Overview

About the property

The perfect tropical beach getaway...

Our beach house is located directly on a beautiful secluded beach in Waimanalo, Oahu, Hawaii. Waimanalo Beach is the most beautiful beach on the island. It is one of the quietest and least crowded beaches in Hawaii. Gentle waves and soft white sand make it perfect for all to enjoy the wonderful, clear, warm water. Only 25 minutes from Waikiki and Honolulu.

Enjoy the amazing beach scenery from our new ocean deck. View beautiful sunrises along with your breakfast outside. Be enraptured in the beauty of Hawaii and Waimanalo Beach.

Our home includes two bedrooms with queen sized beds, 1 ½ bathrooms, a large living and dining room (which includes two full size sleeper sofas that convert to full size beds), and a fully equipped kitchen. Outside there is a large fenced in yard with beach accessories and just steps away is the beautiful beach and the ocean.

*******************************August 2016 Update*******************************

We recently updated the decor of the house and installed split A/C systems for all the rooms. Our kitchen remodel Is finished with new cabinets, counter tops, and appliances!

********************************************************************************

Our Aloha Getaway Home is a quiet, peaceful place to spend your vacation. Two larger cities, Kailua and Hawaii Kai, are only about 10 minutes away with many restaurants and shopping possibilities.

We also have another house on the property, our Aloha Beach Cottage which is located in the front of the lot, nearer the street. Inquire if you are looking to have a larger party wanting to stay on the same property. Each house has a private yard and they only share the driveway. The Aloha Getaway Beach House has it's privacy with it's own gate to the beach and yard.

If you are looking to experience the real Hawaii then our place is for you. We are located in an area which the Hawaiians refer to as 'God's Country'!

*Please note that we cannot host weddings, receptions or any other large parties on our property. We want to be a good neighbor.

About Eric Bennet

I was born and raised in Hawaii and live here with my son. I have owned other businesses in the past (Subway Sandwiches, tour company, classic car restoration), but rarely have I had such satisfaction as when people stay at our property and have a wonderful vacation. Knowing that a family has enjoyed their stay in Hawaii and our house reminds me of the joy I had as a both a child and father in Waimanalo and this house.

Eric Bennet purchased this house in 1980

Why Eric Bennet chose Oahu

Our family has owned this property for over 30 years and we cherish it because of beauty of the area and the tranquility of the house and beach. It is in a quiet area with the best views on the island. I have great memories of our beach house as a kid with my family as well as with my son growing up on the beach. I hope that others can also have a great experience that will stay with them for the rest of their lives.

It is the opposite of Waikiki. No crowds. The water is clean and doesn't smell of sunscreen. Some days you can look down the beach and not see another soul for 100 yards. The protective outer reefs keep most of the swell from the soft sandy bottom beach. It is great for children and and much safer than the North Shore. Because it is located in a residential neighborhood, there are few tourists, and Waimanalo is the least crowded and beautiful beach on the island.

What makes this house unique

The view from the house and beach is incredible. I cannot overstate the wonderful feeling of sitting outside on the deck and taking in the beauty of the beach, sea, mountains, and sky. The beach is soft white sand, the ocean turquoise blue and the majestic mountains green. Rabbit Island, Kāohikaipu Island State Seabird Sanctuary, the Mokulua Islands, and the Makapuu Lighthouse (a popular hike) are all visible from the house.

Get away from the crowds and relax. Isn't that what a vacation is all about?

A little slice of paradise right on Waimanalo Beach

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I rented this house for ourselves and a few friends. The house was perfect! We couldn't have asked for a better place to spend such a special week. The property owner was so helpful and took the time to answer our questions and show us around. The house was well maintained and the rooms were very comfortable. There was plenty of room for all of us (7). The view of the mountains and beach from the house was breathtaking and the sound of the ocean rocked us to sleep.

We enjoyed being only steps from the beautiful sand bottom beach. Most of the time we felt like it was our own private beach. The kids had a blast playing in the water and catching waves on their boogie boards. It was so nice to have the house right there if we needed to grab a snack or drink.

The yard was huge and we enjoyed BBQ. There was also plenty of parking.

The house was conveniently located just down the street from a few different restaurants. Our favorites were Surge's mexican food, Keneke's for Hawaiian style plate lunch, and Sweet Home Waimanalo. There is also a McDonalds right down the road. It was also a short drive to Haunama Bay for snorkeling and only minutes away from the Makapu'u Lighthouse trail, which is a highly recommended easy quick hike. The views are amazing and so worth the 25-30min walk. Kailua Town is only a 5-10 minute drive away and town is only 20-30min away.

I hope that we can rent this house again sometime in the near future and I highly recommend staying at this house!!

Amazing stay!

We had a blast at this beach house property! The owner was very organized and left us detailed instructions. The house was clean and the location was perfect for a family who wanted a quiet time away from the big city. Thank you Erick!

