With a short ride (bike, bus or car), you have access to downtown Vancouver and University of British Columbia. Local ski lifts are 30 minutes by car. Public transportation is within 5 minutes.
Originally from Winnipeg, Manitoba, we came to Vancouver and a few years later made Kitsilano our home since 1976. We've raised 3 girls in this house, all who have graduated from UBC.

We bought this property because of its location. Kitsilano is the perfect area to have raised our children. Our girls attended the elementary school across the street and later went to the high school about 10 minutes walking distance. The beaches are about a 20 minute walk and UBC is a 20 minute bus ride - our family seldom needed a car to get around.
This neighbourhood is unique in Vancouver in that several of our neighbours are a major part of each other's families. We've been extremely fortunate to have developed such close ties over the years. It is the reason none of us have any desire to leave the area.
Your home is very comfortable, has beautiful gardens. Perfect location for shopping, dinning and biking. Thanks for the warm hospitality.
The lovely scones were very welcome after a long hard journey. It's so nice to sit down have a drink, scone and relax without having to shop first, especially after traveling. The property has ever convenience and is immaculate with a comfy bed. I could say more but this is my second visit and I hope to stay again next year. What better recommendation?
We had a very lovely stay with Elaine, Ted and their family. From the very beginning they made us feel welcome and were so helpful, kind and generous. The apartment was perfect for our needs, plenty of space for our one year old to crawl around and a well equipped kitchen. The location is absolutely beautiful, close to the beach and other lovely walks. Lots of delicious restaurants and coffee shops with an easy bus ride or walk into downtown. Would recommend wholeheartedly.
If I could give more than 5 stars I would. My wife and I were blown away by this garden suite...so quaint, well equipped and well situated. The owner greeted us and made sure we had everything we needed, and left a welcome package including wonderful tea bisquits and fruit, as well as basic condiments that you usually have to run out and buy. We could not have been more pleased and would recommend to anyone.
I spent 4 lovely days in this gorgeous suite and it was wonderful!
First, it was very homy. Elaine (the adorable owner) included tones of little attentions (flowers, bread and jam, movies, books, etc.) that instantly made me feel right at home. Second, it was super clean: from the bathroom to the kitchen to the bedroom, it was spotless! Third, the suite is extremely well located. It is just a short walk away from Broadway Street where you can find cute Fresh Produces Stores, a huge Safeway (grocery store), delicious restaurants, candy stores, clothing stores, and toy stores. Moreover, it is 10 minutes away from the Kitsilano beach and is also super close to bus lines (the 2, 22, 44) that take you directly downtown. Lastly, the neighboorhood is very calm and peaceful. I was staying alone and felt very safe in the suite.
If you are looking for a place to stay while in Vancouver, Elaine's suite is definitly a gem!
The listing was very accurate. The location just what we wanted .We did not want to be driving in our car all the time. this was ideal close to all connections
This was indeed a home from home. Very clean and well kept. Everything you wanted plus those little extras that make you want to come back again.ie Lovely scones on arrival a great wine.
You get the best customer service in my book -Owner very friendly and helpful as to information and places to visit.
My family are already asking when are we going back. Be sure of this we will return.
The main street is a few blocs away and you can spend your evenings dining out and so many restaurants and coffee shops they are just to many to mention.
Vancouver is a great place to have a holiday and this home away from home is well priced and truly worth it
