Lovely, comfortable, clean, great area.
Clean and tidy and a great location
Lovely apartment. 8mins by taxi to the town centre . Lovely location near the docks . The only negative thing was the blinds . There were some missing from the windows so had to get dressed in the bathroom other then that we really enjoyed our stay
Repairs to blinds still needed
Generally ok, good location. Gaining access is complicated esp with nowhere to park while getting keys.
I read previous reviews complaining re blinds & expected repairs to have been made in the interim but not the case. A roller blind in double room is too narrow leaving gaps at both sides.
When we arrived the towels were in the washing machine. Instructions said they might need a bit more drying. They were absolutely soaking as if just finished wash cycle. Managed to put on dryer programme (no instructions) & when they were almost dry discovered that machine was packed so full the towels were crinkled & unusable. We had towels with us so used our own & I left the apartment towels in the twin room. I have not come here to sort out someone else’s laundry!
Bedroom blinds didn’t close and no curtains. No clothes storage in bedroom 2. No dry towels on arriv
Good location, warm, mostly clean and well equipped. Furniture in good condition. No WiFi. On arrival after a long journey all towels and tea towels were still wet in the tumbler dryer and took some time to dry out so unable to freshen up and had nothing with which to remove hot dishes containing our evening meal from the oven. Main bedroom well equipped but second bedroom had neither a set of drawers nor a wardrobe so no clothes storage at all within the room. The two single beds were only a handswidth apart. The vertical blinds within the second bedroom were broken and discoloured and there were no curtains so no privacy for dressing and unable to shut out the lights from the apartments opposite or the lit parking area underneath. Instructions and directions good.
Dirty and in disrepair
On the plus the property is in a great location, the owner is very informative and helpful and the kitchen in well equipped. This is all spoilt by fact that the property wasn't very clean and in disrepair. It hadn't been vacuumed, skirting boards and window sills dirty, black mould in shower and kitchen greasy. Blinds at windows falling apart and one in main bedroom missing altogether so no privacy and woken at sunrise. Shower cubicle boor handle broken off and towel rail in bathroom falls off.
Disappointed with the apartment.
There has been no upkeep on the general wear and tear. It doesn't look like repairs have taken place if and when occupants have caused damage. The master bedroom is missing the blind which means the lamp post right outside bedroom window shines right in making sleep near impossible. The bed sheets were stained. The wood beading on the wardrobe at the bottom that runs along the floor is coming away, hazard if you were to stay here with children.
The lounge is basic and dressed wrong... if you're wanting to watch tv from the sofa you'll get a sore neck from watching at a strange angle.
En suite shower door handle has broken off and therefore difficult to open.
Never used the kitchen other than to make a hot drink. Opted to eat out for the duration of our stay.
Bathroom smells, like a damp dirty mop has been used. The dishwasher was full of dirty dishes when we arrived... We left that as we found It!
The local tourist information that was found in the flat is out of date, this is dated 2011-12.
On a plus the complex where this apartment is situated is great, nice communal gardens and close to the Albert Dock area (can walk to Albert Dock in around 10 minutes).
If you decide to stay here, I hope your stay is better than ours!
To gauge this review, one only has to reflect on the fact that one of the complaints is the guest felt she had to watch TV from a strange angle. The sofa is against the wall as it would be in the vast majority of properties with TV in the corner. Never had a complaint about the TV angle in 10 years of letting the flat. If she was so bothered move the sofa to the desired angle. If the dishwasher had dirty dishes in – which seems very unlikely given the cleaner had only just cleaned the apartment – how difficult would it have been to turn the dishwasher on. How is it relevant to the review that the guest opted to eat out for the duration of their stay? Finally notwithstanding guest found the apartment complex is 'great' and the location is praised gave it a one star review. An unfair review. See other reviews for a more balanced assessment.
