About the property

5 Bedrooms, 3 Bathrooms, Great Public Spaces, Sleeps 7

Enjoy Boston and live like a Bostonian in our exceptionally comfortable and relaxed triplex home. Located on Beacon Street in Beacon Hill opposite the Public Garden and Boston Common (the oldest city park in America), our home occupies the top three floors of a historic granite-faced 1828 Asher Benjamin townhouse. The home receives gorgeous sunlight all day long and offers spectacular park and city views from all angles. It is, of course, fully air-conditioned.

The main floor is set up open plan, with a gourmet kitchen, fireplace dining area and modern living space with a large screen Pioneer plasma TV. Sound by Bang & Olufson. Hardwood floors throughout. Behind lies an additional comfortable living room with piano, comfortable sofa for lazing away with a book, chairs and another large table. In the back, facing out over romantic Byron Street with its dramatic residences is an outdoor terrace with a table for 8. Dinners outdoors are always delightful. And the view from the terrace in the evening is priceless.

Up one level, facing Beacon Street and the Public Garden is our media room with a 64 inch Samsung Plasma and Xbox. The furniture in that super-comfy room is all Yogibo beanbag. Both TV's access all the digital entertainment Comcast has to offer, including most movie channels.

Five bedrooms (two with queen beds) very comfortably complete the home.

There are three full baths, one on each floor. High speed Comcast WiFi is available throughout the home. Laundry is on the second floor.

About Peter

Friends and family are the primary components of my life. I work in the hospitality industry, so relationships are at the forefront of both my personal and my professional life. Cooking, entertaining, skiing, traveling and organizing fun travel events are what I love. And sports in general.

Why Peter chose Massachusetts

Boston is a beautiful city. Beacon Hill is the most beautiful and livable part of Boston. Add the park view, the immediacy of the Charles River and Esplanade and access to downtown... there was not too much to think about!

What makes this condo unique

Beacon Hill is the most elegant and historic neighborhood in Boston and is known as one of the finest urban neighborhoods in the United States of America. It is at the center of Boston, walking distance from every principal attraction. Next to the gorgeous city parks -- the Public Garden with its Swan Boats and famous Ducklings, the Boston Common, the Esplanade and the Charles River as well as the Hatch Shell, it is also home to Charles Street, one of the most photographed commercial streets in America. With great restaurants and bars, high-end stores, boutiques, galleries and antique shops, along with fine food and wine shops, Charles Street has it all. An evening walk through the gaslit streets of Beacon Hill is often considered a highlight of any trip to Boston. It is all at your door.

All that listed above is within a two to three minute walk from our front door.

Within a five minute walk is the world class destination shopping and restaurants of Newbury and Boylston Streets, Chinatown and the Back Bay, the State House and the Freedom Trail, Downtown Crossing and the Downtown business district.

There are three T stops within a five minute walk. There is a Hubway (city bike rental) directly across the street. But you'll primarily be walking. Everything is that close!

The famous Cheers Bar (from the classic television show) is on our block, just a hundred yards away!

Excellent location with abundant space for family and friends!

  • 4 of 5

We recently stayed at this lovely home on Beacon St. overlooking the Boston Public Gardens for a week during August. The place is huge! There were 4 adults, 1 teen and 1 pre-teen in our group. There are a lot of stairs but this home offered plenty of space for everyone and we still had an extra bedroom. In addition to having plenty of room another great thing about this home is the location! You can walk to so many places from here. There are multiple options for coffee, restaurants, shopping, bars (Cheers is on the same block). We enjoyed pizza from Figs, and excellent coffees and pastries from Tatte on Charles street just a short walk from the house. We also had a nice impromptu dinner at the Beacon Hill Hotel and Bistro on Charles St as well. The house was well equipped with most everything we needed and for anything else there was the Charles Street Hardware Store. There were 2 large screen TV's and comfortable sitting areas for everyone to watch a movie at night or to catch portions of the Olympics when weren't out and about town. The only reason I'm giving the rental 4 stars instead of 5 is that I felt that the quality of the linens, (sheets, pillows, towels) could be upgraded to a higher quality, which is an easy fix, but other than that everything was amazing. We felt like we were staying in our own home! Can't wait to go back again sometime. We'd definitely stay here again if traveling with another family. The home is very family/kid friendly. The house has an XBOX system and a play room. The owner was great to work with and check in/out was an easy process. If you have a chance to stay here I don't think you'll be disappointed. It's quintessential Boston at is best!
