|Minimum Stay||4 nights|
In one of the sunniest regions of France, our beautiful, recently-built apartment is the perfect base for a great holiday in Cavalaire-sur-Mer and the Gulf of St. Tropez. The apartment is part of Cap Marine, a small new development with a shared swimming pool. The development is situated on the edge of a natural conservation area and is just a 10 minute walk from the main beach at Cavalaire, marina and resort and there are tennis courts nearby. It is just 45 minutes drive from the airport in Hyères (40km) and less than 2 hours from Nice (70 km).
We have furnished and equipped our spacious apartment to a high standard to make your stay as relaxing and enjoyable as possible. Wi-fi is installed -so bring your mobiles and laptops. It has air-conditioning for the summer and heating for the winter. The large balcony area looks-out on to beautiful trees. It catches the sun until about 2pm but from then provides welcome shade from the heat of the day - a perfect place to enjoy the local rosé after a hot day at the beach!
More about Cavalaire and the Corniche des Maures: Cavalaire is situated on a stretch of the Mediterranean coast that receives more sunshine than anywhere else in France -- more than 3000 hours a year! It has a large marina and plenty of water sports including scuba diving, sailing, deep sea fishing and water skiing. There are plenty of excellent restaurants and bars - many with live music. The beaches are sandy and glitter from the mica crystals in the sand. There are also local tennis courts and a casino.
The area has tall dark pines, oaks and eucalyptus trees. There is a secluded sandy beach (Bonporteau) and lovely coastal walks along the famous Corniche des Maures just 10 minutes walk from the apartment.
There is an excellent scenic cycle route through the Corniche des Maures just close to the apartment – heading West along the coast out of Cavalaire. It follows the old railway line so is mostly flat and nearly all off road – ideal for families. Hire a bike for the day from the shops either in Cavalaire or at Wapiti Plage. The Gulf de St. Tropez and the Iles d'Or: Several larger, well-known beach resorts are close-by and can be reached easily by local bus. These include St Tropez (17km), Ste Maxime (21km) and Le Lavandou (20km). The recently-developed marina towns of Port-Grimaud (15km) and Cogolin (16km) are now major tourist destinations. Catch the ferry from Cavalaire to visit the famous 'îles d'Or': the Levant islands, Porquerolles and Port Cros. These small islands are protected National Parks which have something for everyone: sandy beaches, signed paths and trails, extraordinarily clear waters with a signposted underwater 'nature' trail and ancient forts.
The Var region: The Var region is famous for its vineyards and many within easy reach of Cavalaire are open to visitors. Take note of those that you would like to visit as you pass them on the roads into Cavalaire! Exploring inland, the hills, valleys, vineyards and pine forests of the Alpes de Haute Provence provides varied and fascinating destinations. Visiting the old villages perched high in the mountains are a great way to cool down on a summer evening. The extensive forests in the region are popular with walkers especially the Gorges du Verdon, Artignosc and Artigues. The many lakes, rivers and waterfalls are great for swimming, canoeing and fishing.
Our family has just returned from a fabulous holiday in Cavalaire Sur Mer in Angela's wonderful apartment. We really appreciated her excellent communication in advance of our stay and the information & directions that she sent in advance. The agent based in Cavalaire Sur Mer was very accommodating and flexible about our arrival time and responded immediately to a small query that we had. It was an excellent service!
This apartment is gorgeous, both in terms of how well and how nicely it has been equipped and its lovely location in beautiful Cavalaire Sur Mer.
We enjoyed everything about this holiday so much that we are returning to stay in this apartment again next summer. We are a family of four and it was an ideal base for us, which we would highly recommend to others.
We spent a week in September 2015 in Angela's lovely apartment in Cap Marine, Cavalaire. The apartment overlooks a small, quiet campsite and it is tastefully furnished and beautifully appointed, with plenty of natural light in each room. The living area and bedrooms are spacious and the kitchen is very well equipped. When there was a minor problem with the television reception, we received excellent customer service from Mark. We really enjoyed our stay in Cap Marine.
Just back from staying in this apartment for a week. Couldn't fault it. The apartment is exactly as shown in the photos and is spacious and comfortable.
Many personal touches which made it feel very homely, like beach items, household items, clothes pegs etc, which are often missing in other rentals.
Apartment is clean, bright and the air conditioning was a pleasure to come home to in the heat of the day.
Shower is really strong and powerful, which again is not always the case with others. Beds were really comfortable, and with the sun shutters closed allowed for a peaceful nights sleep until whenever you wanted in the morning!
At the risk of repeating other comments, the Cap Marine apartments are quiet, with little noise at night, allowing for a relaxing drink on the balcony.
The local agent was very helpful and was always available.
Would definitely recommend.
All in all, a nice relaxing holiday.
Just got back from our first trip to the South of France and it was great. The area and apartment was the perfect holiday location for a family with 2 kids. All the beaches were gorgeous and really clean. The season hadn't really started so nowhere was too busy but the weather still amazing. We enjoyed snorkeling, climbing and wandering around the nearby towns.
Best beach Cavaliere (bit further on than Cavalaire sur mer)
Best food - La Marine - on the front (10 min walk from apartment)
Places of interest - Port Grimaud, St Tropez, Tortoise sanctury
Apartment was great, modern and very well stocked with everything we needed. We were met by the agent who showed us everything and was on hand if needed .
We stayed in this apartment for a week in August and had a lovely stay. The apartment is spotless and furnished to a very high standard. The owners agent met us at the property and he was extremely friendly and helpful. The kitchen was fully equipped and had everything we needed. The balcony was a great place to sit with a drink early evening and was very peaceful and not overlooked. There was a retractable clothes line on the balcony with pegs and also an extra airier for drying towels and swimwear. There was a cupboard in the hallway which had beach chairs and children's beach toys which was so handy! The owners really have thought of everything and it was like a second home. There was so much attention to detail and it made our holiday so stress free with two young children. The pool was really busy but it was August so that was to be expected. Highly recommended! Thank you Angela for a wonderful stay!
We were there for a week with 2 children (12-14) and it was exactly as the pictures. We came from Canada to enjoy the south of France and the apartment was perfect for our vacation.
everything was super clean. and everything is at walking distance from the apartment.
and there is so much to see in the area.
we recommend it to everyone.
Cavalaire-sur-Mer is a sought-after location for family holidays and as a base for exploring the Mediterranean region. Situated just to the south of St. Tropez, there are 3 kms of white sandy beaches in a sheltered, shallow bay ideal for young children. The attractive marina, with over 1000 moorings, gives it a touch of class but without the hustle and bustle of the larger Mediterranean resorts.
Although quieter than the larger Cote d'Azur resorts, there are still plenty of things to do. Catch the sightseeing train at the port as a great way to get your bearings. The main streets have several pavement cafes and restaurants and there is a busy programme of concerts and shows. Every Wednesday, a large market held on place Jean Moulin sells regional produce including honey, olives, olive oil, locally made saucisson and local rosé wine. Year round sunshine and the Pradels mountains, lying just behind the town, complete the setting for a perfect holiday.
