Outstanding...just a perfect vacation rental

  • 5 of 5

The whole property is just beautiful! The home was so welcoming and super clean. Sue was so responsive to all our questions from the time we booked to arrival. The deck on the house is just wonderful! For us, we wanted to catch fish... Pioneer Lake did not disappoint! We caught large northern and bass and loads of pan fish. This is a great quiet lake and was easy to navigate. We loved the roomy pier... If we were not out fishing we were catching lots of fish off the pier. Sue suggested a few boat rental places. We used Dave's Boat Rental and he was great! Delivery and pick-up of a pontoon boat was easy! We cannot say enough good things about our experience! We loved running in to Eagle River for food, bait, and other necessities! Thank you so much for such a memorable family vacation!

Great home on a quiet lake

  • 5 of 5

This home had everything our family needed to make our stay enjoyable. It was very spacious, with a kitchen that was fully stocked with anything you may need! The dishwasher was a huge plus for us, and a washer and dryer was nice too. The weather was not very desirable so we didn't get to fish or do too much swimming. The kids enjoyed swimming of the dock though. I'd recommend swim shoes for young kids if swimming off the dock. The lake is on the small size, but not busy and very quiet. Home is conveniently located. We went bowling and to the Children's museum in Eagle River. We also drove to Minoqua to go to the zoo which I would recommend if you have kids! We enjoyed our stay, and Sue was easy to communicate with!

Wonderful quiet house with all the amenities.

  • 4 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at the house. Everything was clean and well stocked for our group of 5. The kitchen had all the stuff to cook with and even spices to add a wonderful touch. House was nice and large so we were not bumping into one another. Dishwasher and washer and dryer added to our convenience. Enjoyed the nice large deck and the fire pit as well. There was good fishing on the lake. The only drawback was that there were about 20 stairs to climb to the pier which was difficult for my husband. We were not able to go into the lake to swim due to many stones in the lake. You would have to climb down a ladder to get into the water which would be difficult. My granddaughter missed her wi-fi. I would recommend this property for a nice vacation.

We enjoyed our stay in this "home away from home." Well-appointed kitchen. Loved the great-room open concept. Great deck.

Great home, policies not completely family friendly

  • 4 of 5

The home is quite nice. It is very spacious and welcoming. The lot is very large and offers lots of space to explore. It is very peaceful, and the lake was quite nice. We enjoy Conover, and Eagle River offers some shopping and tourist attractions. Hiking in the area was excellent. Overall it was a quite nice vacation, and we enjoyed it. The only drawback was the checkout policies. It was not very family friendly to have to check out by 9 a.m. It was quite hard to comply with the checkout policies, be out by 9 a.m., with several small children. We would rent again if check out could be moved back slightly to a more reasonable time.

Owner's Response: Hi Sarah, It was our pleasure to have you stay with us and we understand your feelings about the check-out time not being convenient for your family with young children. Unfortunately our cleaning service takes care of more properties than just ours, so they have to adhere to specific check-out times in order to thoroughly clean all properties prior to the next guests' arrival. Sincerely, Sue

Exceeded Expectations

  • 5 of 5

The house was clean and waiting for us. The layout of the house left us plenty of room for a family of 6. The owners took time for extra touches to make our stay great. The info book was helpful for first time visitors like us. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well set up and made it easy to prepare meals. We arranged for a pontoon rental and it was easy to pick up the boat at the public landing on the South side of the lake. Pioneer lake was just the right size for us. There was little boat traffic on any given day. The bald eagle was always fun to watch when we were on the lake. Thanks for everything.
