About the property

Fully equipped clean and comfortable very central 1-king bed + sofabed and wifi

This beautiful heart of Central London contemporary apartment is offered in excellent condition. It has a kingsize bed.

You'll have a great stay. It is fully furnished with everything ready to provide an enjoyable and comfortable home from home in London. There is free wifi access.

We offer a top location in trendy Fitzrovia, in the heart of the West End, a super central spot with a villagey feel and Georgian architecture. The area was once home to such writers as Virginia Woolf, George Bernard Shaw and Arthur Rimbaud. Today it is a popular and lively neighbourhood with a residential and business mix. The numerous media companies based in the area feed into a vibrant buzz.

There is a good range of shops and a huge choice of delicious restaurants and bars. Tourist London is easily accessible on foot or by tube. Several supermarkets are close by (including a good Sainsburys, Tescos, Marks and Spencers Food Hall and Waitrose isn’t far).

The flat is on an upper level (with lift) and is set out over one floor. It benefits from good natural light. The property is set at the rear of the building (so quiet for sleeping) and overlooks the local landmark, the impressive BT Tower.

The light and bright bedroom (4.1m x 2.9m) has a neutral decor. There is a comfortable kingsize bed, double fitted mirrored wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside table. There are full-length white curtains and separate blackout blinds.

The living room (3.9m x 2.9m) has large double glazed windows. The room is painted white and has woodstrip flooring. There is a large comfortable sofa that opens to a large double sofabed, flatscreen TV/DVD with freeview, a selection of DVDs and a dining table and chairs.

The living room and kitchen are open plan. The kitchen (2.4m x 2.6m) has plenty of cupboard space and a full range of integrated appliances including microwave, electric oven, hob, coffee machine, dishwasher and washer/dryer. The separate fridge and freezer both have good storage space. Kitchen utensils are provided. There is an iron and an ironing board.

The bathroom has a full-sized bath with power shower unit, handbasin, bathroom cabinet, heated towel rail and WC. The floor is tiled and the walls are partially tiled / partially painted.

This is great opportunity to enjoy a smart, attractive property in an wonderful and safe area. The apartment is in a secure, recently renovated, quiet block with 43 flats in Fitzrovia, W1, bordering Fitzroy Square.

All Central London attractions can be reached easily by foot or by public transport. The British Museum, British Library, Soho, Covent Garden, Oxford Street and Regent’s Park etc are a walk away. Warren Street, Euston Square, Goodge Street and Tottenham Court Road tubes are close by. The City is a 20 minute door-to-door tube journey.

Bookings are for a minimum of 3 nights.

The rent is fully inclusive of unlimited wifi and all bills (apart from outgoing telephone).

About Liz

We are Liz and Jack. We look forward to welcoming you to London. We manage five holiday let properties in Fitzrovia, central London, as well as many long let properties. We know the area well and can thoroughly recommend it for its central location, great transport links (although you'll probably be mostly on foot as tourist London is very walkable!) and wide choice of bars and restaurants. It's a highly desirable neighbourhood with beautiful architecture and interesting streets. People come from all over London to enjoy some Fitzrovia life. We're lucky enough to be based here and hope to see you here too! We have been letting our properties for the past 8 years. We hope we've perfected a warm and professional welcome. We're very happy to help with questions (before or during your stay) or to tailor any trip to suit your needs so just let us know if there's anything we can do. We look forward to seeing you in London!

Why Liz chose Westminster & West End

The local area is buzzing but the flat is in a quiet street so you get the best of both worlds. There’s a huge array of bars and restaurants in the area, including in nearby Charlotte Street and neighboring Soho. For entertainment, you have Theatreland close by, numerous cinemas, comedy clubs, late night bars, dancing and nightclubs. If shopping appeals, you can shop til you drop in nearby Oxford Street, Regent Street, Covent Garden, Carnaby Street, Camden Market and Bond Street. They are all a walk away. For outside life, neighboring Fitzroy Square is a peaceful and pleasant place to enjoy a sandwich and watch the world go by. Alternatively, it’s a 10 minute walk to Regent’s Park, a wonderful 410-acre open space offering stylish gardens with cafés, rose and wildlife gardens, a boating lake, sports facilities, an open-air theatre and zoo.

Some shortcomings but good overall

  • 4 of 5

I recently stayed in this apartment with my husband and 8 month old son for about a week. While overall this was a nice accommodation, it did have some shortcomings that I think mentioning would be helpful to future renters.

