Charming 2 bedroom townhouse, courtyard & terrace Prime location, sleeps 4 wifi

This charming Mediterranean townhouse is situated in the heart of Altea's old town in one of the most photographed and prettiest cobbled street settings. Set inside the historic castle walls and now a declared historic protected area, this delightful house with modern interior is close to the main Church Square and is only a 6 minute walk to the beach front and New Town Center, making it a prime location perfect for a home from home vacation.

The house itself has been lovingly renovated and tastefully decorated to the highest standards with a beautiful antique front door leading you to the open-plan living room and designer kitchen with breakfast bar and secluded patio. This property has two bedrooms (max 4 persons) with the main double being situated on the first floor along with the deluxe bathroom. The second of the bedrooms can be found on the second floor, comprised of 2 single beds and leading onto a delightful terrace where you can sunbathe or simply enjoy the roof top views.

The delight of this property stems from the finer details which have been fondly thought out by the owner to ensure a real haven of peace and tranquility. Whether you like to lose yourself in a good book from the fully stocked bookshelf, relax on the comfortable sofa whilst listening to the extensive selection of CD's, or simply enjoy an alfresco dining experience (and a glass of vino or two!) on the patio adorned with exotic palms and aromatic plants, this is the property for you.

You can ensure full peace of mind during your stay as this family run rental is fully-registered and licensed by the Spanish Tourist Board, giving you 100% comfort, quality and 24 hour friendly assistance.

As we have lived in Altea for the past 30 years we have all the insider knowledge to be able to offer endless advice and tips on Altea's hidden gems.

The commercial part of the town, offers its market ,boutiques and the newer palm-lined esplanade packed with restaurants serving delicious international cuisines.

You would expect Altea to have a harbour, being located beside the sea as it is, but in fact Altea has 2 harbours, the old fishing harbour and a somewhat newer Sports harbour

Altea holds the biggest street market in the region and visitors flock from all over the area to purchase fresh locally grown produce and gifts, the market is held on Tuesdays from 8.30am till 1pm.

Although most of our guests seem more than content to while away the day relaxing and enjoying the easy lifestyle associated with Altea´s old town, and beach, there are a multitude of things to do in the surrounding area. Due to Altea´s cultural status (it is home to the University of Fine Arts) there are dozens of art galleries and antique and craft shops, selling items unique to the area. As well as the many sports on offer, there are also many attractions for children (and the young at heart)

City life in Alicante (45 mins) and Valencia (1 hr 15 mins) is offset by the stunning Costa Blanca mountain scenery, home to the ancient monastery village of Guadalest. Altea is only approximately 20 minutes drive from the night life of Benidorm , and is handily placed for visiting its many attractions.

The famous water park of Aqualandia and Terra Mitica, Spain´s largest theme park with rides from around the world. Also the very popular Mundomar Dolphinarium.

Lovely townhouse in perfect locatiom

  • 5 of 5

We have just had a wonderful week in Altea. The property was lovely - spotlessly clean, very well equipped and in a perfect location. There are lots of lovely restaurants and bars within easy walking distance. It was lovely to meet both Suzanne and Pete as they met us/dropped us off at the airport and I would recommend taking them up on this service if you do not hire a car. Suzanne took us to a local supermarket when we arrIved which was so helpful. It was the perfect base for exploring Altea and the surrounding towns and I would highly recommend this property.

Charming Hideaway

  • 5 of 5

We couldn't fault this property. Everything about it was first class. Very well thought through in design, fully equipped with everything you could want. It was in a stunningly beautiful location just below the church and with lots of restaurants to choose from nearby. Sue and Pete, who live just round the corner, were exemplary hosts, with nothing too much trouble for them. Highly recommended.

Fantastic holiday (and the host)!

  • 5 of 5

My family had decided to come to Altea for three weeks, and when we saw this apartment the decision was final. We have a small baby girl and weather at that time of year could be a bit chilly. That is why the double glazed windows were great. Warm inside for a baby crawling the floors away. At that time she didn't walk, only stood supported so in that way it was perfect. Now that she walks and runs the apartment would not be a good choice since it has two steep stairs. This was of course explained to us when talking with Sue about the apartment and our needs.

