Owned and renovated by us, and freshly decorated for this season, this apartment is truly beautiful and is one of the best in the Old Town. It has an enviable position overlooking the Square and Cathedral and certainly has the wow factor.
It comprises two bedrooms (a twin and a double), a stunning tumbled marble bathroom with Roman style deep bath with Power Shower over and also benefits from a second separate WC. There is a new sofa bed in the living area that can be used for an extra two people if required. Please enquire at the time of booking.
The main living area has wooden floors - there are exposed beams throughout, as well as double glazed windows and fully working shutters and air conditioning/heating - and features a wenge oak kitchen with all the usual items one would expect for self catering.
Exposed stone and tiling and frescoes finish the look.
For a truly memorable time in Dubrovnik, look no further.
This apartment is directly across the landing from our other apt.
The photos below are for both of our apartments so please be sure to read the photo title ensure the photo you view is for the apartment you are looking to enquire about.
Saraca Apartments are gorgeous holiday lets for self-catering in the centre of the walled Old Town of Dubrovnik in Southern Croatia. They have a superb location only a few steps from every amenity of the Old Town you could need - yet offer great tranquility when you want to get away from it all. There are no steep steps to climb to get to the building itself and once in the building the apartments are on the second floor.
Cathedral View is a two bedroom apartment (plus sofa bed) with superb views of the Cathedral (though you can rest well as the bells do not ring!), the Square and Srj mountain behind Dubrovnik. The Old Bakery, just across the hall from Cathedral View, is a well planned, light and airy studio apartment with views of an Old Town lane and buildings and garden vines below.
Both apartments are finished to a high standard and are a few minutes walk from the beaches, old town harbour, the Stradun, cafes & restaurants and the famous Jazz Square.
All queries are cheerfully answered!
The apartment was lovely, very well furnished and centrally located in the old city. We enjoyed going to the market every morning so we could make breakfast in the apartment. The kitchen is well stocked and had everything we needed. Dinko was very helpful and responded to our needs promptly. Having a driver at the airport was also nice and less expensive. We enjoyed the multiple channels on the TV especially watching the World Cup.
The apartment was stunning and exactly as described and has everything you need. It was in the centre of the old town and only a 5 minute walk to the main bus stop and 2 minutes to the old harbour for boats to the islands. There was a good selection of bakery's, shops etc. just round the corner. Benedict organised our transfer from the airport and we were met by Kate who showed us around the apartment, it couldn't have been easier. Thanks to both. I would highly recommend this apartment and will hopefully return.
I chose this apartment based on its location and was so, so pleased I did. My priorities were a central location so we didn't need a car, and 2 bedrooms.
The apartment was amazing, from the lovely windows opening out on the plaza below to the surprising artefacts (check out the painted block over the bath) to the gorgeous wide floor boards to the fabulous shower. It's been wonderfully restored and is immaculately presented.
The apartment has everything you need, but the name Cathedral View fails to do it justice: you are so close to the cathedral it seems like you should be able to reach out and touch it. Benedict made the whole experience extremely easy, organising our transfers and taking care of the meet and greet.
Dubrovnik is gorgeous and you get such a sense of luxury being in the apartment. We would throw open the windows in the evening, enjoy a glass of wine and listen to the guitarist: absolutely magic.
One proviso: Dubrovnik old town is amazingly clean and the city workers strive to present this image to the tourists. The only opportunity they get to clear away the rubbish is in the morning so it can be noisy at that time. You get used to it quickly, and then you get to walk out into the spotless, atmospheric streets and enjoy the fresh produce market, the glorious sunshine and feel extremely welcome in this wonderful place. Enjoy!
We stayed here recently. What a wonderful location opposite the cathedral, with a view of the square and over the town to Mnt Srd and the cable car. Very central, with lots of restaurants, cafes, bars and shops all around. 2 minutes from the old harbour for boats to Lokum and Cavtat, both of which are highly recommended, and also many boat trips. Only a short bus ride away from the main port Gruz for ferries to the other islands and also the main bus station.
The apartment is beautiful and well equipped with a fabulous bathroom (no bath, but a wonderful shower). The air conditioning was also a godsend and we found that leaving the unit in the living room/kitchen on overnight at 20 degrees with the bedroom doors slightly ajar maintained a comfortable temperature without the noise from the unit. There was some noise from the daily refuse collection and a youngster running around upstairs, however these were both minor and occurred around 8:00 am so no big deal. The double glazing and the shutters were excellent at reducing general street noise and also maintaining darkness in the bedrooms. The WiFi worked flawlessly and was also very handy.
The apartment is ideal for 4 people as it has 2 bedrooms, 1 double and 1 twin and 2 separate toilets (one within the bathroom). Sleeping 6 would be OK also because the bed settee is off to the side of the living room/kitchen so would not really be in the way.
The only negative point is the fact that there are several flights of steep stairs to climb to access the apartment. This did not really bother us because we went out in the morning and did not return until bed time. Nevertheless it could be a problem for someone disabled or elderly.
We had arranged airport transfer (recommended) through the owner prior to our arrival and, although the plane was late, we were met by the driver and passed on to our meet and greet member who took us to the apartment.
Dubrovnik is a very beautiful and busy town; there is plenty to do there and many places to visit. The apartment is in an ideal location and we could not recommend the property highly enough.
Benedict was great do communicate with throughout my planning process and also arranged for a transfer from the airport(Kate & Luksa were great to deal with as well). The apartment is as great as it appears in pictures. I travelled with three other people and it had plenty of room for us all. Location was fantastic within the walls and close to Ploce Gate. There is a grocery story, local market and lots of restaurants just steps away from the apartment. One thing to note it that it is on a high floor with a spiral staircase. It could be challenging if you have lots of heavy luggage or are not used to climbing that many flights of stairs. But then again all that is listed in the add so you know what you're getting yourself into. :) lol
Overall, it was a wonderful stay and we would go back there again!
We had a wonderful stay at this apartment during our stay in Dubrovnik. It is so well located, right next to the beautiful cathedral with beautiful views of the cathedral roof and the square below. The sea is only minutes away with swimming, water sports and boat rides and we were serenaded every evening by the guitarist downstairs who played for the local restaurant. The bedrooms are very comfortable and the whole apartment is tastefully furnished. The bathroom is wonderful; it has an enormous shower you could walk around in and everywhere is very clean. I would recommend the pick-up from the airport; it made the transfer to the apartment very straightforward and we were well looked after. I would thoroughly recommend this apartment and Dubrovnik itself is a stunning and amazing city.
A wonderful apartment in the heart of Dubrovnik! This place had fantastic character and we really enjoyed our stay here. Booking was VERY easy, as was check in and check out. If you are looking for an apartment that is in the ideal location, super clean, wonderfully decorated and has historical significance, this is the place for you:)
Our only complaint (and I mention this to set expectations, not to deter anyone from staying here) was the apartment is located just above what we came to think of as "garbage alley." This is where the local residents and businesses dump their trash/garbage overnight which creates two issues - smell and noise from the very early morning garbage truck. Just an FYI.
Our beautiful property is located in a stunning old stone building that has recently had a facelift on the outside too by UNESCO so it is now simple stunning both inside and out. Conveniently placed in the heart of the Old Town, just a small distance from everything you would need but also quiet too. The beaches are from a 3 minute walk away, the grocery store is 4 minutes away, bars and restaurants about 3 minutes away. The vibrant culture of the Old Town is at your doorstep, and the cathedral is right there beside you, but the apartments themselves are truly a calming place.
