About the property

Cedar Sided Cabin with Huge Prow and Deck. Private and Convenient

Our three bedroom, two bath home is located in Cannon Springs North. After going through the drive gate off of wells road, you will go down the STEEP slope to your unique and far from the road valley getaway. We loved the location and the view from the deck so much that we built an outdoor shower that has hot and cold water. (What a pleasure bathing outside with nature).

From the upper deck and lower patio areas you can relax and look over the lake. Deer, hawks, many birds and our evening bats are a joy to watch. A short stroll down the paved walkway takes you to your private dock. Keep your boat here or just go down and enjoy the great fishing right out your backyard.

The home has three bedrooms, two bedrooms and one bath on the main level of the home. The green room has a king size bed and the peach room has a queen size bed.

From the Living Room you go upstairs and there is a full size futon in the loft. Off the loft is the master bedroom which also has a king size bed and a small private bathroom with a stall shower, toilet and sink.

If you are ready to cook the kitchen has all the plates, utensils, pots, pans and cookie sheets that you'll need. The kitchen is small and compact. Just enough room for the head cook to whip up a meal in no time so that you can get back to enjoying the beautiful outdoor areas.

Lucky Lake House has free internet so bring your laptop and sit out on the deck or on the patio and enjoy surfing your favorite sites. Cell phone service could be limited because the home is down in the valley closer to the lake. But that might be a GREAT thing!

The home has Direct TV and there is even a music server on the wall going upstairs. Just tap the screen and drill down to your favorite song.

At the end of a fun filled day, grab a towel and head down to that outdoor shower.

About Mark or Pamela Schneider

Having a Birthday Party at Lucky Lake House!

We live about 85 miles away and have always loved the water, golfing and taking hikes or drives across the country side. No better place to do this then the Barkley Lake Area.

Mark or Pamela Schneider purchased this house in 2002

Why Mark or Pamela Schneider chose Kentucky

We bought our Lucky Lake House in 2002. Our goal was to find a place that was on the lake, had a dock, had privacy and wasn't so large that it would take a day to clean. When we saw the for sale sign at the top of the hill but could not see the house a good feeling came into our heart. The realtor said some where afraid of the steep drive and we thought 'there are tons of steep drives around here' but none that has such a great place at the bottom of the hill.

What makes this house unique

Away From Any Roads, Down in Valley With Other homes way up above us. outdoor shower, great fishing from dock, Huge Outdoor Deck and Under Deck Areas, swinging chairs.

Our first time at Lake Barkley and can't wait to go back. House was fantastic. Had everything we needed and then some. Caught plenty of bass and catfish within McNabb and Dryden Creek. Couldn't ask for anything more. Hope to go again in fall. I highly recommend the place for fishermen and families.

Comfortable, homey and relaxing.

  • 5 of 5

It was very comfortable with 6 adults. We all took turns cooking and everyone did fine in the small kitchen. It had everything we needed and held all the groceries. Very generous seating outside for everyone on every level. We really felt like we were secluded and away from it all but a five to ten minute drive got us to everything we needed. None of our cars had trouble with the steep drive. The owners were very responsive and wonderful to work with.

Amazing House with even better views

  • 5 of 5

The property was amazing. Traveling with kids and a dog, there was so much land to explore on our way to the dock to include a Fire pit to cook smores. One of the best amenities was 'Old Geezer', the row boat which we took out every day. Big enough for 4 of us to row, relax and get a line wet. Great fishing right off the dock too!! We caught a few crappie and several bluegill. Oh yea, and the house; AMAZING. 3 full Bedrooms we're fully set up. No hotel beds with bad pillows and towels :) the kitchen was fully stocked too!!

Overall one of the best vacation spots on VRBO!

A truly amazing get away at the lake!

