I am a retired custom home builder. We searched and searched for just the right location and there is none better for privacy and seclusion. We built the main house in 1994 and added the Casita approximately in 2004.
Since there are 4 of us here, I thought I'd throw in my personal entry.
This is my 5th time here and it just keeps getting better. Nice knowing where everything is. The weather was incredible. Seven days of blue sky and 80 degrees. I finally got to bring out my rifle and managed to hit targets at 1000 yds. We drove out north of Camp Wood. Great time by all. Thanks for everything.
We intended to do some sight seeing while in the area and decided to just stay put. The pictures of the casita do not do it justice. Although the pictures are accurate, there is no way to photograph the peace and quiet. The back of the casita overlooks the national forest and Jim provided seed to draw the birds to the deck to feed. Very entertaining. We plan to return.
My wife and I stayed at the Casita for 10 glorious days. The views, amenities, and the owner were 1st rate. We could not have asked for a more perfect situation and will return someday.
Excellent and Recommend Highly!
Stayed at the Casita for 5 days with a friend. The Casita is spacious and has all the amenities - from a fully stocked kitchen and washer/dryer to hot tub and gas grill in the private desert landscaped backyard. Enjoyed several wonderful hikes in the Tonto National Forest (accessible right from the back yard). One special hike took us to the location of a literal garden of petroglyphs - this is a must see for anyone who enjoys an interesting hike off the beaten path.
Our host at the Casita was as obliging as could be. Readily available when we had questions but otherwise respected our privacy. As a long-time local resident, he's a wealth of information about the area.
In short, you can't go wrong with this VRBO. I enjoyed a quick tour of the main residence and property - this is equally as lovely. The infinity pool associated with the main house looks very inviting. I'm hoping for a return visit (so much more to explore in the area) and can recommend this property and the host without reservation.
Great spot, exactly as described by owner. Was perfect for our requirements.
I stayed here for about a week in January and used it as a base for hiking day trips. There are quite a few regional parks and of course Tonto Nat'l Forest nearby, so it's a short distance to a wide assortment of trails. The casita is clean and attractive and the owner is very helpful. I loved the location, which is at the end of the road right by the national forest, but only a short drive to supermarkets. Cave Creek and Carefree are very attractive areas also only a short drive away. I hope to stay there again and would certainly recommend it.
I (the wife), found this beautiful casita for my husband & friend to stay at for a week. Now, my husband & I, have been married for 33 lonnnggg, wonderful years, and we both thought it would be a good time to travel. He & his friend, met up with our friend in Desert Hills. The guys, were nervous (well, my husband & I) whether this was the place. Needless to say, they loved it. My husband called and said, they couldn't believe the beauty on site and how CLEAN the Casita was. George's friend, loved the cleanliness of this place. He was called Felix by the end of the week.
I have to say, my experience, as the wife, dealing with Jim, the owner, is WAY over the top. We have rented homes throught the country, and this place is superior.
They had such a great stay that we (the family) are staying a few days, Christmas week and also reserved again, late June, after our youngest son, graduates.
If you are new at renting home on line or a "polished professional", you won't be disappointed. Just the beauty of the desert along, draws me, with that beautiful pool....
