About Chris & Emily

Although we were raised in Vermont we are both world travelers. We purchased this property in 2013 and built the barnyard tiny home in 2016. We love meeting new people and wanted to create a nest for others to call home on their journey through this beautiful part of the Northeast. We love anything healthy, natural and wood grain. You can often find us dancing to our favorite 80’s classics while creating something new in the kitchen from our garden. We are passionate about food, flavors, learning new things and most of all enjoying the simple things in life.

Chris & Emily purchased this house in 2013

Why Chris & Emily chose Burlington

This spot is quite accessible to all areas of Vermont via our main roadway. We have some of the most tree cover on our property for the neighborhood, still getting good light from the sun 16 hours a day in the summer. It was sturdy, safe, and had a charming vibe to it from first visit. We could not ask for more.

What makes this house unique

1) Although biking and driving are heavily preferred, you can technically walk anywhere from here, and it is beautiful for a stroll. There are bike lanes on the roads into Burlington form here.

2) Biodiversity (birds especially) and lush growth on the property + having [Vermont] urban proximity.

3) Definitely before, but now more than ever, this property has ecologically optimized and energy conscious principles in use and available.

Quiet and relaxing

This is a great place to stay! Very clean, quiet, and charming. Chris and Emily are wonderful to work and even leave you some fresh eggs from their own hens for breakfast. I will definitely stay here again.

Pristeen and charming studio apt. Chris and Emily very gracious hosts. Easy access to Burlington. Great restaurants, craft brewpubs, scenery. Also nice to just relax and read or watch a movie on the unique rotating entertainment center. Loved the mesmerizing "crystal " fireplace!

Great Weekend Away!

  • 5 of 5

The carriage house was perfect – a lot of thought and effort into design, layout, functionality. For a couple getting away from NYC for a weekend, it was incredible to have, “nice things,” in a very comfortable space. The spot is a quick drive from stores, places to eat, and downtown(s); so great location.

Quiet, peaceful, extremely comfortable weekend; would love to go back!
