Our dining table seats 4-people comfortably and can expand to seat 2-4 more. You'll also have access to our building's rooftop that offers a sun deck and gorgeous views of the Hudson River!
Melissa was an excellent host and explained everything from the start. She continued to check on us every so often to make sure there was nothing we needed. The apartment was safe and convenient to anything one could want, including the subway. It was easy to hail cabs just a few hundred feet from the door. The people in the building were very polite. There were two of us, but here was a fold out bed in the common room, so it could easily sleep more. I would go back!!
The apartment was in a great location being super super close to the subway! The apartment is the penthouse and has great views! Even a rooftop with panoramic views! They had all the amenities we needed for 4 adults and a toddler! Perfect apartment with comfy furniture and plenty of space! The foldout bed in the 2nd bedroom is not great but sofa beds rarely are so we didn't have high expectations. The building is beautiful with a super friendly staff. Melissa was in contact the whole time and checked in regularly to make sure we had everything we needed! Beautiful beautiful beautiful and worth every penny! We had a great visit! Thank you for lending us your home and we can't wait to visit again. Highly recommend to all visitors.
Great place, great location, helpful owner. I would recommend this place to friends and family.
This property is well maintained. The interior is updated and clean. The location is great. One block from the subway which we took everywhere! Great rooftop deck view of the city. Would highly recommend. Close to Columbia by subway if you are visiting the campus. Melissa was very helpful and accessible by text and email.
Our family of two adults, a teen and a "tween" stayed for 8 nights in Melissa's apartment at the end of June. It was a great experience. Melissa was great to deal with, provided some great tips and went above and beyond to ensure we could check in to the apartment even when we didn't arrive until 2 am due to delayed flights. The apartment has lovely inertia design and furniture and other amenities. Being in a doorman building and high up from the street ensured we always felt safe and meant we could leave the girls there happily while my husband and I went out for an adults dinner.
Our teenager slept on the sofa which she said was really comfortable and my younger one slept on the pull out sofa bed in the second bedroom. It was particular great having the two bathrooms.
The master bed is very high, but was extremely comfortable. The roof deck view was amazing.
Being less than 50 metres from the subway station access was also great, with the station giving us access to the 1, 2 and 3 lines.
I'd definitely recommend this apartment as a home away from home in the upper west side.
Thanks Melissa for sharing your lovely apartment.
We seriously had the time of our lives on this perfect (1st time NYC trip) celebration with our high school & college grad son & daughter. We'd never rented from vrbo (or any other similar site) but had talked to lots of people who had, so took the leap & it was perfect. The reviews & description from owners all proved absolutely true. The owners were great with communication & did exactly what they said they'd do. This apartment was a real treat – we were there for a NY experience & that's what we got. Plenty of great places in walking distance & the 1,2,3 train (basically) across the street ... we jumped in a felt at home in Manhattan within the 6 days we were there. We bought the 7 day pass for the 1,2,3 & went all over the place whenever we felt like it. The apartment was the perfect spot to "come home to" with the privacy & security of having the doorman & comfortable living arrangement with everything we needed. When we were there, it was clear that someone lived there parttime -- it's not 'empty' like a hotel -- but it didn't bother us. My husband & I had the master bedroom & the bed was super comfortable. Our daughter had the other BR & son slept on the hide-a-bed -- no complaints from them. One of our favorite things about the whole trip was the patio on top of the building. We went up the first morning (because we arrived late the night before) & were in awe of the "on top of the world" feeling we had. The view is awesome both morning & evening with rivers to the east & west of the building. The weather was perfect so it was a bit dream-like as a first time NYC visitor. Of all the trips we've taken through our lives, this one stands out in a very special way -- and we attribute a portion of it to this ideal "getaway" in the middle of the big city. It was worth every penny.
