Our property is best suited to 1-2 smaller children who could use the cot provided or the sofabed. A high chair is available and expected to be used for toddlers, in order to retain the high standard of cleanliness within the Cart Shed. A supplement of £50 per extra guest is charged for the use of the sofabed and cot. This includes the linen for the sofabed and extra towels, together with extra kitchen chairs. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times around the farm for safety reasons and they may not play on the bales as this is most dangerous. Dogs must be kept on their leads around the farm buildings as we have a working cat pack, who do an excellent job and do not appreciate being chased! Dogs are charged at £35 per week for each dog, they should not be left unattended during their stay. We require that all dogs should be kept off the furniture and will provide throws to protect our linen sofas and give you peace of mind, whilst re-assuring our non dog owning guests

Perfect place, perfect location, perfect stay.

My wife and I stayed for three nights over Christmas but would love to have booked for longer. An absolute gem of a place in a wonderful location. The cart shed is spacious, very well equipped, spotlessly clean throughout and has the most wonderful views to wake up to. Pamela was charming, friendly and very helpful and made us both feel extremely welcome. Highly recommended. We'll definitely look forward to staying there again (for longer) in the future.

Owner's Response: We are so glad that our guests enjoyed their stay and that the Cart Shed met their needs. It is only with their feedback and that of others, that we are able to equip our property with what is most relevant and meet their expectations. Our cottage sits on the edge of amazing downland views to the South and away from any main roads. Pamela Gadd

Owner's Response: We are so glad that our guests so enjoyed our cottage and found that it was equipped to suit them. It has an exceptional position and the area has beauty spots everywhere. There are many places to visit if you are not a countryside explorer and people often comment that they could not fit it all in during their stay. If relaxation is what you need, it is just the place for that too. Thank you to our guests for sparing the time to review our property. Pamela Gadd

Lovely Cottage, Immaculate Farm and OS Maps!

  • 5 of 5

... and this farm is Immaculate, even the public footpath to the Cricketers Pub (12 mins) was carefully mown. This is an area new to us and we were astounded by its beauty, range of places to go. Much appreciated the info folders with 4 OS Maps, marked walks and every uptodate leaflet carefully cataloged. We loved the walk from the door around Burton Park and Mill especially with lunch in Cricketers garden at the end. Our nervous dog soon settled and loved the securely fenced garden and friendly horses, but was oblivious to the beautiful views and huge skies. Petworth House is a must, but too much art for just one visit. Petworth Park is superb (free even to non-NT) and you can let your dog off lead (avoiding Deer areas). West Wittering beach for dogs too. Enjoyed walk around Chichester harbour and nearby shipyard. Chichester & Cathedral was lovely on a late Sunday afternoon. The nearby farm shop was useful. We would love to come here again as there is so much still to do.

Owner's Response: So glad that we were able to share our beautiful location with these guests who stayed recently with their dog. We are still finding new areas to explore even though we have lived here 50 years, so it is great to back these up with good walk directions and the appropriate OS maps. We also have many written walk guides and numerous brochures of places to visit. Thank you to our guests for sparing the time to write a review. Pamela Gadd

Quiet Retreat

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I and our 4 yr old Lab,George, had a lovely four night break in the comfortable, well equipped Cart Shed. George loved the back garden, where he could watch the horses and be made a fuss of by the stable hand! We had relaxing evenings sitting outside watching the sun setting and long walks in the beautiful area during the day. West Wittering beach has areas where dogs are allowed,as does neighbouring East Head and we had a brilliant sun drenched day there, where George had a good swim!

Lavington Common and Plantation is a great area for dog walking, with beautiful ancient trees and flowering shrubs. It can be reached by footpath from the door,or driven to, with a good parking area.

We can also recommend the food and hospitality at the local pub, the Cricketers, where George also enjoyed lots of attention!

Thank you Pamela for making our mini break relaxing and stress free (not always easy with a dog in tow!), we will be recommending the Cart Shed to our dog owning friends and relatives.

Owner's Response: How very kind of our latest guests to write such a detailed review of our accommodation, their opinion is very much appreciated. The fact that we live in such an idyllic environment all the time is beyond price. We are so glad that you were able to enjoy so many of the local beauty spots and discover our local pub, the Cricketers. Thank you for the care you took of our holiday home, you are most welcome to visit again with your handsome dog George, there are many more special places left to visit yet. Pamela Gadd

The "Shed" was immaculate as was the farm it was situated on. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay as did our little dog in the secure garden. Lots to see and do in the area especially for walkers. Highly recommended.