We had thought to rent a car, however when we started walking the streets of Altea we didn't feel the need to have a car. Good groceries nearby so you could easily walk and carry them home. And it really felt like home. We come from Finland and have quite high living standards, so it really felt like home. This townhouse has been renovated with same high standards and as I understood, it was made by Peter, Sue's husband. Also every Tuesday there is a street market 3 minutes walk form the house. Good atmosphere and delicious fruits. Fresh vegetables and beautiful flowers to the kitchen table.

What comes to Altea, well all the good things are true. Never heard of the bad things :) Lovely cafes up in the hill besides a beautiful old church. I used to go have my morning cafe there. Very friendly people all around. We had our own timetable and it was fun to see that some of the restaurant workers had too. During that three weeks we got face familiar with some of the near restaurant staff. Made me feel more like home. Very relaxing holiday.

And what comes to Sue and Peter, well they were very helpful in every way. Right from the first inquiry to the lift to airport, they were great. You can really understand that although this is their job, they really enjoy the guests. Not once did I feel that I was disturbing or bothering them. Very nice and easy going. It also made me feel at ease to know that they lived around the corner.

This townhouse was perfect for us and we have many good memories of our holiday! Would definitely recommend to friends and relatives, and have done so already. Thank you Sue and Peter!

Best regards,

family Sulin

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for finding the time to review our townhouse. It was a pleasure to meet you all and especially your darling daughter. We are always happy to supply a cot and highchair for young babies and have since invested in a pushchair and extra car seat. Having you stay for 3 weeks was so nice, it gave us time to get to know each other a little. Our house is well heated and with the double glazing cozy and warm during the chilly winter evenings. Thank you for mentioning that you felt at ease knowing that we live just around the corner. Many of our guests comment on this and like the fact that ours is a registered family business and the meet and greets are handled by ourselves and not a representative who may be rushed and less interested in guests questions and needs. Thank you for recommending us and we hope to welcome you again in the future, to this or another of our three houses , when your daughter is a little older.

Fabulous townhouse in the perfect location

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful townhouse in a great location close to the main Church Square in Altea old town. It has everything you could need, a very high standard, well equipped property with two lovely outside seating areas. The terrace off the second bedroom was great for catching the sun and the courtyard had a fabulous relaxing feel about it with beautiful plants and fairy lights. The internal decoration is tasteful and the whole house was absolutely charming.

Suzanne the owner was a fantastic host and recommended place to eat etc, we looking forward to visiting Altea again and staying in the townhouse !

Stunning location, beautiful interior

  • 5 of 5

This was our second visit to Altea and we stayed in the same house as before.

Again, we were not disappointed. The standard of the accommodation is very high and Pete and Sue (the owners) were extremely helpful. The house was spotless. Plenty of clean towels were provided, as were beach towels. The beds are very comfortable and the linen is of excellent quality.

We love Altea old town with its alfresco dining around every corner. There are a number of interesting shops intermingled within the various cafes and restaurants. It’s very safe and we were happy for our teenage children to explore the area on their own.

The beach is just a short walk away and local transport is good if you want to go further afield.

During our stay we visited Les Fonts de l'Algar waterfall and Benidorm and took a stroll along the beach front in Altea.

We are looking forward to visiting again in the near future.

Situated about 7 kilometres north of Benidorm on the Costa Blanca, Spain, the pretty coastal town of Altea has often been called 'the artists capital of the Costa Blanca', as the narrow streets of the old town are lined with the workshops and galleries of the artists and potters who have made their home there.

The picturesque town of Altea embodies both modern and old Spain. It is one of the most charming places on the Costa Blanca; sheltered by mountains and overlooking the sea. Altea old town itself has long been recognised as the Bohemian centre for musicians, artists and writers from all over Europe.

The old town is set on a hill above the waterfront.

Calle Santo Domingo - in the heart of historic Altea: To get acquainted with Altea, you should leave your watch behind you, and roam the streets at your leisure. Stepping out of Calle Santo Domingo and turning left takes you to the Church Square - the focal point of the Old Town, and home to the landmark blue and white dome...
