We live in Connecticut and love vacationing on the Cape.
Jill Grossman purchased this house in 2012
After years of vacationing in Wellfleet, we decided to purchase a home here in 2012 and were thrilled to find this lovely property. It is in a great location and offers many amenities. Wellfleet is a fantastic place to vacation; the village itself is charming with its art galleries and shops and the beaches and ponds are spectacular. The location is also convenient to Eastham and Orleans. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
The peaceful backyard, open floor plan, proximity to the bike trail/beaches and all that Wellfleet has to offer make this home irresistible.
I’ve been meaning to write to you ever since we came back from our week in Wellfleet to tell you that we had a really nice time at your home. It was exactly what we were looking for and had everything we needed, both comfortable and clean. It was good to be so close to the beaches and yet the neighborhood was quiet and peaceful. We were lucky with the weather too as the week previous to ours had been cloudy and cool. I hope to be able to rent it again.
Hope you have a great summer.
We spent a week in this comfortable and well-equipped house taking a different route each day that included a hike, a beach outing and a pond swim. The back yard has a spectacular stand of trees with rich bird life that we appreciated over breakfast on the back porch. A path nearby that leads to the rail trial and opens the way to Cape exploration. We were rewarded by following recommendations for hikes in the guide book supplied. The house has all necessary amenities for an easy and comfortable stay.
A great house with lots of space, well supplied with cooking supplies. They added a new webber grill which we made use of. The Cape Cod Rail trail is located behind the property, but is still private and well wooded. You can bike a mile to the PB Boulongerie for pastries and coffee in the AM. Bike to nearby beaches, Bike all the way to Nickerson State Park (we did) or all the way to Dennis - about 20 miles one way. Close to the Drive-in Theater, a short drive to town to Mack's Shack for dinner or Moby's for some fried/broiled seafood. Its in quiet neighborhood, on a cul-de-sac, great for families with small children. A nice deck out back to hang out on after a day at the beach.
Nice having the downstairs Master Bedroom. Our grown children used the upstairs bedrooms, so we didnt worry about whether they picked up after themselves!
A great house, well maintained.
We had a wonderful stay at this home. The bike trail was down a short path through the back yard, maintaining privacy but being nevertheless totally close. There were so many beautiful beaches nearby. And we had wonderful weather and even got to enjoy the outdoor shower. Expect a great vacation!
This wonderful cozy house is located in a quiet place where to you would want to come back again and again!
When you step down to the backyard from the large wooden terrace you feel soft springing pine needles right under your feet. If you are lucky enough you might even meet a small flock of wild turkey slowly walking nearby. If you take an inconspicuous path right from your backyard you will find yourself on the famous Cape Code bike trail in a merely couple of minutes. You need exactly the same time (2 min) by car to reach the Highway 6 from your driveway.
From your location you are equally close to ocean beaches, to the inner Wellfleet lagoon with oysters, to freshwater ponds, to restaurants, to town center, and to drive-in cinema...
The house itself is very welcoming, spacious, very well kept, has all amenities you might want during your time in Cape Cod. Enough words - you should come here and see this paradise with your own eyes!
We just returned from two wonderful weeks in Wellfleet with this house as our home base. It was very hard to leave - the house was perfect - the space is wonderfully laid out and the kitchen is well stocked with cookware. Since we traveled via air, we appreciated that there were things like beach chairs to borrow. We have two kids (6 and 8 yrs old), so we split our evenings between going to the great Wellfleet restaurants and cooking at the house. The spacious and well stocked kitchen made cooking very easy. The house was clean, spacious and bright with natural light and well-maintained. The back deck and yard were delightful in the afternoon sun. We enjoyed many meals around the patio table. Having two twin beds in one of the bedrooms was key to the house for us. During the two weeks we spent there, we saw all kinds of weather. The house was well equipped with the wifi and cable to help ease the boredom during thunderstorms. The house is on the Cape Cod bike path and though we didn't have bikes (you can rent bikes for a day or for a week from Idle Times), we loved that we could walk the trail to dinner. The house is set back from the road and is in a very quiet cul-de-sac. That was perfect for us. We spent our days at all the wonderful beaches and ponds in Wellfleet. We loved exploring the Cape Cod National Seashore beaches and the kids were proud to earn their junior ranger patches at Province Land Visitor Center.
Jill was very responsive during the rental process and made the entire rental very easy. We will certainly rent from Jill and her family again and would recommend them highly! Thank you for sharing your lovely house with us!
Minutes away from both Wellfleet, with its art galleries and shops, and Orleans, very close to Wellfleet Drive In and Audobon Society, close to beaches and ponds and one mile to National Seashore beach. Less than 100 yards from the bike trail!
