We are a busy family of six from Dunwoody, GA. My oldest is attending Georgia College and State University. I also have a high school boy and twin girls in middle school. We have all loved coming to Sapphire Valley for years to visit grandparents, to play golf and to hike.
In fall 2010, we were blessed to purchase this brand new town home and we have begun to make our own traditions in the mountains. I have a personal mission to visit every waterfall and hiking trail in the area! (Rainbow Falls and Turtleback Falls, which are downstream on the Horsepasture River, are my favorites.) I have also become passionate about traditional Appalachian music and have begun playing the dulcimer, which I learned at a camp at nearby Western Carolina University.
We come up to our mountain retreat as often as possible, but the kids' schedules often make it difficult to come as much as we like, so we have decided to also rent our vacation home. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
Becky Jarrell purchased this townhome in 2010
This property is unique in its combination of location, spaciousness and newness.
The location is fabulous. It is both secluded in the woods and also only a short, flat walk to the Sapphire Valley Resort. It is convenient to shopping, restaurants, grocery, and outdoor activities.
The three-story design is spacious. The den and dining area are great for family games, but you can also retreat to the front porch or the back porch for quiet conversation while the kids play in the third floor bonus room. The three main bedrooms on the second floor each have their own adjoining bathroom. The top floor is a large bonus/bed room with a table for Monopoly, an extra sofa and bunk beds.
Finally, the town home is pretty and new, with granite kitchen counter tops, a beautiful stacked stone gas fireplace, Jacuzzi tub, and tiled showers. It is truly a mountain retreat.
- Great location: secluded in the woods, yet short walk to Sapphire Valley Resort activities
- Third-story bonus room
- Pretty and serene
We wanted a weekend getaway with our daughter's family including 3 grandchildren ages 5, 3, and 1 and this town home was perfect for our needs. The grandchildren loved wading in the creek just steps from the home and they enjoyed the adventure of walking along the creek across bridges to the playground in Sapphire Valley Resort. The amenities package was great for all of us as we enjoyed swimming in the pool at the resort, going to Fairfield Lake, paddle-boating, and discounts at Sapphire National Golf Club. The home was very comfortable including comfortable beds and everything we needed. There was more than enough room for our group of 5 adults and 3 children. The kids especially loved the upstairs bedroom and called it their own. Our only regret was not making time to hike to the many waterfalls in the area. It was a pleasure working with the owner and we hope we can return for future family outings. We would recommend this home to everyone.
This condo is convenient to everything and in a beautiful setting, lovely river off the back deck. Plenty of room for our family of 5, kids had so much fun. Owners were a pleasure to work with, very accessible, honest and fair.
This was a perfect rental for my son and his family - 6 total. Convenient to Sapphire Resort Well appointed and roomy. We rented a couple of townhomes because we had a large family group. The area is wonderful.
After the death of my father, we decided to start a new tradition and came here for rest and relaxation over Christmas 2013. It was one of the nicest holidays we have ever had! What is best about this beautiful townhome (other than the gorgeous decor, new granite kitchen, fantastic porch, and gas fireplace) is its fantastic location. We could walk with the kids to the slope to ski, walk or drive to the wonderful community center (indoor heated pool, two hot tubs, two saunas!) There is a lovely small waterfall within walking distance and of course, fantastic waterfalls that you can get to with just a short drive. Cashiers has an Ingles with a Starbucks inside! We attended a lovely Christmas Eve service at Cashiers United Methodist Church. This townhome has everything you need to be comfortable...a whirlpool tub in the master and a third-floor bunk room to stick the kids in. Fully equipped kitchen. Perfect for family gatherings: large enough so that everyone has some privacy when needed, but small enough to feel cozy. We plan to come back every Christmas!
This property was impeccably clean, it was beautifully furnished, it was perfectly located, and it was spacious enough for our large family group to live together without living on top of each other!! We will definitely be returning!
I can not say enough nice things about the owner or the property. The owner was incredibly easy to deal with and made us feel right at home. The property is clean, spacious and well furnished. The kitchen is well stocked with just about everything you could ever need to prepare meals. This in combination with the very conveniently located grocery store five minutes down the road, made meal time for a large group with small children a breeze.
The property itself has three stories which allows enough space for kids and adults alike to retreat to a quite spot for a quick break if needed. The kids loved the third floor which has a bunk bed and playroom! Everyone loved the fireplace in the main room which gave off enough heat to warm the entire first floor in minutes.
The resort and ski slope are an easy five minute walk. Our four and six year olds made it without complaint. It is just far enough away to be out of the hustle and bustle of the resort, but close enough to pop over for a quick swim in the heated pool after dinner and before bed. If you want a place to stay for a family vacation to the mountains, then this is the place. I guarantee you won't be disappointed. We are already planning our return trip!
Located in beautiful Western NC mountains - 'Land of Waterfalls.' Our new three-story town-home is secluded in the woods on the Horsepasture River, yet only a short river walk away from the fun activities of Sapphire Valley Resort (golf, tennis, ski slope, indoor/outdoor pools, fitness center, hot tubs, dry and wet sauna, playground, putt-putt, game room, concerts on the slopes, arts and crafts shows, and more.) Paddleboats/canoes/kayaks and a sandy lake beach are a mile away at Lake Fairfield (private for Sapphire Valley guests/owners). Hiking, mountain-biking, and shopping in Cashiers/Highlands are nearby.
