Romantic, luxury, well located Old Town apartments sleeping 3 and 6 - The Old Bakery

Bedrooms Studio
Space 430 sq. ft.
Property type apartment
Minimum Stay 4 nights

The Old Bakery

This apartment is directly across the landing from our other apartment, Cathedral View, and could be ideal for a larger group if rented together. Ask for preferential rates if this is the case.

The Old Bakery is lovely & light & a deceptively large studio apartment. A great use of space enables 3 people to sleep on mezzanine beds giving ample living and storage space on the ground floor. The high ceiling features exposed beams.

There are four windows with rare views of a garden & old Dubrovnik buildings to the rear & with glimpses of the fortified walls beyond, giving a tranquil hideaway but still in the thick of it all. The windows are all double glazed with working shutters to enhance your stay.

Recently renovated to a high standard and freshly decorated for the season the studio features wooden and tiled flooring throughout, a shower room with sink & a WC with window, a kitchen area with all one would expect, a dining area and a sitting area and ample storage. The perfect place.

About the property

Cathedral View & Old Bakery

The photos below are for both of our apartments so please be sure to read the photo title ensure the photo you view is for the apartment you are looking to enquire about.

Saraca Apartments are gorgeous holiday lets for self-catering in the centre of the walled Old Town of Dubrovnik in Southern Croatia. They have a superb location only a few steps from every amenity of the Old Town you could need - yet offer great tranquility when you want to get away from it all. There are no steep steps to climb to get to the building itself and once in the building the apartments are on the second floor.

Cathedral View is a two bedroom apartment (plus sofa bed) with superb views of the Cathedral (though you can rest well as the bells do not ring!), the Square and Srj mountain behind Dubrovnik. The Old Bakery, just across the hall from Cathedral View, is a well planned, light and airy studio apartment with views of an Old Town lane and buildings and garden vines below.

Both apartments are finished to a high standard and are a few minutes walk from the beaches, old town harbour, the Stradun, cafes & restaurants and the famous Jazz Square.

All queries are cheerfully answered!

Great time and lovely apartment

  • 5 of 5

I stayed here for a week and had a great time. The apartment is lovely and has a nice view. It is near to the restaurants, bars and shops of the old town. There are a lot of activities to do such as trips, kayaking etc. Although it is near to the centre it is quite at night to get to sleep.

Cosy apartment in the heart of Old Town.

  • 5 of 5

The location of the apartment was brilliant. All necessities including a small shop and fresh fruit and veg market just seconds walk from the front door. A larger supermarket a short walk away in Gruz along with a stunning harbour. Even though the apartment was in the middle of the busy centre, we were able to have the windows open without much noise. We shut both the windows and shutters at night and were able to get plenty of rest even though we are light sleepers.

Lots of people offering excursions in old town, which are well worth the time. We enjoyed a three island tour, kayaking and 2 trips to Lokrum island. The island was so beautiful we felt the need to go back a second day. Lots of wildlife such as peacocks, rabbits, lizards and even a tortoise. There are also lots of places to take a picnic, sunbathe and swim.

This apartment was a gem and we will definitely be interested in staying again soon. Thankyou for an unforgettable trip.

The apartment is in an amazing location right in Old Town, close to wonderful resturants and bars. Everything is very close. The apartment was perfect for two people, with everything you need.

Great location in the heart of Dubrovnik's Old Town

  • 5 of 5

My girlfriend and I lucked out and found the Old Bakery on VRBO after our previous reservations fell through.

In her words, the Old Bakery "is an extremely livable space." It is a studio apartment but with a lofted king and lofted single bed it ends up being surprisingly roomy. We spent a week there and never once felt cramped or crowded. The unit is quite charming with its exposed stone walls and wide plank floors. It is also a corner unit with big windows overlooking some leafy pathways through Dubrovnik's Old Town.

The owner Benedict and the manager Kate were in contact throughout, and went to great lengths to ensure that the arrangements were made smoothly. We met Kate as planned and she walked us to the apartment as planned. Kate also took the trouble to arrange for taxi service to the airport on our way out, despite it being a 3 a.m. departure time.

I should note that because of the very central location, there can be a bit of noise in the evenings. If this bothers you then it may be better not to stay in Old Town. Also, the apartment is a walk-up (and the lofted beds are accessed by ladders), so it may not be appropriate for mobility-compromised individuals.

Thanks Benedict and Kate for making it an easy stay for us.

A pretty, cleverly designed & well-equipped space!

  • 5 of 5

What a lovely experience - staying in The Old Bakery! A pretty, quirky apartment that feels spacious due it's clever layout. It is well-equipped with all modern requirements and in a tasteful, eclectic way. The apartment is in a fantastic location for exploring Dubrovnik Old Town on foot with other transport links nearby. The owner Benedict smoothly arranged transfers and meet-and-greet with Luka, Kate and Dinko who are a friendly introduction to Dubrovnik and it's people. They were kind and informative. A perfectly organised rental arrangement!!

Saraca, modern, airy but traditional

  • 5 of 5

We were really pleased because the pictures are completely true to the appts - airy, light, clean, kitchen well appointed, modern but with a traditional feel, good views, excellent central location. lovely views down onto the square, without too much of the noise (2nd floor).

In the summer, a cool and peaceful escape from the heat and bustle. Showers have good water pressure, and the bathroom in the 2 bed appt is gorgeous. Beds comfy. Everything seemed to function well.

Near to a fabulous deep rocky swimming point just off the city walls, and maybe 10 mins to city beach (the only sandy one for miles). Restaurants bars and harbour all within minutes.

We were met at the city gate from our taxi by one of the owners, and given as much info about what to do, where to go as we could possibly need - it was a really friendly welcome. We've been to this same place twice now - once for a week and again for a long weekend.

Our beautiful property is located in a stunning old stone building that has recently had a facelift on the outside too by UNESCO so it is now simple stunning both inside and out. Conveniently placed in the heart of the Old Town, just a small distance from everything you would need but also quiet too. The beaches are from a 3 minute walk away, the grocery store is 4 minutes away, bars and restaurants about 3 minutes away. The vibrant culture of the Old Town is at your doorstep, and the cathedral is right there beside you, but the apartments themselves are truly a calming place.

Other Activities: Day trips to Elephiti Islands, Mostar, Sarajevo and Montenegro, Konavle wine country
