Quiet and Private But No Sandy Beach

  • 5 of 5

Expectations met.

Cabin:

The cabin is beautiful and definitely something special. We felt like it was just us on the lake, we never heard a dog bark or any kids besides our own. The bathroom is very nice and up to date. The kitchen has everything you could need to prepare meals. My 5 year old son asked several times if we could stay there forever.

Lake:

There are very few wide open views of the lake from the cabin or from the fire pit. The property is actually located on a point in front of a large island. The island makes for more of a riverfront setting. The water is always calm even when the wind picks up. I brought an inflatable boat and felt perfectly safe on the still water when the wind was gusty. I caught a 13 in. pike from the dock and saw other fishermen landing bass.

Lewiston area:

There is a grocery store, Ace Hardware and a very modern Rite Aid in which we found everything we needed. The Lewiston lodge is very close and a great place to have dinner or order a pizza for takeout. The Menu is a cute little breakfast place with a super friendly owner and staff. One of the best breakfasts I have ever had period!

Expectations not met:

There Is NO Sandy Beach. My son brought all his sand toys and was disappointed that he couldn't build a sandcastle. The swimming area is shallow and sandy but there is no sandy shoreline. The grass meets the water and is lined with large rocks. The water is crystal clear but there is lots of old plant matter settled on the bottom that gets stirred up when you take steps.

The third bedroom is actually the mud room with a fold out bed. This is the primary mode of entry from the parking area and from the patio and lake. We could not put our young daughter to bed in her portable crib and then continue to enter and exit while enjoying the lake with our son. We ended up putting the kids together in one bedroom.

We are definitely glad that we took a chance and tried this cabin and would definitely stay again.

Great Vacation

  • 5 of 5

This was my second trip to this home. Both stays were a week in length. The property is clean and well taken care of. Quiet vacation place. Has a huge lot with and great sandy water plus a dock for your boat. Fishing is slow but did manage to get a handful of bass-(released). Close to ORV trails. I'll be back. Thanks for the well needed vacation! Ed Lang Plymouth Mi

Nice house with comfortable beds and general seating. Plenty of seating available for everyone.

The lake is very clean water and nice. It would have been nice to use the row boat. The ors were locked in the garage which was unfortunate. Otherwise the owner was helpful and very responsive.

Adequate

  • 3 of 5

The lake looks nice, kitchen & bathrooms clean. The owners or prior renters have /had dogs and dog hair on couches, in/under beds. Cleaning people need to a better job in remaining cabin. Not a complaint just observation.

Clean, peaceful, many amenities

  • 5 of 5

Super clean, updated home with everything in working order. Great shallow beach area for kids, firepit near the water, dock for the boat with a sand bottom for the kids to jump off. About 3 ft deep. Bring a fan for hot nights! Close to groceries, a few restaurants. Highly recommended!!
