About Richard Wm. King
The house and farm were a wedding present to my grandparents when it was built in 1915 and has been in the family since then. It was an operating farm until the mid 1980's and is now used for recreation.
Richard Wm. King purchased this House in 1915
Why Richard Wm. King chose Dixon
We have retained the property in the family due to its uniqueness. It is managed as a certified family forest. It has an orchard, prairie restoration and wildlife food plot.
What makes this House unique
The house has a unique setting, nestled in a mature oak forest. You can enjoy the beauty of nature, take advantage of the recreational opportunities or explore Dixon's quaint downtown and many historic sites. Relax on the large screened porch or sit on the patio and view wildlife.

The large dining room table and family room were perfect for family meals, games and our Christmas celebration.
It was a good impression, easy to get into the property. There were some renovations that were intended to be completed before we arrived that were not. I don’t believe it was through any fault of the owner, but it made the stay a challenge.Property was nice, games a records were present. The kitchen was missing some basic items that would normally be there (salt pepper sugar) . Overall a simple but comfortable home.
Great Weekend Stay!
There was a group of 6 (and 2 dogs) of us that stayed here over the weekend for a wedding. The house was bigger than expected! Very clean and everything as advertised. The yard is very big too, perfect for hanging outside!
Incredible visit! Great space to just relax! Plenty of room for everyone!!
Great outdoor space. Perfect for a larger group.
If you enjoy historical homes, this place fits the bill. A charming farm house with a large and private yard. If you are looking for a yard where you can play games and have plenty of space, this is perfect. The house is a good size. Kitchen is small but fits the age of the home. A nice screened porch. Dining room table seats 8. The upstairs bathroom is functional but awkward to get into if you are tall, you will need to duck. Overall an adorable and relaxing place, would visit again.
It was a beautiful place & was very private & quite.
I had 3 couples beside myself & with 4 bedrooms it was perfect the best thing was having 2 bathrooms. Their was plenty of room & the outside was great. We all enjoyed sitting on the porch. Especially since the mosquitos were bad.
We all would stay there again. Thanks for the experience.
