Overview

About the property

2 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms, 4 Sleeps

Something is new at Bear Track Lake Adventures! We have chosen to name it "A Sneaky Bear's Hideaway" because it is located on the hill overlooking the lake, providing a more private getaway. It features a front deck that overlooks a stream that becomes a waterfall. It is a very calming experience to sit out and listen to the sound of the water. Inside can be found the signature lodge pole with a carved bear cub peeking out. A very expansive great room features an eighteen foot cathedral ceiling and a hearth with gas logs. The kitchen is designed to appear as an outdoor cooking area, with granite countertops and accent lighting. All appliances, including the washer and dryer, are top of the line. A dining area features a one-of-a-kind dining table made by craftsmen who bring out the beauty in the wood. The cabin is situated so that both the morning and afternoon sun bathes the interior. Two bedrooms, both with individual bathrooms, provide a retreat from the living area. Each features its own French Doors that allow you to watch the sunrise as you awaken to another wonderful day in this wonderful place. A boat for your use is provided with your rental. If you like nature, water, fresh air, and privacy, then A Sneaky Bear's Hideaway should be your destination. Hope to see you soon!

Ideal For Two Couples Looking For Quiet Luxury

  • 5 of 5

Sneaky Bear in Beattyville is a luxury accommodation in a private wooded setting overlooking a lake. The house is a new and is a log construction with nice planked floors. All the surfaces are wood including the high ceiling. The two mirror image guest suites each has a bath so it’s ideal for two couples. The finishes are stylish and the appliances are good quality, including dishwasher, washer dryer, three door fridge. The central space is large and is an open floor plan. There is a gas fireplace in the main space. The kitchen is set up for real cooking with plenty of granite counter top. Nice selection of spices and cookware. The gas grill is just outside the kitchen and a spare propane was nearby. Two double glass doors lead to the deck which overlooks the lake and had chairs, table and two chaise lounges. The entire house was spotless. Entry was easy as a key code lock box is at the front door. We brought a colander and wine glasses as that was noted as missing in a prior post. No need...Fred had added both. He lives nearby and made sure we were settled and had everything we needed. The Red River Gorge and Natural Bridge are about 15 minutes away. The two person electric boat makes for a peaceful outing on the lake. We would definitely come back to Sneaky Bear on our next visit to the Gorge. My bet is that Fred will build a few more cabins around his lake in the future.

Owner's Response: We appreciate the kind words. We have invested much time and effort towards creating a place that will not leave our visitors dissappointed. It seems to be working in that a growing percentage of our clients come back for a second or third time. We have one family return for the fourth time this year! Again, thanks for the encouragement.

Perfect Rustic Retreat!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the cabin for two nights and had a wonderful time! The craftsmanship of the cabin is beautiful, it is cozy with a lot of natural light and the sound of the waterfall at the base of the house makes for the perfect peaceful getaway! We were greeted by a sweet dog named Hank and we were happy to meet Fred, the owner, prior to heading home. He shared some neat history about the property...the caves and arches on the property are so unique...being able to go on a hike right outside our door was awesome! We can't say enough good things about this place. We will definitely be back!

Great Stay!

  • 5 of 5

Thanks so much Fred. We spent 3 nights at Sneaky Bear's Hideaway, and couldn't have enjoyed it more. The cabin had everything we needed, and the property was beautiful. We actually walked it several times. The caves were really neat. We also spent time hiking at Red River Gorge and Natural Bridge, which were both within a very reasonable drive. We're definitely shooting for a return trip sometime.

Peaceful setting!

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful and clean cabin! The lake was an added bonus with the boat to quietly cruise around in. A walk around property is a must with signs marking caves and other sights. Our host was very friendly and helpful with any of our needs! Beds were super comfy! I just wish they had wine glasses in the cabin. But that's very minor as they had everything else! Would love to come back.
