We're all from Mt. Ida, and grew up spending family time on Lake Ouachita. We built this Cabin to be the family's private retreat closer to the lake, however some of our famly have moved away and the property isn't being used as often as we'd planned, so we'd like to share our little piece of paradise with others. We are open to suggestions to making it the best we can make it. We can't wait to hear what traditions and memories your family created!
Betsy Byers purchased this cabin in 2012
This house is secluded enough to be serene but is conveniently located close to the lake. It doesn't get much better than this log cabin!
I love how this Cabin has all the comforts of home, yet is placed on top of a mountain with a great view, which the huge wrap around decks really take advantage of. I could (and often have) sit outside all day and night.
This home away from home vacation spot was perfect for our mini vacation. It was close enough to everything (the beautiful water, restaurants, gas station, horseback riding, etc.) but at the same time far enough away to give you that "cabin feel." The cabin is clean, spacious, and has everything you need to make your stay comfortable. We also felt safe being behind a gate that requires a code to enter. The owners are great to work with and overall we were pleased with our stay. We WILL be back!!
We stayed at this cabin over Spring Break this year and the whole family enjoyed our stay tremendously. The kids loved walking out the front door looking for crystals and roasting s'mores in the open fire pit. The cabin itself was comfortable with great views of the stars from the outside porch. Tthe foose ball table was fun and created several rounds of friendly, family competition! There were numerous activities within close distance of the cabin including biking, hiking and horse back riding.
I couldn't be more pleased with this beautiful, well-appointed cabin. Bed and linens were comfortable. Kitchen is well-stocked and the porches were so lovely. Initially the road noise was bothersome, but the roads calmed after Friday. The proximity is actually a blessing, as the highway will take you quickly to Hot Springs, Mt. Ida or deeper into the Ouachita Lake wilderness. We spent days hiking, evenings cooking and gathered around the fire pit. Highly recommend a stay here!
The home was very nice, and conveniently located to everything. Lots of cool quartz rocks around the house to check out, and the family foosball tournament was a blast. Thank you Betsy!
We booked the cabin last minute, and we were not disappointed (although I would have preferred it be further off the highway). The home was beautiful and cozy, and Betsy and Larry took care of our every need...despite the weather, and a few unexpected glitches, we enjoyed ourselves tremendously and would recommend this cabin to friends and family...and did I mention the rocks we hauled home?
Very comfortable, beautiful and relaxing place. Betsy has provided all kinds of home comforts to make your time here one that you will not forget! Enjoyed the nice gas fireplace! Digging for crystals was lots of fun as well. The cabin is very easy to get to as it sits right on hwy 270. It was very nice to have Direct TV and satellite internet. As described this cabin does not have an iron or ironing board....so bring it if you need it. The cabin has lots of obscured windows that let in the sunshine! My wife and I had a wonderful time! Thank you!
Great place to Locate wildlife in the Quachita National Forest and only 10 mins from Lake Quachita, home of some of the best fishing and outdoor activities in Arkansas this cabin is a perfect retreat for any family that wants to get cozy by the fireplace and still have the comforts of a spacious home. Careful you might fall in love.
