About the property

Quebec Quay is one of the most desirable apartment developments in Liverpool’s docklands. Large living room / dining room with separate kitchen. Double glazed French doors to Juliet balcony from which Liverpool Marina can be seen. Decorated to a high standard with double glazing and central heating. Situated within a gated community, the apartment offer access to immaculately maintained communal gardens and secure allocated parking.

Immediately adjacent both to the River Mersey and Liverpool Marina, in a quiet location yet within 5-10 minutes walk of the Pier Head, the Liverpool Echo Arena / BT Conference Centre, the Albert Dock and the new vast Liverpool One shopping centre. Ideally located for attending concerts at the ACC Echo Arena, Matthew Street Festival and Summer Pops.

20 minutes walk (or 5 minutes in a taxi!) to the city centre, yet the peace and quiet of the marina area.

Liverpool's Cultural Heritage: The architecture is world-class, with more listed buildings than any city outside London. The heart of the city and its waterfront sit proudly alongside treasures like the Taj Mahal and Pyramids at Giza as a World Heritage Site.

Many gems of the National Museums Liverpool fall within the heritage site. The refurbished World Museum Liverpool and Walker Art Gallery are housed in this part of town, while the Tate Liverpool and Merseyside Maritime Museum have their homes on the waterfront, at the Albert Dock.

Our city's areas of interest extend far beyond this however. Liverpool boasts two cathedrals which are major attractions in their own right. The Anglican Cathedral and the Metropolitan Cathedral are fine examples of internationally recognised architecture.

If you're looking for theatres in Liverpool, choose from the Everyman and Playhouse, Unity and Empire theatres for a range of contemporary, classic and touring productions.

Liverpool's Musical Heritage: Liverpool Rocks!

You will find traces of The Beatles at nearly every turn in modern Liverpool. But don't overlook their many predecessors, like Britain's first great rock'n'roller Billy Fury, or their contemporaries in the 1960s Merseybeat movement that would revolutionise pop culture. Musicians as diverse as Echo and the Bunnymen, Frankie Goes to Hollywood and Atomic Kitten have roots in the city.

This summer, the city that The Guinness Book of Records has named as World Capital City of Pop is host to an exciting exhibition dedicated to 60 years of Liverpool music. The Beat Goes On opens at World Museum Liverpool from 12 July 2008 to 1 November 2009. Celebrating 60 years of Liverpool music from The Beatles to The Zutons.

*** For the latest acts, Liverpool Echo Arena is the city's superior venue for concerts and hosts world-famous artists and bands and is only 5 minutes walk from the apartment ***

Liverpool's Sporting Heritage: Sport - along with music - is the beating heart of this city.

Mention the name 'Liverpool' to almost anyone, anywhere in the world, and their almost instant reaction will be 'football'. The Northwest is a hotbed of footballing success, with seven Premiership clubs; the homes of two of them, Everton and Liverpool, are just minutes from Liverpool City Centre.

The Grand National horse race is the world's most-watched sporting event, with an annual audience of 600 million. Haydock Park a premier dual-purpose racecourse, boasting an active and energetic year-round racing calendar that includes both flat and jumping fixtures.

But scratch the surface, and there's a huge range of sports on offer: rugby league continues to rise in popularity, led by St.Helens Saints and Widnes Vikings, while the Liverpool the International Tennis Tournament 2009 attracts some of the world's top tennis talents, and the event is expected to be a major event in the calendar.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Dominic, had a traumatic day before we had arrived, but still had time to help us with our luggage and make us feel welcome.

The apartment was just right for our needs. Close for all the city center attractions and yet far enough away to not have the city noise.

our experience

  • 4 of 5

Thanks so much for a lovely stay at Quebec Quay. The apartment is in a great location and an easy walk to the docks. It is a very comfortable place to live in and a great space for our 21 month old son to run around in. We very much enjoyed our stay there.

Convenient location, worn out and dirty, complicated to access

  • 3 of 5

First the good stuff: excellent location in a fairly quiet neighborhood. The dockside is beautiful, and this was within easy walking distance of museums and Beatles sights and the ferry - all of which we wanted to see. Also it was a spacious apartment, with plenty of room for our family of four, and the dishwasher and washing machine/dryer in the apt were convenient. Now the bad - this was definitely NOT a "luxury" apt: thin carpets; worn out blinds that let in all the summer light; stuffy inside unless windows and door were all open, since the water heater is super hot; could feel the bedsprings in the worn out master bedroom bed; mildew everywhere in the shower (which was missing a handle to open the door); dish cloth was so old and dirty it was grey and I was afraid to touch it; kitchen sink with food particles in it when we arrived. Also, obtaining the key fob (which was attached to the key chain with scotch tape, and which fell off into the recesses of our car when we tried to use it), was very difficult. Pedestrian gate codes, car gates so you couldn't leave without the special thing attached to the key chain with scotch tape - it all made finding and accessing the apt and the parking difficult and stressful. I would not come back here, and I would not recommend it to any of my friends.

Owner's Response: The state of cleanliness is subjective so I'll leave that to one side. As for the access however let's be objective. The apartment is in a secure gated complex ths providing secure parking and a safe environment for guests. Self evidently therefore the pedestrian gates and car access has to be controlled. The pedestrian gates therefore have key code locks which we provide the code for. The electric gates for car access and egress are controlled with a radio / remote key fob operated from your car. If you couldn't remember the pedestrian gate code you could even just open the car gates with the remote key fob. The doors to the apartment block buildings themselves have proximity locks opened with a proximity key fob - 2 provided on 2 sets of keys. These are standard access systems used around the world!

Fantastic apartment on Liverpools' riverfront

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful two bedroomed apartment with modern kitchen and comfortable lounge.

Clean, spacious and quiet. Ideal for our party of four.

Some minor quibbles but they did not detract from the overall positive of this apartment.

Dirty and disappointed

  • 2 of 5

When we arrived at the flat both bathrooms were very dirty. The master had mold on the walls and ceiling there was mold on the shower tiles and all around the track of the shower door. I had to clean the shower tray because it had a black ring around it. The floors in both bathroom were covered in hairs and were very dirty in the corners. We had been in London for 2 weeks prior to our stay in Liverpool and we needed to do some laundry the washer was broken and we made many calls to the owners to have it repaired. We told not to keep calling them as they were trying to get it fixed and one of them worked nights. As they only supplied 6 towels for 4 people and we had no means of washing them I had to go and buy some. At the end of the second week it was still not repaired and we had to go to the launderette which cost 25 pound for taxis and the machines. We were given a refund of 50 pounds for the inconvenience. The owner told my husband he had never see so much fuss for a small matter. There were other things in this flat that we complained about there was a broken frying pan that actually swiveled in my hand while cooking. There was no ironing board cover or oven glove. The owner did bring these thing over the first week. But the general condition is grimy and dirty all the light switches and the walls around them are very dirty. As were the French doors there was kids sticky hand marks on the glass. The vacuum needed to be emptied and there was no dust pan or brush. I read some comments left by other guests and the broken handle on the shower was in 2010 it's still broken and the mold from the leak was in 2015 still not repaired. Also none of the extraction fans in the bathrooms or the kitchen work. On a positive note the location is great, the bedding was clean freshly laundered. This flat could be so much better it's an ideal size so come on guys get in some professional cleaners and put in some wifi everywhere we stayed during our month in England had wifi. Get the repairs done! You have a good property take care of it and take care of your guests.
