attractions. The cabin was well stocked with dishes, silverware and cookware. It is very attractive with African art, creative touches and high end furnishings.
Only big complaint was that there was no "welcome package" with instructions for turning on and off fans, using fireplace and some tourist brochures. Thank you, we enjoyed our stay.
Great vacation cabin
The cabin is nicely decorated, kitchen well stocked, everything was clean and the beds were super comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our short visit.
The cabin is very comfortable and clean
Loved staying at this cabin as we have visited this area many times in the past, this was however are first time staying at Kingfisher cove cabin, was not disappointed !! The cabin was very quaint and decorated very nicely , It's like staying in someone's home, rather than a rental
Our cabin at Kingfisher was excellent for the 2 of us plus when our son & his family of 4 visited!
The property is quiet, has a community pool and is minutes away from downtown Saugatuck. It is also 10 minutes from Oval Beach on Lake Michigan. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!!
This was amazing!!
My family enjoyed this property and the area so much. The owner was so kind , helpful and considerate. She got back to me in such a timely fashion with any questions that I had. I would not hesitate to stay here again. This was close to town, the lake, nice lake the property area is on and a nice pool and even more than that the owner is great!!!!
Thank you again, Julia
