About Kevin and Jan, Owner
We are married for 29 years and have 2 children in the 20's. We take pride in providing an immaculately clean and tidy home. We enjoy hearing back from satisfied guests that have had a enjoyable experience staying at the beach house rental. We appreciate guests who share information about themselves when making a rental inquiry and offer full disclosure as to the number of guests who will be staying.
Kevin and Jan, Owner purchased this House in 2003
Why Kevin and Jan, Owner chose Union
The home is built right on the oyster beach and at high tide with the waves lapping against the bulkhead, you might think you are on a boat! Low tide brings many, MANY eagles, herons and salmon. Unlike most waterfront vacation rentals, this home has surprising privacy. No neighbors watching you, no resident homeowner cramping your style. The house is on the water side of the street - no crossing the road to get to the beach! The property is fenced for the safety of pets and children.
What makes this House unique
The Union City Beach house is the perfect vacation spot! This peaceful location is just a four minute walk to picturesque downtown Union, the Union Country Store, the Union City Market, the Dos Margaritas Mexican Restaurant and the Hood Canal Marina and public boat launch. The Alderbrook Resort is just a 3 minute drive and guests can rent kayaks, SUP's and other watercraft. Spa services and restaurants are also available to the general public.

We had a wonderful time staying here in mid June! The views were out of this world. The house is true to the beautiful pictures. We loved seeing seals and bald eagles from the nice large deck. The host was polite and easy to work with
Very pleased with our stay
Thank you Keven and Jan!
We are quite fond of VRBO homes and are careful about doing our research.
After several days of complete relaxation and enjoyment, we would place this property and our experience of it near the top of our many stays in VRBO's.
Highlights for us:
Absolutely stunning view of Hood Canal and the “Great Bend.”
The incredible snow-capped Olympic Mountains to the west.
Lot’s of spacious deck space equipped with solid, good quality deck furniture - it’s where we lived.
We loved how high tide came right up to the base of the steel step ladder off the deck which makes its way down to the beach. It was during that time I sat near the last rung and dangled my feet in the water.
And what a bonus to have such an abundance of visible clams and oyster shells during low tide.
We particularly appreciated good, timely communications with the owner.
We felt the property was a reasonably priced vacation rental consistent with quality and condition of the home, and, the variety of amenities provided.
Kitchen was recently remodeled and well equipped (we cooked-in often).
The home was quite clean with up-to-date furnishings.
We appreciate a willingness to accept a well behaved pet.
A beautiful well-kept cottage garden in the front. It greets you coming and going.
And … the small but entirely meaningful things:
Packaged soap and shampoos.
Heated bathroom tiling.
All expected quality towel sets (esp. large towels) neatly folded until you’re ready for them.
Good remote control directions for use of the flat screen TV, DVD and Roku (we used two out of three).
Out-door grill (happened to be just like ours). We used it once for Chicken Kabobs.
We especially appreciated the stretched “sunscreen panel” positioned high above the grill and deck dining table. It was a hot day and it screened the sun while I was grilling.
We live in Port Angeles, WA. Now recently retired we seek opportunities to take short trip get-a-ways, just like this one.
As an aside, we travelled into Shelton (20 minutes or so) one morning for breakfast (Sister’s Cafe) and to visit the grocery (Fred's). Nice scenic trip. Fond memories already of our trip, and, we’re passing the word.
Water and Mountain views
Beautiful spot. The house was very well outfitted for all our needs. Very comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. We will come again.
Nice stay on Hood canal
Great location in quite Union Washington. Loved being directly on the water and access to Olympic National Forest.
Highly recommend this property to anyone. The pictures are accurate; the view is incredible. Owners were great to work with. There are dog-friendly trails and beaches nearby and a cute Marina with food and gifts, just a five minute walk away. It was wonderful to stay here.
Relax and Enjoy!
Stayed for 5 nights and really enjoyed our time. For early May we had 85 degree weather! Spent allot of time at the Olympic National Park which is close from the house. The place was very nice. Secluded and quiet. Can not ask for much more than that.
Pleasant stay and would recommend this to anyone who wants to relax, Visit the NP. or enjoy the water and all it has to offer. Thank you again Kevin!
