This was our first time to SF and couldn't have been happier with the property. From the very beginning, the owner went out of her way to respond very quickly and was very accommodating. We took many tours and this location was a great spot for walking to Pier 39 to meet for them. The property was very clean and stocked with everything to get you started. We did utilize the bikes available at the location which was great to bike to the Golden Gate Bridge and free breakfast was great for a few days we were leaving early. If we ever go back I would stay here again for sure. We did take an uber to eat 2 nights away from things and to the Giants game and the property seems to also have them near by. We never waited more than 3 min.
First time over on the west coast and I'm glad we chose this condo. We searched for weeks for suitable self catering accommodation which was comfortable and accessible to public transport or walkable if you are feeling fit.
I was celebrating my 70th so sometimes needed to jump on a cable car after seeing the sights! We spent a week here so bought a weekly pass for all transport - good value. All the staff at the Fairmont Heritage were excellent and nothing was too much trouble. Buffet breakfasts were certainly adequate and the cheese and wine in the evenings was a lovely touch, something to look forward to before going out to dinner. Several restaurants within walking distance and a car available if you wanted to go further afield. The views from the condo were fantastic - sweeping panoramas from just east of Alcatraz round to Sausalito in the distance. Could not fault accommodation itself - very comfortable. Owners were very prompt and courteous in their replies. Will definitely recommend.
My fiance and I stayed here last week for 3 nights. It was his first time in San Francisco, and although I'm from the Bay Area, it was my first time staying at a hotel in SF. I was having a difficult time searching for a hotel in SF bec the rates were ridiculous for a decent size room or suite, until I stumbled upon this property on VRBO. Having lived in LV for many years, I've stayed and seen alot of beautiful hotels, and this place at Ghirardelli square definitely tops the list. Upon check in, they gave me a 2 bedroom unit (totally unexpected) and truly was more space than we needed, but the additional space or the entire place made our stay feel like we were at home. The astonishing views of the water/city from our roof top was phenomenal. The service was amazing and the staff (concierge, valet, the butler) were very pleasant and attentive from check-in to checkout. The photos provided on the site is exactly what you will get, if not, more. The bedrooms were designed tastefully, and for a couple like us in our early 30s, we found the bedroom with overlooking the tub and shower, a very nice touch. Every room in this place - bedroom, living room, and even the den up top - provided such comfort with style. The location was awesome, very close to a lot of restaurants, and walking distance to the pier. My fiance and I were immensely impressed by this property. I can go on and on about how wonderful this place is, but to keep short and simple: This hotel, and the entire staff made my fiance's first trip to SF and our stay very memorable, and for that, WE THANK YOU!!!
Thought we were getting a one bedroom condo... It was two bedroom, two bath. Location great. Walking distance to local hot spots and town car was available up to 2 miles.
Owners were great, answered all questions quickly. Also made crib available for our grandson.
We have used VRBO a lot, both in US and abroad and this unit was way above our expectations.
Would recommend this unit and location to anyone looking for a San Francisco stay.
This is by far the best location in San Francisco to stay for a getaway. We certainly had an idea of what to expect from the pictures, but out expectations were even surpassed. Whether you are staying for a long weekend or a week, the accommodations are immaculate and a home away from home. While we enjoyed the sights (and the amazing food) that SF had to offer, we were torn because we knew we had a such a great place to come "home" to.
Just around the block is the Buena Vista with the best Irish coffee I have ever had. The concierge helped make last minute reservations and always had great suggestions. We had great Italian at Rose Pistola. The car and driver was such plus in a city with limited parking which made getting out a pleasure with much less stress. Golden Gate Park is nearby and a walk along the water to the base of the bridge was perfect one afternoon. Fisherman's Wharf is just a few blocks away. Pier 39 is a bit farther down with the aquarium. Day trips to Alcatraz or Angel Island are in the area.
We brought in a few things to snack on for breakfast or quick snacks, but if we stayed longer cooking in the full-sized kitchen would have been fun. This was the perfect mix of home comforts and vacation luxury.
Definitely plan on returning. Just trying to figure out when.
Located on the waterfront at Ghirardelli Square between Marina and Fisherman's Wharf near Pier 39, North Beach and the Embarcadero. One block away from Cable Car turnaround.