When we arrived, the weather was warm (about 85F outside each day) and would cool considerably at night. Unfortunately, the apartment itself was very hot with little circulation. The windows only cracked at the bottom and the two oscillating fans in the apartment didn't help much. Our baby monitor was measuring the apartment at 82F at night when it was between 65-70F outside. This made sleeping pretty uncomfortable. We were also a bit frustrated that the bed had only a fitted sheet and a light comforter with a duvet on it. Sleeping under a comforter was too uncomfortable, so we actually went out and bought a flat sheet that would be cooler.

Aside from the temperature and bedding issues, we had a good stay. This was our first trip with our baby, and I think a little more space would have been more comfortable for us, but that's no fault of the apartment itself, just a tip if you are considering staying here with a small child. The kitchen was well equipped with a small fridge, small freezer, a small washer/dryer (all within the same appliance), and a stove/oven that I couldn't figure out how to work when I tried to boil some water so I gave up. We didn't use much in the cabinets, but there was a good amount of dishes and utensils.

The bed itself was comfortable. The pillows were flat and uncomfortable for our taste. Everything was clean. The floors were actually still a bit wet when we arrived, so I know they had been mopped before we arrived. It was helpful that the building has a lift to the 6th floor where this unit is located since we had a stroller. Be advised that there are a couple of steps in the lobby of the building between the main door and the lift. This wasn't an issue for us, but it's worth mentioning. The building was very quiet on a quiet street and was a good central location for our home base with multiple tube stops within walking distance. There are also lots of bars, restaurants, coffee shops, and stores within easy walking distance.

Communication with Liz was easy and she was helpful with preparing for the trip, recommendations, and was easy to reach while we were there.

Overall, we had a nice stay, but I hope these tips help others decide if this is the best choice for them.

Owner's Response: Dear MAV, thanks for taking the time to write a review. I'm glad you enjoyed your trip, particularly as it was the first one with your baby - always a challenging experience! I wish you'd contacted us about the couple of issues you'd had. The windows open fully - in fact, once you release the lock, they rotate 360 degrees round. We did send the instructions on our welcome email but we'd have been happy to have gone over it again with you. Likewise with the stove/oven, we'd could have helped with that if you'd let us know. I'm pleased your stay was otherwise enjoyable. So nice that your baby got a good first taste of London. We hope to welcome you back on a future occasion. Warmly, Liz

Great location with everything you need in a compact apartment

  • 5 of 5

My daughter and I loved the location of this apartment. There were several tube stops within easy walking distance. Many attractions were within walking distance too, along with great theatre and restaurants. The apartment had everything we needed, and there were loads of grocery stores within steps of the apartment. The host was very responsive and nice. We would definitely stay there again.

Nice Apartment ! Great Location !

  • 5 of 5

The flat was very nice . The kitchen had the major necessities. The washer/ dryer was so helpful for our week vacation but can only do small loads at a time. The sofa in the living area was comfortable but the only seating available. The bedroom was spacious enough and the bed very comfortable. WE especially liked that the hallway between the bedroom and living room allowed for those areas to be closed off and provide quiet when needed. The location was terrific !! It is so close to restaurants, pubs , shopping and grocery stores. We enjoy walking but when needed several underground stations were close .

Liz was very helpful when planning our trip and also once we were in London . She provided information regarding travel from Heathrow and also had a booklet in the flat for reference to activities, restaurants , shops , sight seeing and travel outside of London. It was a lovely stay!

Great West End home base for a London visit

  • 5 of 5

The flat is in a very convenient location. It was a short walk to bus stop, and tube stations. It was only a 10 minute walk to Oxford Street and 15 minutes to Shaftsbury Avenue. We simply walked to Soho and Covent Garden several times, but also hopped the bus or tube when we wanted to. (Oyster card is indispensable...)

The bed was comfortable, the internet worked flawlessly, and the flat has everything needed to cook (Freezer, Fridge, and Dishwasher). Charlotte Street restaurant row begins a short few blocks away so we only used the kitchen for breakfast. The Washer/Dryer was perfect for small loads (you must read the manual to set it properly.) The heaters threw off plenty of heat when we came back from our daily wanderings and turned them on.

We received a welcome document with directions and local points of interest so we knew the easy way to arrive from nearby stations (although we took Just Airports limo service from the airport). There was a folder on the dining table with additional information and a set of manuals in a drawer in the kitchen. Liz is a very thoughtful owner and a pleasure to work with. She was very responsive to emails, quickly responded to questions, and promptly refunded the security deposit.

We would gladly stay here again should our travels bring us to London in the future.
