The apartment is located in one of the historical sites of Florence: via Maggio, next to the Pitti Palace and the famous Boboli Garden and it's just a few minutes walk from Ponte Vecchio.
The street itself has always been the street of the antique shops in Florence, however, since it's only a short walk from the historical square of Santo Spirito, the area is surrounded by typical local restaurants and by many other shops for each type of need.
The Palace, though very old, in fact it belonged to the Corsini family until the XIXth century and then to the Rosselli del Turco family it is still under the protection of the Fine Arts, but has a modern elevator and the apartment maintains the beauty of a conservative restoration and provides all the amenities and comforts that, today less than ever, we could do without.
In the apartment there is a spacious living room of 40 sqm, a separate dining room with a dining table for 6 persons and a fully equipped kitchen.
The master bedroom has a king size bed and a full bathroom en suite with a shower.
The second bedroom has also a king size bed and both the bedrooms has original drawings on the walls. There is second bathroom with a huge shower.
In the loft there is another king size bed and a full bathroom en suite with a shower.
In the apartment there is AC in all the rooms, WIFI internet access and it is 1292 square feet.
The renovation has been completed in October 2013 so the apartment is brand new and accurate in every detail.
Extremely centrally located, the apartment is minutes walk to all the major sites and touristic attractions of Florence, though is also very close to food shops and and markets and moreover it has a very pleasant outdoor space that can be used almost all year round.
Thank you for your nice review Jan.
It has been a pleasure to have you in Florence. I always want my guests to be treated as friends and hope that being in my apartment will record good memories and the good vibes for Florence. Always welcome.
This three bedroom, three bath apartment has everything, and more, needed for a stay in Florence. Bedding is comfy, baths are nicely designed, living area large enough, kitchen modern and part of the dining area...only one wine glass but who is counting...we managed fine with other glassware). We four women felt we had so much space and privacy within this large apartment, and the building itself is so very quiet except perhaps for us! Not really!
The apartment has such charm and character, with historic influence combined with modern amenities, and we enjoyed each of our four days!
The bedrooms are roomy, the third bedroom loft located up the spiral staircase is eccentrically appealing. Fantastic to have three baths!
It did take a few minutes to review the thermostat, heating worked fine when needed, and several times we flung open the shutters to enjoy a breeze even in March!
Using the washer dryer combo was a bit challenging, as the settings are like a zigsaw puzle. I did utilize the paper of instructions that were placed on top of the washer, but somehow the settings when followed showed 9 hours to dry clothes..again, we managed fine to complete one load of clothes. And thanks so much Francoise for having detergent to use without us going to the supermarket!
The kitchen was modern and more th adequate, and includes all needed, which for me meant having a coffee press along with an espresso/cappuccino machine. We especially enjoyed the convenience of a dishwasher.
Now to the location, which was magnifico! Only one block to Pitti Palace, and dotted with cafes, pattiseries on every small street. We highly recommend Quattro Leonis...the best, fresh pasta ever! Try the pear stuffed ravioli if available and salads. The menu changes daily, need I say more!
Just across from the entrance to Pitti Palace is an all organic restaurant, we tried the hamburgers and can say they were the best you will find...wish I could recall the name. They also serve vegan.
The apartment location is an easy walking distance to the bridges leading across to the many squares of Florence. We walked to Accadamia, Uffizi, the Duomo, etc, and also over to the Centrale Market to the upper level restaurants, a foodie gem, vibrant, lively atmosphere!.add it to your list of places not to miss!
The location was exactly what we (four women) wanted!
Francoise, we loved the apartment! Highly recommend it to all!
The location is perfect - within a real neighborhood, yet just across the river from the highest fashion street in Florence. Bed Rooms are very large in the apt. Restaurants within 3-4 blocks are amazing.
Just back from an amazing stay from this wonderful apartment a short walk from the Vecchio Bridge and close to restaurants, cafes and the Pitti Palace and Gardens. Fab position. Top of the 13th Century house, and very quiet - good lift but the stairs are manageable. Brilliant facilities and clean and fresh and beautifully and stylishly furnished and decorated. There are three steps from the two main bedrooms which might be awkward for some. The spiral staircase was very wide and easy. It all felt secure and safe. Francoise was brilliant and we were welcomed by her friendly and helpful colleagues. I recommend this apartment
Francoise was an exceptional host! His communication before, during and after our stay was very thorough! His assistant greeted us and reviewed the apt. The neighborhood is ideal and the very best gelato was just down the street at the bridge Gelateria Santa Trinta! This is a wonderful flat! We will be back again!!!
Our family of four truly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful historic apartment. It was in a quiet neighborhood but still close to resturants, shopping and sites. We walked everywhere! Within 10-20 minutes we could be at the Uffizi Gallery or the Piazza Duomo. For those who are adventurous we even walked to the Piazzale Michalengelo for the best view in Florence! The apartment is only 10 minute walk to a wonderful grocery store called Sapori & Dintorni Conad on Via de Bardi, 45/47. We cooked several dinners in the well appointed kitchen. The apartment is very comfortable and we appreciated the 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms so our two daughters could have their own space. Thank you Francoise!
We enjoyed the well-located and charming building and apartment, in close proximity to most of the major sights and activities in Florence. The apartment is spacious, charming and very comfortable.
Apartment is no more than a 10 minute walk from any place of interest within Florence city centre. Ponte Vecchio, Duomo, Piazza della Signoria, museums, Boboli Gardens. You just need to cross over the bridge to get to the amous Tornabuoni Street where all fashion designers are located. There are also plenty of restaurants, bars and shops very near the apartment.
Florence is well connected with other Italian cities thanks to a good railways network. Countryside around Florence is also worth a visit: Fiesole, San Gimigniano, Chianti, Sienna, Grossetto, are also worth a visit. Whether you are here for a short three day stay or a two month stay, you will never get bored. Travellers'guides in English, French and Italian are available in the apartment.
