|Minimum Stay||3 - 5 nights|
On the second floor of a charming building dating back to the year 1900, in the center of Rome, the apartment has 2 large and bright bedrooms (one with 1 king bed and one with 2 twins beds to be joined if needed) overlooking the green and peaceful inner courtyard. The living, with a 3 seater sofa bed (comfortably sleeps 2 adults), TV set and a dining table for 6, is perfect to chill out with your family and friends. And if you'd like to experience home-made Italian cuisine, a fully equipped kitchen is at your disposal (oil, spices, sugar and coffee are always available). There are 2 bathrooms: a full bathroom with bath tub, bidet and double wash-basins (definitely useful, especially with children), plus a smallest service bathroom with sink, wc and washing machine.
Children are welcome: toys, books and other amenities are available for them! :-)
The apartment is decorated with original elements of Italian design by Artemide, Flos, Kartell, first among everything the Arco lamp by Castiglioni. You will find pieces of Italian art of the 70s, of painters such as Sarnari, Vespignani, Uncini (these artists were the highlights of a recent exhibition at the Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome).
Very central, Elizabeth House is located in the Rione Esquilino, nearby Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, in a walking distance from the Colosseum and the Roman Forum (10-15 mins walk). This area is alive, dynamic, full of shops, bakeries, groceries, bar and restaurants and is perfectly served by bus and 2 lines of metro (the closest stop, Vittorio Emanuele, is at a couple of steps from the front door). Right around the corner from the central train station, Termini, it makes day-trips to nearby cities such as Florence and Naples very simple.
Hello! My name is Chiara, I'm a tour guide in Rome, and few years ago I've started renting apartments in the city centre.
My experience and knowledge of my native city will make the difference in your stay in Rome!
We stayed here during a recent visit to Rome and would highly recommend it! The apartment is in an ideal location to use as a base to explore the entire city. There was plenty of space and everything was very comfortable and clean. Chiara is an excellent host and was very responsive and helpful. She provided not only a great place to stay, but also a wealth of information about Rome to use as a reference during our stay. We would stay here again!
Our family with 3 kids (8, 10, 11) had happily stayed in this spacious and cozy apartment for 8 days. With nice decorations, quite well equipped kitchen, large and quite bedrooms, the apartment made us feel like we were in our own home. Just next to a metro station (line A), walking distance to food shops and markets, it is very easy if you want to cook your own meals here. Internet connection worked well. Chiara is so attentive and helpful with lots of good tips at hands. We would love to go back to the apartment next time we visit Rome.
I don’t hesitate to recommend the Elizabeth House Apartment because we had a most enjoyable week there. We appreciated the space and comfort as well as the facilities and location. Chiara communicated in a helpful and clear manner both before we arrived and on the day of arrival. Unlike other recent guests we did not have quiet neighbours: we imagined people in the apartment above us must have been renovating as we were disturbed almost everynight of our week long stay by frequent furniture movement, some nights until 2am. Chiara was prompt and sincere in her efforts to change the neighbours behavior but the effect of her requests was limited.
We took the opportunity provided by Chiarra to have private tours with her in Trastaverre and the Vatican and found our time with her to be easy as well as fascinating and very enjoyable.
I loved this apartment ! I would definitely go back !!
Chiara was very helpful giving us information about how to get around in Rome and even helped us book our tickets to visit the Vatican Museum!
Thanks Chiara....hope to see you soon!
This was a great oasis just a few (12) minutes away walking from Termini station and easy walking distance to The Colloseum. Spacious, clean, warm, fully-functional kitchen, two private bedrooms and a semi-private living room with pullout sofabed. The décor of the apartment is very modern and tasteful. Nice apartment building, “pizza al taglio" downstairs was perfect for take-out and cooking in the kitchen was great too. Chiara was a great hostess, who was waiting for us outside and welcomed us to Elizabeth House. She provided lots of great restaurant ideas, and responded quickly to resolve a problem with the wi-fi. We plan and going back for a few days soon. Grazie Chiara!
This flat exceeded our expectations. I traveled with my husband, 4 year old child and both my parents. Our criteria for finding a place to stay was spacious, quiet and private with bedrooms separate from living room/kitchen, not to mention central to all Roman sites. The flat had a large footprint with bedrooms completely separate from living quarters. The bedrooms all overlook a lovely courtyard (not the street) and the neighbors were almost completely unheard from. The flat came fully stocked with all essentials, including full kitchen, washing machine and WiFi internet. The Colosseum was about a 10 min walk, Termini station a 5 min walk, Spanish Steps about a 30 min walk...virtually all the major central Rome sites within easy walking distance.
Chiara was very responsive before, during and after our stay. She arranged a car to pick us up at the airport which was seamlessly easy and much appreciated after being on a plane for 12.5 hours! We also had a private tour of the Vatican City arranged by Chiara and it was wonderful, even with a 4 year old! Highly recommend a private tour of any of the sites Chiara offers.
A wonderful stay and experience all around!
One note, carry cash in Euros! We were slightly unprepared to have to use cash in so many instances in Rome, including the car transportation from the airport. Most little grocery stores, gelaterias, cabs, etc only take cash, not credit cards. Also, most museums require reservations. Call the international number before your trip...museums book up weeks in advance.
The apartment is located right in front of St. Mary Major Basilica, it is between the Esquiline and the Rione Monti.
Esquiline is a multi-ethnic and commercial district, where you can find several restaurants (TRATTORIA MONTI, for instance, is at the end of the street of Alice House and is simply amazing: genuine home made cousine! supermarkets, bakeries (PANELLA in via Merulana is very good and famous!), ice cream/gelato, groceries and so on; is also close to Termini Station (useful because of the 2 lines of metro and the several bus lines) and Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II, where you can find every day the large, colourful and famous ESQUILINE MARKET.
Rione Monti (10 mins walk from the apartment!) is one of the most ancient district of the city, located between via Cavour, via Nazionale and the Colosseum. It's the neighbourhood for the cool, the young, the vintage, the eclectic; those who want a serving of cobblestone, antique and artisans, with a side order of beautiful brooding artist. Monti is full of lovely hosteria, wine bar, shops and so on!
