Two bedroom apartment with large comfortable lounge / dining area sleeps 4-6

Situated in a converted chalet style building this comfortable two bedroomed apartment with private parking and optional garage provides high quality self catering accommodation for 4-6 people. The apartment is situated in the old village of Le Tour adjacent to a large carpark. It is only a short walk away from the ski lift in Le Tour which gives access to the nursery and intermediate ski slopes in winter and also to fantastic walking/mountain-biking/climbing in summer. Three kilometres away is Argentiere with its world renowned skiing at the Grand Montets.

It has a large central lounge and two double bedrooms both with twin beds that can be used either as singles or doubles, it is ideally suited to couples or families. There are two bathrooms, each with bath, shower and toilet. The dining area seats 6 in comfort and the kitchen is well appointed with all the usual amenities including a dishwasher. Our excellent English and French speaking agent will meet and greet you and be on hand to advise you during your stay.

Winter in the Chamonix valley: : Some of the best and most demanding skiing and snowboarding in the world is to be found in the valley, with some 200 lifts and 600kms of pistes. For intermediates and experts some of the longest and steepest runs are to be found at the Grand Montets (3200m) in Argentiere as well as at the Aiguille du Midi (3825m) in Chamonix itself. Le Tour offers excellent conditions for beginners and intermediates alike and is ideal for a family holiday. Because of the situation the quality of the snow remains good until late in the season. For those who prefer cross-country skiing there are a number of trails in the valley. In addition, Le Tour boasts more sunshine than any other part of the valley!

Summer in the Chamonix valley: : The valley is equally fabulous in the summer as in winter! Chamonix is the centre for mountaineering in Europe and houses the French mountaineering school. In addition, there are opportunities for the adventurous to try their hand at canoeing, white water rafting, mountain biking and paragliding. The summer luge (kids of all ages love this!) and the Foret d'Aventure (trails with ropes up in the trees) can be found in Chamonix. If you prefer your pursuits a little gentler, there are walks and hikes of varying lengths and difficulties. Many of the cable cars are open during the summer months so that everyone can enjoy the spectacular panoramas of Mont Blanc and the neighbouring peaks. Two tramways operate - to the Mer de Glace (largest glacier in Europe) from Chamonix and the St Gervais Tramway affording fantastic views of Mont Blanc. There are also nature reserves within a few miles, plus the more usual tennis, swimming and horse riding.

What else?: : Le Tour is ideally situated for exploring a little further afield. Switzerland is just a short drive away and Italy is easily accessible via the Mont Blanc Tunnel. If you prefer to stay put, Chamonix has much to recommend it - a wide variety of shops, cafes and restaurants, with weekend markets in both Chamonix and Argentiere.

Cosy, comfortable and a great location

This was the second time we had stayed in this apartment, as it fulfills all your family needs. It is really close to the lifts, comfortable, warm and in a quite location. It is also spacious and well laid out. Le Tour is a really lovely, charming place to stay. It's small but old and has a few good places to eat, but book in the school holidays as they get very busy. The slopes are just right for family fun and not that busy as there isn't much rent-able accommodation in Le Tour and it's a bus ride from the other, more commercial resorts further down the valley. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Quiet place with great possibilities for skiing

A cosy, very complete apartment in a quiet, beautiful , tipical savoyarde place Le Tour. It gives you the opportunity to combine the great skiing sloops of Chamonix with the rural and quiet more homely skiing area of Le Tour. The apartment is just as it should be. Friendly, cosy, with all comfort you need. A car is preferable but not necessary because of the good bus connection.

Although there are no shops, not even a bakery, there is a good cafe/restaurant were you can have a nice breakfast and a good lunch.

Fantastic spacious apartment with ample and comfortable accommodation for 6 in quiet village (2 bar/restaurants, 1 ski-shop, 1 take-away). Walking distance from cable (Tete de Balme), ski bus stop(access to rest of Chamonix valley) and train (Montroc). Excellent support from local rep. Quality skiing under spectacular Mont Blanc backdrop in what has to be one of the greatest places to ski on the planet. (It's taken me a long time to discover this!)

Nearest place for groceries in Argentiere (3 km) - lively Alpine resort with access to Col des Montets.

The whole family had a great time - highly recommended

A lovely apartment in a great location

We were surprised when we arrived in this apartment, it was more spacious than we had imagined and very well laid out. Two really decent sized bedrooms each with a bathroom. The beds can be made as twins or doubles and were very comfortable. The living area is again spacious and comfortable and the dining / kitchen very well equipped. Just a short stroll to the ski lift made this a very comforting experience.

Argentiere Holiday Apartment: Le Tour

It is a lovely apartment meeting all the details described in the advert. We, a family of five (three adult children) spent a nice skiing holday, enjoying the spacious enough flat. The lift to Le Balme is in short walking distance, so the apartment is very convenient for skiing holidays. I can fully recommend the apartment.

Logement très bien, très agréable.

Bel appartement, très confortable et bien équipé, au calme, au premier étage dans un vieux chalet divisé en plusieurs logements. Près des pistes, nous y avons passé un agréable séjour en famille malgré une météo très enneigée. La disposition des chambres avec salle de bains chacune est appréciable. Les navettes bus Chamonix Argentière Le Tour sont bien utiles. Les contacts par mail avec M. Parker, propriétaire, ont été très agréables. La personne sur place est accueillante. A louer en toute confiance.

Le Tour is a small village nestled at the top of the Chamonix Valley. It is one of the 5 main ski areas within the Chamonix valley all of which are served by an efficient free bus service. Le Tour offers a good range of runs for all levels, from the nursery slopes of La Vormaine (50 metres away) to the main ski area (about 80 meters away)which provides excellent skiing with plenty of variety, in the sunniest part of the valley. There are a number of good reaturants and it is possible to ski down to Vallorcine where the railway cafe will provide an excellent lunch. There are also excellent off-piste opportunities for those that want more excitement. Three kilometres away is Argentiere with its world renowned skiing at the Grand Montets. The larger town of Chamonx is 10 Km further down the valley, and is home to the interconnected South facing ski areas of Flegiere and Brevant. Chamonix also provides access to the Aiguille du Midi cable car leading to the world famous Valley Blanche and its varients. The Swiss border is very close, with Verbier only an hour away by car and included on the same ski pass (Chamonix unlimited pass of more than a weeks duration, check before leaving). Italy is accessible via the Mont Blanc tunnel, with Cormeyer also being available with the Chamonix unlimited ski pass.

Prices are quoted in Pounds Sterling and include electricity. They do NOT include end of stay cleaning 50 euro or linen which clients can either bring themselves or rent from a local agency the details of which are available on request.

A 25% deposit is required upon booking with the remainder to be paid 8 weeks before your holiday.

A returnable security deposit of £150.00 will be required with all rentals, it is payable at the time of the final payment, and will be returned within two weeks of your departure

Notes:
There is a good sized ski locker in the basement, the appartment has its own parking area, but it is also very close to the large main carpark. There is a pleasant shared garden for summer visitors that has a wonderful view down the valley. There is a lockable garage that can be made available on request.