  • 5 of 5

The Lucky Lake house was everything we could ask for! It has a steal driveway, but you standard car can easily make it up with no worries. The house it self is very welcoming and makes you feel at home. Everything that you need (towels, pots, pans, etc.) are already there. We loved the music station that allows we to play ALL kinds of music indoors and outdoors. On the lower patio there are amazing hammock swings that were perfect to relax in at the end of a long day on the water. The dock is in great shape and there is great fishing just off the dock. We stored our jetskis at the dock, and had no issues. The only suggestion I would make is pack extra bug spray, but you're in the woods so you should expect that.

Owner's Response: We are so glad you had a nice time. It has been hotter and wetter than normal this year and so it is great to hear that did not impact your fun times at all. The world would be a better place without bugs that is for sure. I am growing to think that they are resistant to about any type of spray. You are always welcome at Lucky Lake House!

Comfortable, clean, relaxing and fun!

  • 5 of 5

My family of six and our dogs truly enjoyed every minute of our stay at Lucky Lakehouse. The listing is completely accurate and I felt like I knew the place before we even got there. From comfortable beds (love that there are 2 king beds) to all of the outside lounging areas and fire ring. Fishing off the dock and "Old Geezer" we caught Bluegill, Sunfish and bass though only a few "keepers". Our pups were dog tired at the end of the days with all of the room to run and explore. A very nice grill helped us enjoy the outdoors also. Bugs are part of the experience so heed the suggestion of keeping lights to a minimun at night.

We had lunch at the Cabin in Eddyville where we enjoyed delicious soups and sandwiches on wonderful homemade breads with generous portions. We also bought homemade cinniamon rolls with us for breakfast the next morning and they were also very tasty. We were also able to get our fishing licenses in the same building. The Purple Toad Winery in Paducah has a large and welcoming sitting room.

We would love to return, and I'm not sure that we would leave the property next time!

Lucky Lakehouse Girls Getaway!

  • 4 of 5

We had a great, relaxing stay at the Lucky Lakehouse. We enjoyed the privacy of the property, beautiful area, serene views of the lake and striking fall colors. Our Great Danes, Elton and Clara had just as much fun exploring the property and playing at the lakes edge. Beds were very comfortable, plenty of extra pillows, blankets and towels. I do like to prepare our meals when away, the kitchen could use extra pans, a griddle, new set of plates. Loved having a dishwasher! We made use of the gas grill too! There is an elaborate sound system and ability to show movies outside that we did not use. WiFi is good, best cell reception is either at the top of the drive or down at the dock (we came for a get away!) The outside shower came in handy for washing off muddy dog feet and giving them a quick bath if it came to that with hot and cold running water. Caught the migration of pelicans one morning from the dock, what a sight! We spent some time at The Land Between the Lakes Park, went horsebackriding, took in the Nature Center and the Observatory. As luck would have it, the skys were clear and we were able to catch a meteor shower from the deck two nights running. If you like watching the sky, you will have a beautiful view. The driveway, as advertised, was steep. It is managable, as we three did find our way out whenever the mood struck. You'll have a great time here for a get away or if fishing and boating are what you enjoy it will be at your doorstep.

When one thinks of Lake Barkley the cities of Eddyville, Cadiz and Grand Rivers come to mind. Eddyville has Eddy Bay where the local marina sponsers the huge fireworks show each year, Thunder over Eddy Bay. There is a nice Water Park in Eddyville and if you are a Golfer, Mineral Mounds State Park is right outside of town. Several local restaurants offer great food and if you are a history buff you can visit the Museum at the Kentucky State Penitentiary. Need a boat, Prizer Point Marina can rent you one for a day or for a week. If you have a boat Lucky Lake House is about 1 mile away from the ever popular Dryden Creek Boat Ramp.

A short drive away is Cadiz, Kentucky. Lots of Antique shops to visit in their quaint downtown. Go the other way towards Grand Rivers and you can visit the famous Patti's Restaurant and catch a live bluegrass show.

If you are into hiking, riding ATV's, shooting guns or just taking a scenic drive you can continue on to Land-Between-The-Lakes. There are many other golf courses in the area and a variety of restaurant choices as well.
