We live locally in Belfast. We purchased the cottage because we will soon be moving out of our big old house on the ocean in Belfast into a smaller home away from the shore.
Eventually, the cottage will be our water-side get-away, a place where we and our grandchildren will enjoy playing together. But we don't need to use it until we leave the ocean; so until then, we are making it available to others.
Jeffrey mabee purchased this cottage in 2011
The moment we saw this cottage, we knew it was what we had been looking for. We love the feeling of privacy, the beauty of the lake, all the trees around us. The lake is clean, has no public access, and boats are limited to motors that are 10hp or under.
Yet, it's not in the wilderness. It's a short drive to lots of cultural and recreational activities that will be fun for us and for our family.
I can't imagine a more relaxing place to be than sitting and looking out at the lake from the living room, the deck or the wharf.
We had a wonderful time in Maine and loved this cottage on the lake. We enjoyed the lake, the kayak and fire pit and the cabin had everything we needed. Very quiet and so peaceful there. We would recommend this to anyone.
We had a lovely time at the cottage on Coleman Pond and found it very quiet and relaxing. The cabin was clean and tidy and in nice condition. However, I would like to make a few suggestions. I think for what is being charged, that a working TV is a must. Had we known there was no TV, we would not have rented the cottage as my husband is a huge sports fan. Also, the rowboat is really a dinghy that was hardly usable as it took on water. Luckily, there was a very nice canoe that we could use, but we could not find any paddles other than the rowboat ones so I would suggest investing in some good canoe paddles. The last suggestion is that the beds should be made up before we arrive. Also, it was an imposition to have to launder the sheets and towels on the day of departure. This seems to me a service that the owner should provide. We have rented many places on Coleman Pond and through VRBO and have never had to do our own linen laundry. Regardless of these issues, we loved our stay there, but would not rent again unless a working TV was available.
A fabulous spot on beautiful Coleman's pond - we feasted on lobster and s'mores, swam with the kids in the warm lake water, kayaked and paddleboarded every day, lay on the dock beneath the shooting stars and had quick trips into Lincolnville Beach, Camden and Rockland for outings. It's a lovely little cabin, nothing too fancy - thin walls and doors, but comfortable beds and linens and a good stash of games and novels. The kitchen had the basics and was big enough to host the extended family for meals. We barely ran into neighbors and only twice were there motorized boats. Almost like having a private nature sanctuary. A great stay! Thanks!
What a nice simple little cabin

Cottage is in Lincolnville on clean, quiet Coleman Pond, a wonderful place for swimming and small boats. It is a 15 min drive from Belfast or Camden, and a 5 min drive to an ocean beach. The public beach on the ocean is a sunny stretch of sand for playing, relaxing or swimming with great lobster and clams served in a nearby restaurant or as takeout.
Belfast and Camden are both charming sea-side towns with interesting shops, delightful restaurants, weekly farmer's markets, theaters, groceries and many other conveniences. A hospital is a 20 min drive.
The area is famous for its lovely hiking trails. Schooner sails are available. Canoes and kayaks can be rented.
