Great place to stay for vacation!
The place was small but worked well for our family. Most things that we needed were already at the house. The coffee shop, Mobys across the street was a great place to get coffee in the mornings.
Thank you for the nice comment :-) It was a pleasure to host you and your family.
Happy place - Clean and Comfortable with a great host
Thanks Eric, we had a great stay.
Really appreciated how helpful you were with solving my sporting tv requirements...
The place had everything we needed, was close to everything we were doing in Burbank, NoHo and Hollywood.
The house doesn't look like the online pictures
First of all the location was OK (only 10 minutes to drive to the Universal Studio). The host (Eric) was easy to work with and seems nice BUT... I got the first awful impression when I saw the front gate - very heavy and ugly. The house smelled musty, it wasn't rather clean and the air condition was very old and noisy. It was impossible to sleep with it. In general the house didn't look like the pictures online at all and was not really well maintained. Once we saw the place in the light of day, we were shocked at its condition.
The bathroom was inconvenient, small and narrow. We've been using the kitchen sink to brush our teeth. I was very disappointed when we did not find additional linens. When my brother in law decided to sleep in a living room since it was too hot in one of the bedroom without air condition, we haven't found either sheets or pillows. We felt the strong discomfort there and we were very happy to leave. I won't to rent this property again and do not recommend to rent it to other people because it's not worth your money if you only want to pay for location.
I'm sorry that your stay was not all you had expected.
I wish you would have communicated any needs while you were here and we would have helped make your stay wonderful.
Perhaps you did not actually read the property description?
We wrote " Ugly entrance to a cool pad! Comfortable, jumping-off place to explore L.A.!" That is the second line in the house description. We wanted to make it very clear what was offered.
We have had over 100 guests via Homeaway and other BnB sites and have stellar reviews. In fact won the SUPERHOST badge in other BnB sites. Even with your bad review we have a 4.4 out of 5 star homeaway rating due to the cleanliness and charm of our place and service.
You indicated that 4 adults would be using the house so we provided clean linens for that amount. Top of the line front loading washer and dryer were provided to wash the linens if they were soiled during your stay.
Perhaps you did not make use of the large AC unit in the kitchen? Between the two units the whole house can be make quite pleasant during hot nights. We made sure to show in the pictures of the bedroom that the AC is a window unit. It does not make any more noise than any other window unit.
The bathroom is exactly as shown in the pictures. A one basin sink between cast iron tub/shower and the toilet. i don't understand why you expected it to be anything else.
I can see from your reviews that you had never stayed in a Los Angeles BnB before so perhaps you are not aware that similar sized houses in our convenient area with nicer entrance areas go for about $50 a night more than ours. We adjusted the price for the ugly entrance.
I wish you the best and hope your future travels will be better served with the insight given above.
Comfy place close to everything
Eric (our host) was extremely kind. We were checking in quite late and he had all of the beds set up for us and left lights on knowing we would be tired upon arrival. The beds were very comfortable. Plenty in the kitchen to cook with. Beach towels to use for the beach. They even have a fun orange tree they allowed us to eat from if we’d like.
We only stayed a couple of days as we went to Universal studios but this was the perfect pace for that. Extremely close in location and even got some great advice from our host about parking.
I would recommend this place and will be back in the future. Thank you Eric for your kindness and allowing us to stay in your home.
Close to Universal Hollywood, safe, great host.
We were there to visit Universal Studios. It was minutes down the road. Great restaurants within 2 miles of the house. The neighborhood was safe to walk the dog at all hours of the night. Directions to the house are simple to follow. Check in and out was simple. Great Hosts. Would definitely stay here again.
A Great Location
This property was very comfortable, clean and cozy. It is an older property and not perfect or fancy, but it met our needs. The nights were quiet. The beds were very comfortable! I appreciated having a washer and dryer. It had everything we needed and we enjoyed our stay.
Universal Studios Hollywood and Hollywood Hills/Bowl are less than 3 miles away
