Lovely 4 bedroom, 3 bath home located a couple blocks from New Orleans line in historic old Arabi. The home is on a large corner lot which offers plenty of free parking. Besides being 4 miles from the French Quarter, it's also just as close to a boat launch which offers the best fishing in the country. So stay a few extra days and bring your boat or hire a fishing guide. This is the safest area in the city! Unlike New Orleans, we have plenty of police in Arabi and they do not tolerate any riff-raft coming here to commit crimes. Arabi is in St.Bernard Parish(county). My wife and I love New Orleans. We have our favorite restaurants and places to go in New Orleans, but we love coming to our house in St. Bernard Parish to safely sleep at night with peace of mind.
Also note that for being 3 miles, (10 minutes drive) from the French Quarter, the rates are 1/3 of what the same size house would be near the Quarter.

About Larry Landry
I was born and raised here. I love being being in the safest area of the city. I own this property and live locally.
Larry Landry purchased this House in 2006
Why Larry Landry chose Arabi
I bought this property because it has a great floor plan, plenty of parking, corner lot, large back yard, a great neighborhood and convenient to everything.
What makes this House unique
I am minutes away from everything in New Orleans that I love. Plus I am close to the best fishing and hunting that anyone could ask for. Inquire about fishing charters.

Nice neighborhood with plenty of room!
I came to New Orleans with my friends for my bachelorette party. This house was plenty big for the 9 of us who went! We did have some uber drivers tell us we weren’t in a great area but we had no problems whatsoever over the course of our 5 day stay. There was a walmart fairly close by so we were able to get some snacks, drinks, sandwich items, etc to have for when we weren’t eating out. The only con I can really think of is the distance to the French Quarter. We didn’t think it would be as big of a deal but having to to take uber/lyft everytime we wanted to go did add up, especially since we had to take 2 cars due to the size of the group. Overall, great stay and wonderful house!
The house is located in Arabi, LA. It's a couple of blocks from New Orleans and 3 miles to the French Quarter. New Orleans and Arabi are divided by the Army National Guard (Jackson Barracks). There are only two roads that pass through Jackson Barracks into Arabi. Arabi is protected by it's own large sheriff's department. The sheriff's department in Arabi does not allow any of the riff raft that comes from New Orleans. Arabi is not an easy target and the criminals know this. That is why they stay out. When looking at the FBI National Crime map, New Orleans is riddled with crime markers, but Arabi almost has none. I am not exaggerating when I say Arabi is clearly the safest place in the New Orleans area. In Arabi you can walk the streets at night as well as day time without worry. It's like living in a gated community. My property is priced low compared to the French Quarter properties, which makes taking a taxi back and forth more affordable. There is no price on safety. My November guest know this. Thank you so much for staying in my home.
Great place, fantastic location, we will be back!
Great house, great time!
Overall - 4/5. Better than expected, while it didn't really "blow me away", this place is a great value for what you pay for!
I had a group of 10 people and when we walked into the property for the first time, we realized that the house was much larger than the pictures lead us to believe; a pleasant surprise. There was plenty of room for us to sleep comfortably, share bathrooms, eat together for dinner, or just lounge in the living room watching the Olympics! I noticed older reviews noted a lack of utensils/towels or linens, but my group had no such problem. The ONLY thing we might've been short of, if anything, was that we couldn't find extra sheets for the linen couch, so we just used a spare comforter (hardly an inconvenience).
The area is a little out of the way of downtown, which is nice because the area was quiet, but close enough to French Quarter to be convenient. Via Uber it takes about 15-20 minutes, but obviously there's traffic the closer to downtown you get, so take that into consideration.
Larry was really accommodating and so gracious, thank you for letting us stay in your home for the weekend. Would recommend for any large group visiting.
Great stay at 601 LeBeau Street.
The house was very accurately described by Larry. We had all of the accommodations that we needed. It was located outside of the French Quarter but obtaining an Uber was no problem whether it be early in the morning or late at night. The neighborhood was extremely quite with local eateries near by. We actually enjoyed Gerald's on the night of our arrival at midnight. Larry was very accessible anytime that I needed him. I would recommend this house to anyone wanting to visit NOLA.
Good location. Great value. Had no issues with a group of eight.
Recommend anyone staying here to bring their own supplies. Not much in the way of usable pots and pans or trash bags.
I have basic pots and pans in the house. I realize that it was Christmas. Most people coming to New Orleans go out to eat. If they wanted any other cooking equipment, I'm only a phone call away. We are here to please our guest.
The house served its purpose. Great location and neighborhood. Enough room to sleep 10 comfortably. Everything worked well inside of the house - no issues! Would rent again if I was ever in the area.
Charming cottage located from the New Orleans and Mississippi River.