The location is awesome house needs improvements

  • 4 of 5

The location is the best, the yard and the proximity to the beach was awesome. I was so surprised by how much our kids enjoyed the yard, as much as they did the beach 😅. The property has a concrete fence around it so we felt pretty safe. The deck and the views are stunning. Sunrise on the deck while you enjoy your breakfast is unbeatable ! The hammock was a very nice addition to the yard loved by all the kids. The yard was pretty stocked with beach toys so we didn't need to buy any. The down side the umbrella was very old and not functioning and the beach chairs were old but still useable ( we ended up buying our own umbrella and chairs. The neighborhood felt quiet. In the two weeks we stayed there I don't think any neighbors were there except maybe for the last day. There are two homes on the property and for part of our stay the other house was also occupied. We didn't feel like we were too close to the other occupants since they had their own access to the beach. I would change one thing about that arrangement by adding a small door to the white fence, because I felt like I constantly had to keep my kids out of running out to see the kids at the other property. There was a small door on the side of the gate by the laundry and garage but not by the banana tree. The house in itself is old and needs lots of improvement. Especially the carpet 😬. The house in itself has a little bit of a musty old smell right when you walk in ( the ac was off and the windows were shut). But as soon as we opened up the windows and started the AC we didn't notice the smell unless we would shut the ac and Windows, so that wasn't an issue. The breeze from the ocean is awesome, you'll want your windows opened as much as you can. The AC units are in each of the bedrooms and the living space. It's a very nice addition to the house especially if you don't feel safe with having the windows opened at night with the kids. I heard an AC is a pretty big deal on the island and most homes don't have it, so it's a huge plus. As I've said the house is old and the paint is chipping. I was a bit worried about the chipping paint situation especially the house being old there is a possibility of the paint being a lead paint. We spent most of our times outdoors and mostly used the house while sleeping We came for the location so the house didn't bother us as much. The sheets and towels are pretty old, you might want to bring your own. We will deff rent in the fut

Fantastic Beachfront Vacation

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved the house, the beach, everything was perfect. The location is amazing. Local restaurants were great. I can't remember when I had a better vacation than this one. Highly recommend!!! You will not be disappointed. We briefly met the owner Eric when we arrived and he asked us to let him know if there was anything he might need to add to the house. Eric did a great job in setting up the house. Could not find anything that needed to be changed. We can't wait to go back!!!!

Would stay again providing some changes are made

  • 4 of 5

Things we liked:

- great location

- 5 min walk to a few restaurants, 7-eleven, and a gas station

- 15 min drive to Kailua where you'll find alot more food options, grocery and department stores

- 30 min drive into Honolulu

- private and direct access to beach

- beautiful wrap-around deck facing the beach

- beach is very quiet - barely anyone around

- safe neighborhood

- large property

- plenty of space for parking

- stacked kitchen with everything you need to cook, eat, etc.

- a/c and ceiling fans works great

- cable TV worked great

- beach toys and chairs came in handy

- outdoor hose to wash off after the beach was handy

- sunrises were amazing

- white bath towels were fine

- graco pack-n-play was very convenient

- laundry machines were convenient - also included some detergent

Things we did not like:

- older, weathered cabin/cottage style home

- main washroom gets very stuffy and humid after a shower - no ventilation

- tight/small stand-up shower in main washroom

- shower door doesn't close properly which allows some water to splash out - the 2nd small washroom/shower that leads directly outside - shower was more spacious than the one in the main washroom but toilet area is cramped

- although it did not bother some of us, there's an issue with ants in the home, mainly concentrated in the washroom and the bedroom beside it. They were crawling on the dresser and into clothes and toiletries

- old bed linens and beach towels

- carpeted floor

Suggestions:

- next major reno: remove all carpet and install hardwood or laminate - it will feel and look much cleaner - it will also refresh the entire look of the house and could most likely rent out for more

- fix shower door

- remove carpets in washroom

- clean the windows and screen - dust and bugs are visible

- clean lamps and ceiling fans in bedrooms

- provide ant traps (I understand it's a beach house and insects are inevitable - however it would be nice to have a remedy to this minor issue - the two houses i rented in the past in O'ahu and The Big Island provided full disclosure to this issue and provided a solution)

Overall, I would stay again for the price and location. Just needs some tender loving care and a thorough clean after every visit.

Ocean front was spot on!

  • 4 of 5

We hit the jackpot with this property. It was exactly like the owner said it was. With for women sharing this small space we made it work and wouldn't have had it any other way. Spending our mornings and our evenings out on the deck and walking on the beach was just what we were looking for. We would recommend this to anyone and would stay at this property again. We never had to reach out to the owner for anything. If you're looking to fall asleep to waves crashing on the beach this place is it. Love to the location as we were able to stay away from the hustle and bustle but a quick 20 to 25 minute drive into Waikiki. We even spent a day driving to the North Shore and seeing the scenery. This was not only a girls trip but I celebrated my 49th birthday here. Best birthday ever!
