Beach Institute Condo Rental Photos and Description

Awesome cottage style condo in downtown Savannah with a pool. It was built in the late 1800's and is listed as a historic property. This is a great place to spend your stay in Savannah at a great price. It is about three blocks from Forsyth Park and one block from the start of the St. Patrick's Day parade. The condo is well within walking distance or a short bike ride of River Street and about a 15-20 minute drive from Tybee Island. It features a dedicated off-street parking space. The condo has been recently renovated and features a full kitchen with granite and stainless, washer and dryer, small outside porch, living room with flat screen television, one bedroom and a pull out queen sofa in the living room. There are two original fireplaces, hardwood floors and crown moulding and trim throughout.

Need room for additional family or friends? This property can be rented with VRBO 466587 for a total of 8 people.

Everything downtown Savannah has to offer is nearby including historic tours, fine dining, tours, great nightlife, museums, mansions, art galleries, parks, coffee shops and much more!

nice spot

  • 4 of 5

The condo could use a little fixing up. A good section of tiles in the shower were falling off and couldn't get the wifi to work. The sliding door in the rear had no handle on the outside hard to get back in the condo. The inside of the condo was nice and clean. The entry door porch looked like it could use new wood. The grocery store was block away that was nice. It is in walking distance to most of the attractions, the river front was about a mile and a half but a good walk. Didn't get a chance to use the pool. Over all a nice place, just needs a little TLC. Would stay there again.

Charming, but could use some updates.

  • 3 of 5

The pictures on VRBO are somewhat misleading, as you actually enter from the rear and not the entrance shown online. While charming, a new clean shower curtain liner and new pillows for sleeping would be a good investment, in addition to a pillow top for the sofa sleeper. Since the windows don't open, it was a little musty, but clean. The washer and dryer were nice to have. Overall, you get what you pay for. If you are accustomed to nicer accommodations, I would not rent this rental.

It was clean with room for four, had and equipped kitchen, met my needs

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed using the vacation rental as a base for attending a wedding on East Broad St. It is very close to East Bay and most of the historic area. The only problem encountered was keeping a wifi signal. The router needs attention.

The condo was absolutely perfect! While it may not be the "best" part of town, it was SO convenient to Kroger's (grocery store), Forsyth Park, the Mansion and more. We stayed during a heat wave (ok, most of this summer has seen heat waves all along the East Coast) and we were blessed with the use of the pool after walking around the city all day. I highly recommend it and it was much more affordable, and more healthy, than staying in a hotel and having to buy our own meals. Darling place!

My only complaints: tile in the shower needs to be repaired, the back sliding door should have an exterior handle for re-entry after a day in the pool, and we couldn't get the Wi-Fi to work.

We WILL be returning to this cottage whenever traveling to Savannah! Thank you!

Loved the old building charm

  • 4 of 5

The age of this home was definitely one of its charms, and also one of its drawbacks. It was very clean and the air conditioner worked very well (which is of utmost importance in Savannah in July). The kitchen had great appliances and was decently equipped (if you plan on cooking, bring a pan), and the washer/dryer was great, especially with a toddler. We LOVED the pool, and since we were up early every day with said toddler, we had the pool to ourselves. That was probably the very best part of our stay here. Plus Julia, who lives in a nearby condo full time, was super nice. For the bad: The tub in the bathroom is pulling down away from the wall tiles—old house settlement issues—and the floor tiles, while again very clean, are pulling up from the floor and move a bit. It was a bit unnerving, but once we got over the worry of it, not bad at all. Just be warned. Also, we had trouble with the internet, which Brant graciously texted me back about, but I didn't get the text until we left Savannah—Verizon and LTE are spotty in that area. If you have issues, I would email Brant instead of texting. All in all, we loved the pool and the A/C and had a great time.

Loved it!

  • 5 of 5

We had so much fun during our weekend stay! The location is perfect- about 30 minutes from Tybee Island and a $5-10 uber to get to River Street. + We loved being able to walk out the back door and hangout at the pool. Would definitely stay again for our next trip back to Savannah!
