About Cathy Bille

Born and raised in San Francisco, I have always enjoyed spending time in Tahoe, year round. I currently live in San Francisco and travel to Tahoe for my vacations.

Cathy Bille purchased this cabin in 1998

Why Cathy Bille chose Tahoe City

I have always dreamed of owning a cabin in the Lake Tahoe area. I wanted a cabin walking distance to the lake, with beach access, but close enough to Tahoe City and Squaw Valley for skiing. Tahoe Park is the perfect location.

What makes this cabin unique

The lot my cabin sits on is 1 1/2 times a typical lot in the area. I remodeled my cabin in 1999 and planted a garden the following year. It's a very special place, especially in the summer months.

Quaint Cabin Near to the Lake with beautiful yard

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time at this quaint cabin. The outdoor space in the summer is really nicely landscaped and great for kids running around and playing in the yard. The proximity to the lake, HOA beach park, and all of the restaurants on the west shore is fantastic. The bedrooms are tight, but super cozy and well decorated. Great for 2 couples or a family of 4. There is also room in the living room where I imagine you could also sleep if needed. We had a wonderful time and would definitely return!

The only thing I might mention (similar to another reviewer) is that there are some dogs off leash in the neighborhood who sometimes come by to say hello which might not be for everyone. It didn't bother us though.

Cozy cabin close to lake and ski resorts

  • 4 of 5

My family enjoyed our stay at Cathy's west shore cabin. The cabin was a good size for a family of four and the bedrooms were very comfortable and cozy. The beds are amazing and we enjoyed relaxing by the fireplace. The kitchen is small but very well stocked. We were a short drive away from ski resorts and Tahoe City and had nice meals at Sunnyside and Firesign Cafe near the cabin. The only downside was the amount of big unsupervised dogs that live on the street...they were too "friendly" to my kids (we are not dog people) and left their poop all over the driveway and the back/side yard of the cabin. Not a fault of the cabin owner but worth noting if you don't want to be greeted by dog poop every time you step outside of the cabin.

Owner's Response: Glad you had a good time! Sorry about the dogs. My neighbors usually pick up after them, so I'll have to find out what happened. Thanks for letting me know.

Perfect Tahoe experience

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved this cabin and it was perfect for our stay. Clean, well decorated and has everything you need. Our only challenge was the packed house next door with noisy teens that stay up late so probably not the best for families with little children who go to bed early.

Owner's Response: Paige, I am sorry about the neighbors ,it looks like they had a family reunion last week. They are rarely in town (I believe it was the first time they came up all summer) and I've never had a complaint about the noise is over 5 years. Sorry about that! Cathy

Comfy cozy cottage

  • 5 of 5

Convenient, cozy, comfortable, well-appointed, well-maintained cabin. Walkable to Sunnyside & other local restaurants [Fire Sign Cafe, Spoon] & market. Close to Tahoe City & the bike path. Master bedroom has an exceptionally comfortable bed & extremely effective blackout shades if you are one that likes to sleep late. Second bedroom is smaller. Bedrooms are upstairs, bathroom [which is newly remodeled] is downstairs. Large deck & back yard.

Classic Tahoe decor. Well equipped kitchen; we cooked & had everything we needed. Very nice responsive owner.

The cabin is walking distance from Sunnyside resort/restaurant and a private 2 1/2 acre homeowners beach. It's located on a bike path that runs for 20+ miles along the west shore.
