We seriously had the time of our lives on this perfect (1st time NYC trip) celebration with our high school & college grad son & daughter. We'd never rented from vrbo (or any other similar site) but had talked to lots of people who had, so took the leap & it was perfect. The reviews & description from owners all proved absolutely true. The owners were great with communication & did exactly what they said they'd do. This apartment was a real treat – we were there for a NY experience & that's what we got. Plenty of great places in walking distance & the 1,2,3 train (basically) across the street ... we jumped in a felt at home in Manhattan within the 6 days we were there. We bought the 7 day pass for the 1,2,3 & went all over the place whenever we felt like it. The apartment was the perfect spot to "come home to" with the privacy & security of having the doorman & comfortable living arrangement with everything we needed. When we were there, it was clear that someone lived there parttime -- it's not 'empty' like a hotel -- but it didn't bother us. My husband & I had the master bedroom & the bed was super comfortable. Our daughter had the other BR & son slept on the hide-a-bed -- no complaints from them. One of our favorite things about the whole trip was the patio on top of the building. We went up the first morning (because we arrived late the night before) & were in awe of the "on top of the world" feeling we had. The view is awesome both morning & evening with rivers to the east & west of the building. The weather was perfect so it was a bit dream-like as a first time NYC visitor. Of all the trips we've taken through our lives, this one stands out in a very special way -- and we attribute a portion of it to this ideal "getaway" in the middle of the big city. It was worth every penny.
We loved every minute of our stay in the apartment. Located in a very secure building, the apartment was ideal for our stay and and had everything we required. The apartment was tidy and clean and we had no problems with anything during our stay.
Being only steps from the subway was a great bonus to this apartment. The rooftop deck was great, a bit cold in winter to use but perfect for photos of the skyline!
Being a first time user of VRBO we were a bit nervous about renting an apartment but the owner was very lovely and accommodating to all (and there were many!) of our questions about the apartment. We highly recommend the apartment for your trip!
My family of 4 stayed over the Thanksgiving Holiday and had an absolutly wonderful time! There were so many resteraunts, bars, coffee houses, and fantastic grocery markets within walking distance for the apartment. The 123 subway line was steps outside the door making getting anywhere in the city for sight seeing so easy. the rooftop deck had fantastic views, and the owners were so available for questions and help by phone call and text---they are very nice and accommodating. I would absolutly stay here again without hesitation, and reccommend it to anyone!
Three of us stayed in this Upper West Side apartment for six days and really felt like New Yorkers! We enjoyed a picnic in Central Park (just a couple of blocks away), three fabulous Broadway shows and a taping of The Letterman Show (just an easy subway ride on the handy 123 line that was steps away), cooked great dinners in the well-appointed kitchen, enjoyed cocktails on the fabulous rooftop deck while watching the sun set over the Hudson (even cooked out up there one evening on the grill), and two of us slept like babies in that comfy king bed. Everything was meticulously clean, beautifully appointed and very cozy. The West Side Market a couple of blocks up the street had everything you could want and then some, and the wine store was just around the corner. Melissa was a very accommodating, friendly and communicative host. The entire process was 5-Star! We loved it!! Can't wait to return. Excellent value.
A friend and I stayed here for two weeks on business. It was absolutely perfect for us. It is in the heart of the UWS, so there are tons of great shops and restaurants within walking distance, and it is ridiculously close to a large subway stop. The owners were extremely accommodating and even set up a mid-stay maid service for us since we were there for so long. It was clean and had everything we needed. My friend got the master bedroom, and I slept on the pull-out sofa in the second bedroom. It was very comfortable for a sofa bed and I didn't have any problems with it. There is also a crib in the second bedroom if you are traveling with little ones! We felt very safe there and enjoyed our stay very much.
Great building, great apartment, tastefully decorated, friendly and accommodating hostess, safe and interesting neighborhood with easy access to transport, Roof Deck, fairly priced.
Bedrooms are small, master bed is really high and quite soft.
We would not hesitate to stay here again. Those "cons" are nothing compared to how great the experience was.
Located one block away from the Hudson River and three blocks from Central Park. We are just steps away from the 1/2/3 express train stop and a block from the 96th St Crosstown bus - so you can get to Times Square in 10-minutes and downtown in 15 mins. Lots of bars, live music, restaurants, theaters and shopping can be found nearby - as well as wonderful paths for walking, running or hiking. Along the Hudson River - you can find a number of outdoor dining options, watch the sunset, or go kayaking or sailing. There's something for everyone in this neighborhood!
