With Oxford Street, Regent Street, Soho, Tottenham Court Road, Leicester Square and London’s theatre district just round the corner, this exceptional property is perfectly situated for you to get the most out of your London stay.
Have all the creature comforts and safety of home in this quiet, five star apartment whilst enjoying everything London life has to offer on your door step. Look out of huge Queen reception room and you will see the iconic BT Tower. With this as your landmark you will never get lost finding your way home from anywhere in central London. At the end of the road to the right is Oxford Street, shopping heaven, and to the left is the beautiful Regents Park. A better, more central and accessible London location is hard to imagine.
The apartment is situated on a quiet, one way, residential street running parallel to Great Portland Street with its wonderful eclectic mix of cafes, bars and restaurants. Oxford Circus is just five minutes walk away. For those who like to keep active there are numerous gyms and yoga studios just round the corner. Even Lord's Cricket Ground is within walking distance. This peaceful residential oasis sits right in the heart of everything London has to offer, yet remains wonderfully free from unwanted noise and late night revelers when you want to relax and sleep after a hard days sightseeing.
The apartment is located on the second floor of a Regency Mansion block within a historical conservation area of London's West End.
The property has been refurbished to a truly five star standard with a brand new designer kitchen, luxury pure wool carpets throughout, a handmade king size bed (US Queen)and fine 400 thread count linens. The hand picked pieces of designer furniture are both exquisite and comfortable.
The apartment has all new appliances such as microwave, dishwasher, washer/dryer, single oven, gas hob, large fridge freezer and a Vita mix. Free high speed Wi Fi is available. UK Apple chargers for IPhone 4, IPad 2 and Macbook Pro laptops are also provided as well as a brand new, powerful hairdryer.
The bedroom houses a fabulous, hand made, UK king size bed (US Queen) with luxury 400 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets and a top quality mattress for a wonderful nights sleep. Guest dressing gown, slippers and plenty of fluffy towels are provided along with a selection of luxury toiletries.
The bathroom, whilst compact, provides both a bath tub and a shower facility.
Due to the exceptionally high standard of accommodation it is only suitable for a maximum of two non smoking adult guests. It is a non smoking, no pet property. There is no elevator and there are four short flights of stairs up to the property from the communal entrance.

The apartment is located in Fitzrovia, in the heart of London’s West End. Once home to writers such as Virginia Woolf and George Bernard Shaw and more recently Lady Gaga, Madonna and Guy Ritchie. Numerous media companies and the headquarters of the BBC are based in the area, hence its vibrant, celebrity filled buzz.
Oxford Street (five minutes walk away) is the mecca of shopping in London. There are hundreds of stores running from Marble Arch to Tottenham Court Road with the most expensive found on New Bond Street, South Molton Street, Saville Row and Conduit Street.
London’s West End offers theatre, music, comedy bars and restaurants. Take a wander down Wardour Street, Dean Street, Shaftesbury Avenue and the Haymarket to experience the centre of nightlife in London.
Shoppers will also enjoy the Covent Garden markets and boutiques in Soho and Carnaby Street. For some true British style head to Liberty of London (about ten minutes walk from the flat), full of beautifully-designed goods housed in its original Tudor building. On Regent Street, you'll find Hamleys, which claims to have been the finest toy shop in the world for the last 250 years.
Westminster describes the area around the Palace of Westminster (also known as the Houses of Parliament) and is home to many of London’s prestigious monuments and attractions. Enjoy the Royal Parks; St James's Park, Green Park & Hyde Park, Buckingham Palace, the home of the Queen and St James's Palace, situated in Pall Mall.
Attractions within walking distance of the flat include Buckingham Palace, The British Museum, The London Eye, Houses of Parliament, Leicester Square, Covent Garden, Soho, Oxford Street, Tottenham Court Road, Trafalgar Square, The National Gallery, The British Museum, Somerset House, the Royal Parks and Regents Park.
The apartment is so well located that you can walk to most of London's main attractions. If you find yourself getting weary simply jump into a London Black cab, hop onto a double decker bus or take the London Underground to explore further afield.
All the London Underground lines (known as The Tube) are easily accessible, with both Oxford Circus, Great Portland Street and Goodge Street Tube Stations located a few minutes walk from the flat. If you fancy overground travel, buses to the whole of the rest of London are available on Oxford Street, just at the end of the road. The mainline London railway stations of Euston and Kings Cross are a couple of stops on the Tube away or a few minutes in a cab. If you are traveling from Heathrow Airport you can take the Paddington Express into central London and be at the flat in less than thirty minutes.

Recommendations for local restaurants and bars.
There are so many restaurants to try in the area and so many different cuisines we wouldn't want to limit your exploration, however here are a few that we thoroughly enjoy.
For breakfast try the Riding House Cafe on Great Titchfield Street itself. We choose to go early because it can get very busy during the lunchtime and evening periods as it is so close to the BBC headquarters, but for breakfast and a bit of celebrity spotting it can be a good place.
There is also a lovely fish restaurant called Bonnie Gull at 21 Foley Street. Also the Thai River on Foley Street, just before the fish restaurant, has very good food and is great if you want a quiet meal.
If you are really in the mood for something special and don't mind splashing out we can highly recommend the Langham Hotel for afternoon tea. (n.b. not to be confused with the Langham Court Hotel opposite the Yorkshire Grey Pub on Langham Street) It will cost you £40 per head but it's an experience well worth doing. The Langham Hotel bar is also a brilliant place to go for an evening drink, it's twice the price of a London pub but it’s a wonderful experience and really worth a visit. Get a seat at the bar and watch the highly professional bar tenders mix cocktails like a cabaret!

