About Nancy Wold
We are Diane Memmer and Nancy Wold. We are sisters and grew up on a cattle ranch up the creek from where our cottages now sit. Our parents and brother still own and operate the ranch. We decided to put in the cottages when Nancy moved back to Buffalo two years ago and purchased 5 1/2 acres. We both have been business owners for many years and decided to have vacation rentals to finance our vacations!!
Nancy Wold purchased this Cottage in 2016
Why Nancy Wold chose Buffalo
This property has wonderful mountain views and French creek access. It is very close to Buffalo and the Fair Grounds. Nancy lives on the property and has room to indulge in her passion for flower gardening. Come sit in the garden with your morning coffee, or go down by the creek and and listen to the birds. We are close enough to town to walk in to see the western museum, and shop for art and antiques. (about a mile). You may also want to visit Buffalo's huge free park and swimming pool.
What makes this Cottage unique
These are new cottages in 2016 and we chose the layout because we loved the porch and front windows. We have all the advantages of the country but are still close enough to town to take advantage of local restaurants and other small community activities.

Everything just fine .
Third time at this facility. Everything nice, in new condition, and clean. Perfect for our needs.
Nice place, but...
We stayed in Cabin #2 and it was overall a nice place to call “home” for a few days. It is furnished nicely with new furniture and was clean. It’s just outside of town – less than 5 minute drive to downtown Buffalo. I really enjoyed the porch out front (only wished it was on the back side to view the mountains).
A few things I’d like to mention because these items dropped my star rating and I would have appreciated knowing before I booked. 1. The air conditioner runs VERY LOUD. Not only the unit but in the duct work. 2. Water pressure in the shower is very low and water temperature is lukewarm, at best. 3. The queen bed is a very firm bed. The futons in the other room at not quite so firm and worked for us (who like relaxed/semi soft beds). 4. There is no table or desk in the unit ~ only dining seating is at the breakfast bar with stools.
Again, it’s a nice place but I wanted to inform potential renters of a few things we discovered.
Very clean, new cabins in a quite setting!!
We had a wonderful 10 days in Buffalo, with
Great accommodations, and Nancy was very nice and very helpful!! Can't wait to return next year!!
Beautiful, clean cottages!
We stayed 3 nights and absolutely loved our accomodations! The cabin is stocked with everything you need including a washer and dryer! The property is very well maintained and we loved sitting on the porch watching the deer in the morning and evenings. Definately staying again next time we are in Buffalo!
Beautiful places right outside of town!
The cottages were great for our two families! Very well maintained with the perfect essentials plus some! We love the Big Horn Mountains and would definitely stay here again!
Crazy Woman Cottage, Perfect Get Away in Buffalo
We liked our cottage and the Big Horns area around Buffalo so much that we extended our stay for two nights and wished for more. The new cottages are spotlessly clean with hard surface floors, a comfortable mattress and no clutter. The efficient kitchen includes basic utensils, two sizes of pots, an omelette pan and a cookie sheet along with Chocolate cookie dough in the frig!
We picked up a Forestry Service Map-a necessity, and explored many gravel roads in the mountains including Crazy Woman Canyon. We saw Moose, birds, turkeys, deer, rabbits, elk and wildflowers everywhere. Nancy invited us to enjoy her lovely garden and shaded seating area over looking French Creek. We enjoyed walks along Clear Creek Trail that winds through Buffalo and beyond.
The town of Buffalo has great food! Pie Zanos has the most delicious and creative pizzas ever! They use corn meal in their crust and bake pizza in a brick oven. We also had great bean soup and sandwiches for lunch at Sagewood Cafe and stopped by the Historic Occidental Hotel Saloon for a brew.
Since I am a gardener, Nancy suggested the UCross Chapel Garden where we also saw an amazing art exhibit, The Universal Language of Birds, at the UCross Foundation Art Gallery (June 10-December 1, 2017.) Visiting the Gatchell Museum in Buffalo provided an overview of historic happenings of the area.
The Big Horn Mountains are beautiful! Visiting the Medicine Wheel was quite the experience but, I loved seeing many Alpine meadow wildflowers most of all!
Our stay at Crazy Woman was July 12-18; we are already thinking of a return trip.
