About Katia Paradis

We built our dream house property in 2008 and feel it is the best place to live in Belize!

Katia Paradis purchased this house in 2008

Why Katia Paradis chose Belize

The property sets on the top of a breezy hill with a majestic view we never get tired of looking at. It offers the privacy and intimacy of a resort while not being too isolated and close to the groceries store and bustling village life. In fact, we were not the first one to find this location as a premium spot, while building the foundations of the house, we found 2 ancient Mayan foundations laying one on top of another. We believe it is a great property for those who go for the car rental option, preferably a SUV, either in San Ignacio or Belize City and explore the area at their own rhythm without being bound to any schedule. The road access to the house is a dirt path, often bumpy, that gets muddy on rainy season.

What makes this house unique

On days where everyone complains about heat and humidity and get to our place, they are always surprised by how much more comfortable and cooler it is up there.

Guestbook comments from the manager

Our stay was amazing and the staff was perfect. Our only need was more pool towels. If we decide to come back to Belize with another couple we will absolutely be contacting you. Thank you for sharing your home. We loved our time there.

Beautiful. Peaceful. Quiet.

Beautiful home with stunning views and gardens. The housekeeper and caretaker were so helpful. We were cooked a fabulous dinner and taught how to make flour and corn tortillas and papusas. Fresh fruit and a bottle of wine were awaiting our arrival. Plenty of birdwatching right off the back porch. Ruins, waterfalls and many tours available VERY close. The weekend market in town is a must do. Tons of fresh fruit and veggies. Being from Texas my main concern was being without AC. Well, that surely wasn't a problem. Very breezy there on the hill. Even got a bit chilly at night. I would have no reservations about staying there again. The house is huge with plenty of places to get in some private reading or napping time. Don't hesitate to book this house.

We loved our stay at the Casa Hill View house! A fantastic place to base your Belize adventures from

  • 5 of 5

From our initial communications with Katia to our actual stay, the CHV house exceeded all expectations! As stated a modern house with all the touches and more. We loved our stay here the property is immaculately taken care of by Richard. The dogs were nice and the location is great. Nice breezes and views on the top of the hill. Consuelo and her daughter were great they fed us well and taught us how to make tamales and tortillas. From the first greeting we felt like they are family and will miss them until our return. I can't recommend this place enough!

Gorgeous home and view with great location

  • 5 of 5

My family of 5 totally enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home. View is fantastic, looking over the hills and jungle. Hospitality was outstanding upon arrival and departure; with caretaker checking in with us. A car is required to get to the house, which really is on a hill-top but only 5-10 minute drive into San Ignacio.

We enjoyed restaurants and market in San Ignacio, nearby Mayan ruins, jungle treks, and caving. I would definitely stay here again -- and stay longer next time!

Thank you!

Amazing modern house in the jungle

  • 5 of 5

We have rented many houses through years and this must be one of the BEST house ever!!! Beautiful design and so spacious. Everything is super clean and comfortable. You can tell that the owner puts lot of thought into building this house. She was so helpful with planning our trip and gave us many helpful tips.

Our two kids loved swimming in the pool while I relaxed and enjoyed watching birds. Huge toucan came right next to the beautiful:)

The house keeper is an amazing and kind lady. Not only she made our stay super comfortable and memorable, she was kind to teach our kids how to make home made tortillas. Kids loved making it with her and tried to converse in Spanish that they learned at school. The cheese quesadilla that they made was SO good!

We drove up Tikal in Guatemala on our own which was super fun. It was a enjoyable 2 hours drive from the house. We stopped by the lakeside town in Guatemala to enjoy the view and had a good meal( advice from the owner).

We could not have asked a better vacation. We would definitely come back!!

Owner's Response: Thank you Saori, it was great to have you all and you have been great guests to host. I have to admit I am jealous: a toucan nearby the pool, wow! We hope to see you again in Belize and wish you the best.

Views, Serenity and an Amazing Pool!!!

  • 4 of 5

Casa Hill View could not be in a more lovely location. The view from the deck as you have dinner and have had a chance to cool off in the pool is amazing. Rooms were big and spacious. It was very, very clean and in great shape. The road to get there is definitely 4 WD car needed. Especially if it has rained! The kitchen is good but lacked some basic things like a match box with matches in it. There were plenty of cups and dishes, no saran wrap or anything like that. Silly stuff. The coffee pot is a 4 cup Mr. Coffee and the French Press was a bit worn. We got a bit lost getting there and the housekeeper who we were to contact if we got lost speaks no English and I sadly and wrongly so traveling in another country no Spanish. We found it and got a tour of the home in Spanish which fortunately my son understands well enough to get what she was telling us. If not for him, we would have been clueless. Beds were nice, sheets good. It was very nice to have the house cleaned half way through our stay. The pool is great. The porch doors opening into the master bedroom and the breeze was also amazing. We were two adults with 18 and 21 year old sons. Would stay here again, and the owner was amazing in getting back to us all the time, everytime.

Owner's Response: Thanks Tony! It is so helpful when guests tell me what needs to be replace. I bought a larger Italian expresso coffee pot for 6 and put a note not to forget to replace matches. People are surprise when they come to the Western part of Belize which is similar a bit to the Northern part where there is a lot of Spanish going on, to realize workers mainly speaks Spanish. Our manager is so good that I really want to keep her even if she doesn't master English yet. She's trying really hard but thanks for the note, I'll give my guests a 2nd phone number so they can speak with someone total fluent in English if needed, especially on the first day where driving on streets with no names!