She welcomed me with a gentle warmth when I moved to London that will stay with me for months, warmth in January:) A fantastic host and the flat reflects it. Two of us stayed five nights in this well-appointed, conveniently located apartment. The property is attractively furnished and decorated and, in particular, has a stylish and functional kitchen with quality appliances. Importantly for the traveler, there is a combination washer-dryer which works well. The A/V setup is a a good one, and the internet is fast and reliable. We found that the central heating was very effective, to the point where we could have used a lighter-weight bedding option. The nearest tube stations are 5-10 minutes walk, depending on the direction you're going. A taxi or Uber to/from Paddington Station costs about GBP 7.
The bathroom is clean and attractive but, in keeping with the style of the property, it is small. However, we managed to enjoy hot showers and baths throughout our stay. The only other thing we'd note is that the flat is on the second floor (up two flights of stairs) and, while it was no problem for us, it might be a factor for some people. On the plus side, the owner provides kitchen and bathroom consumables, which is a real plus for the traveler and a contrast to many properties. There is a Tesco Express a couple of minutes from the front door and this proximity, taken with the basic provisions in the kitchen, means that one wastes a minimum of holiday time in getting setup.
Our dealings with the owner were very friendly and professional, and we appreciated the personal reception and briefing on arrival, and the late check-out on the last day. Our deposit was returned promptly - before we left the UK on the day of check-out, in fact. We would not hesitate to book the apartment again for a stay in Fitzrovia.
The location of the flat couldn't be better. It's on a residential street but there are restaurants and shops around the corner, down the street, with a variety of cuisines and prices all within a 10 minute walk. Because it's so close to major transportation hubs, everything on the central map could be easily navigated from Mary's apartment.
The apartment is exactly as pictured and described with a large and cozy living room that we literally lived in. THe bed is sturdy and comfortable and the bedroom is pleasantly decorated with enough linens and towels provided to make oneself fell pampered and indulged. The bathroom is indeed small but once you get the hang of it, it works ok. The kitchen is more than adequately outfitted and we often ate one meal a day in the apartment and felt completely at home.
At home....that's the key. After a day of touring, when we finally turned the key into the door on Great Tichfield Street, we knew we were home.
We have been renting apartments in London almost annually for more than 20 years; our experience with this one was by far the worst. The most serious issue had to do with obtaining the return of our substantial security deposit. The owner first said we were responsible for damage to the carpet caused by the residue of flowers that her agent had left in the apartment; we responded that we had no responsibility for that damage. Then, two weeks later she made two additional claims for damage that she said were later discovered, contradicting her earlier statements to us that that the apartment was always carefully inspected, and all damage was, noted right after each renter had departed.
More seriously, for almost two months she refused to return any part of our deposit, demanding that we file our review of the apartment first. (Fortunately, our credit card issuer, with which we filed a dispute, did credit the full deposit back to our account, presumably finding that the owner’s action was not justified.)
These events led us to speculate that the glowing reviews posted by previous renters had effectively been coerced from people who were simply trying to ensure that their full security deposits were returned, since none of those reviews even mentioned any of the following deficiencies in this apartment.
• The listing claims there is a dining area with seating for four. There is no dining area! The only place to eat is at an adjustable height coffee table in the living room, to which one must drag up two easy chairs, neither of which was suitable for dining. (After two days the rental agent brought in two chairs from her home, which solved our problem, but they were removed when we departed.)
• The listing claims the apartment has air conditioning. It does not!
• The listing says that the apartment is up four short flights on stairs. Those flights were 10 stairs each, which we did not consider “short.” Getting to the apartment required much more climbing than we anticipated.
• The listing says that the apartment is a five minute walk to the Oxford Circus and Goodge Street tube stations. Walking briskly, it took us 12 minutes to reach each of them.
• The freezer was completely full when we arrived; there was not even room in it for one small bag.
• A dressmakers dummy in the small bedroom impaired access to the only rack available for hangars.
We loved staying in this flat - the location simply cannot be any better for navigating around town. The apartment is well appointed with all of the amenities you would expect and a few extras to make the stay comfortable, including a very nice coffee maker (pods available at Tesco across the street). Yes, the bathroom is small, but it isn't smaller than average for London or Manhattan - it is to be expected. Do watch out for the water temperature (in all of London) as it can get quite hot. The local dining options were great and ranged from quick bites (Pret/EAT and local cafes) to higher-end fine dining. Shopping was plentiful, museums and parks were close and easy to navigate. Overall, we had a great experience and would be happy to stay here again!
This flat was one of our favorites as my wife and I traveled around the UK. We booked a 5-night stay, but we wished we had stayed longer. As others have noted, the flat is stylish, the living room is spacious, the bed is extremely comfortable and the location is ideal. We felt that we were staying in a home that someone cared for and took pride in. After 5 nights, we were sorry to leave. Very highly recommended and we hope to stay here again.
We really enjoyed having this flat as a resting spot after exploring this part of London. The flat was quiet, spacious, and there were some wonderful restaurants nearby.
The furnishings were top notch, and the bed quite comfortable (especially after having spent more than a week sleeping elsewhere on a pull-out sofa).
We love to cook, and there was a large kitchen. Daniel was kind enough to invite us to use items in the pantry if we needed. Sadly, we found that to be difficult. Most of the items there were very much out of date, some having expired in 2010. It would be best to purchase items that you need from the nearby Tesco.
There were nice bottles of wine, and some milk and coconut water in the refrigerator on our arrival, which was quite thoughtful and appreciated after the long journey through the Channel Tunnel. There's a combination washer/dryer available and, for those not familiar, it's best to operate the unit with a smaller amount of clothing so that it's able to dry.
All in all, a very nice stay in a comfortable, well-located flat!
The reviews with blue stars are from VRBO guests but as we have also rented the property on another site we have imported over those guest reviews too and included them below. On both sites the flat has been unanimously awarded five stars in all categories.
