A beautiful cottage in the perfect location
We have just returned for an idyllic week in the West Sussex countryside spent at the Cart Shed.
We were greeted by Pamela who made us most welcome then showed us around the immaculately clean cottage which is situated on a working arable farm with uninterrupted views across the South Downs.
Close to local places of interest such as Chichester, Petworth House and the South Downs Way, whether you prefer to visit a beach, a city or just explore the area with your dogs this cottage is ideally placed.
Throughout, the Cart Shed is exceptionally well equipped. There is nothing you would need that isn't provided, from the fully fitted kitchen to the books & DVDs (should you have a rainy day) and the information files providing details of the property, walks and places of interest to visit.
There is no doubt that you will return home chilled and relaxed after a stay in the tranquil setting of a cottage that has polo ponies to greet you over the fence in the mornings.
We and our 2 Golden Retrievers have stayed in several Owners Direct properties in the past but this beautiful little cottage by far and away surpasses them all and we hope to return in the near future. Thank you to Pamela and her family for making us feel so welcome. Deb, Nick, Indiana and Cheyenne.
We are so glad that our cottage was such a success with our guests, we do try to fine tune what we provide over the years, so that guests have what they most need for their comfort. It was so good to have such positive feedback, but also guests who valued our cottage by returning it to us in such an immaculate state. A big thank you to these visitors for giving their time to evaluate their stay in such detail. We look forward to their next visit with their beautifully behaved golden retrievers.
This is our second stay at the Cart Shed and again it didn't disappoint, clean comfortable and very well equipped. The garden and the farm the cottage is situated on is also kept immaculately tidy. We have about 12 weeks holiday a year in cottages and this has to rate as one of the best.
Idyllic, tranquil & country retreat
What a lovely property situated in the countryside and with farmland all around us. Great place to get away from it all. A very well equipped property with everything you could possibly need. It has a lovely garden which our dogs enjoyed and having sheep as our neighbours. Lovely places to visit close by such as Petworth, Bignor Roman Villas, West Dene Gardens and Chichester to name but a few. So enjoyed our stay we will be booking again to visit in 2018.
A lovely holiday cottage
We stayed as a couple last week (early April 2017) in The Cart Shed. We had a great holiday and thoroughly enjoyed staying in the cottage. It was clean and homely and in a lovely location. The working farm, when we were there, was quiet and beautifully kept. Pam and Keith, our hosts, left us to ourselves after the initial introduction to the property, although we knew we could contact them at any time, should we need to do so.
The bed was very comfortable and the view to the hills from the bedroom and through the lounge patio doors was lovely and uninterrupted, over farmland.
The heating and hot water was very efficient, although we didn't need it much at all, being very lucky with the weather.
We found the files of walks and attractions that Pam had put together to be very thoughtful and useful, although it made us realise that there was so much we wouldn't be able to see and do in just a week!
We are very happy to recommend this property and would love to stay there again should we return to the area.
Thank you to our hosts for the obvious care they take to ensure their guests have a happy and relaxing stay.
We are always glad to receive our guests' feedback, because when you live here all the time you may see things very differently. It is a bonus to have such pleasing feedback from a new pair of eyes. Thank you to our guests who have so appreciated what they had and spared the time to write about it. I am also glad that our walks file and information file were useful tools for exploring our locality in the glorious weather that we enjoyed last week. The bonus too was to have our cottage returned in such an excellent condition.
Thank you belatedly for a fabulous stay!
I found everything so well done!
The communication from Pamela was excellent; the setting peaceful, beautiful, immaculate ; the shower powerful and spacious.
The whole accommodation was first class, immaculate, spacious, good facilities, peaceful, lovely walks from the door, the bed super comfortable.
The outside space is private and has stunning views.
I would highly recommend this lovely characterful accommodation.
THANK YOU for a wonderful stay!
A review such as this is welcome, however belated it is. Our client was very generous in her comments and we appreciate the care she took of our cottage. Our area is well worth visiting and surprises most of our guests, because the beauty here far exceeds their expectations. Thank you to Stella for sparing her time.
Perfect place, perfect location, perfect stay.
My wife and I stayed for three nights over Christmas but would love to have booked for longer. An absolute gem of a place in a wonderful location. The cart shed is spacious, very well equipped, spotlessly clean throughout and has the most wonderful views to wake up to. Pamela was charming, friendly and very helpful and made us both feel extremely welcome. Highly recommended. We'll definitely look forward to staying there again (for longer) in the future.
We are so glad that our guests enjoyed Christmas at the Cart Shed and it is the icing on the cake to find that they were able to write such a super review. Our thanks go to these guests for treating our property with such care and leaving it in such a good condition. We do try to keep the accommodation to a high standard and were so pleased that they had found its location and condition as described. We look forward to welcoming these guests again, so that they can explore our unique location in more detail and enjoy more of what the area has to offer.
