This place is amazing!!

The pictures can only tell you so much and once your there you will know you made the correct choice.

When we arrived the house had a new deck and hardwood floors as a extra bonus.

You are able to walk to the beach and to downtown.

I would stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a great vacation.

Never again.

Not a great week at all. The house had power issues. Okay, so maybe not the owners fault, but it had been happening prior to our stay. The power company was there with the owner upon our arrival. They could have cancelled our stay because they knew of the issue. I took my 85 year old folks. During the evening I had to take them to the bathrooms using a flashlight. The refrigerator would go out for hours at a time.

Like I said, not the owners fault, but still very expensive for all the issues. Would a resort still take your money if you had no power??

Also spent the first 3 days killing lots of ants in the house.. The owner was nice and brought ant killer for me to use. Just what I wanted to do on a vacation.

Not really much of a vacation.

Owner's Response: I'm a bit surprised by this review as both the owner and I reached out to these renters multiple times and they said that everything was good. I'm so sorry for your experience with the power outage but unfortunately we have no control over public utilities. There was a power problem at the home the week before and we had an electrician and SDG&E come out. The electrician replaced a whole bunch of stuff and SDG&E assured it was not their issue (we have no control over SDG&E because it's a public utility). The problem occurred the first few days of this renter's stay and we reached out to see if they wanted to move and they said they didn't. Miraculously the power issue stopped happening midway through their stay. After the renters checked out SDG&E discovered that they had an issue with the power pole outside the residence (they discovered problem when neighbors were also having issues). We would of been glad to refund their stay and have them move even though we had no control over the power issues. I spoke with renters multiple times and they never let me know about ants. We have an ant service that could of come out. In our rental agreement we ask that renters let us know about problems while they are staying so we can address them, not after they check out. We are deeply sorry about the power problem and we were assured that it was fixed before you checked in and we had no way to know that it was not fixed and wouldn't be figured out or fixed until the week after your stay. Unfortunately, we do our best to insure our guests have the best stay but we have no control over failure from public utility companies.

Wonderful oceanfront winter getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Our first impression as we walking into this house, was how clean it was! Even the big windows overlooking the ocean were sparkling. The beds and bedding were comfortable. The kitchen truly was well equipped....pots, pans, utensils, gadgets, dishes, glassware and more. This made for easy entertaining. After just a few days of our month long stay, we realized we had found THE house we wanted to return to for our winter getaways. The property managers were responsive and patient as we settled in. We definitely hope to return to 138 Neptune for years to come.

Great Stay on the beach in Encinitas!

  • 5 of 5

Just completed our stay with my wife, our 8-month old, and in-laws and couldn't have been happier with our experience. The house is in a perfect location as we walked into town daily and the view is incredible. We made sure we were home every night to see the sunset which was amazing.

It was about a 5 minute walk to Moonlight beach which was easy, even with the little one in tow. The house was exactly what we needed, clean, and had all the necessary amenities. Aspects of the house like the bathrooms could be renovated but perfectly fine for a beach house. Everything provided was of high quality unlike other VRBO properties I've stayed at, including the furniture, kitchen equipment, linens, etc. It was an added bonus that baby supplies like a pack-and-play, high chair, bouncy chair, etc. were available and great layout for little kids since it was a single floor with limited furniture and clutter.

Arianne and Massimo were very attentive, easy to get in touch with if we had any questions, and were happy to provide local recommendations. Extremely good value for the location especially taking in account the resale value of the property (just look on Zillows). House is located in a quiet neighborhood with limited space between properties, so definitely not the right fit for a younger group looking to party. Only negative I could think of is the cable package is very basic, so didn't have some popular channels like ESPN. In the end, we were probably better off since it forced us to spend time outside and explore SoCal! I would definitely rent this house again and recommend it to friends and family. Ignore the negative reviews on this property since it's clear the renters had unreasonable expectations or were the cause of the problems. Note there are trains that run through Encinitas which can be heard from the house, sometimes in the middle of the night, however the tracks are over half a mile away and the potential noise is not specific to this house. If you are a light sleeper and concerned about train noise, Encinitas in general is probably not the right location for you.

Primo Location and Quintessential Beach House

  • 5 of 5

This is the quintessential SoCal beach house. It's tidy and clean, simple, and the view and location cannot be beat. It was also a great value for the location and size of the property. In addition to proximity to the beach, there are also a number of restaurant choices that are walkable on 101. And despite being so close to the beach action and the beachy town of Encinitas, it was still really peaceful/quiet. We will look into staying here again when we are out in San Diego visiting family.

MID OCTOBER 2015 STAY

  • 5 of 5

This property is a good value. It is not a luxury unit but is adequately clean and comfortable. I have rented many beach homes…..from cheap to luxurious. This home is really nice without the unneeded extras and the cost that goes with them. We found moonlight beach to be the perfect distance for a stroll…..even with 4 children ages 2-7. The beach itself was very well maintained and in October….it was virtually empty. There is actually a beach on both sides of them home…..both a short walk in a cute and safe neighborhood. I liked this home and if I am in the area again….I will give them a call.
