Description

Lexington Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Come Relax by the Fireplace

Great 1 bedroom, 1.5 bath cabin with relaxing screened in porch. Sit

and listen to the wonderful sounds of nature. Furnished with a fully

stocked kitchen ready to cook in, BBQ Grill, gas log fireplace

(seasonal), Cable TV, dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster, microwave,

hair dryer, iron and iron board and deck furniture. The bathroom

includes a shower with a separate tub for relaxation and a large

closet area. A washer and dryer are also provided for your

convenience.

Please Note: Our cabin is only for responsible adults and

families. There will be absolutely NO HOUSE PARTIES.

Due to unfortunate circumstances, we no longer allow pets.

Here is the breakdown of sleeping arrangements:

Living Room:

1 Futon -

1 Sleeper Sofa

Bedroom (on a second level)

1 Queen Bed - Sleeps 2 adults

The cabin is directly on High Rock Lake with a waterfront pier. There are stairs down to the water.

There is a half bath downstairs for your convenience.

Our cabin is a rustic lake cabin in the woods. It is a great cabin for grilling burgers, snuggling on the sofa, and watching a movie during a thunderstorm. However, it will not be fancy.

It will be cozy, and quaint, but it will not be fancy.

There will be crickets chirping, leaves crunching under your feet, and the glorious smell of the crisp fresh air, but it will not be fancy.

We provide complimentary sheets and towels for your use. They will be available in the upstairs closet. We do ask that you wash these prior to your departure, so if time is an issue on your last day, please plan to bring your own. If you prefer anything that “counts thread” you may want to think about bringing your own. (These are also not fancy)

We are always open to feedback on how to improve our rustic cabin in the woods, and are constantly making improvements to keep it comfy and cozy for your stay.

Why Cara Dowling chose North Carolina

This property stole our hearts the second we saw it. We just had to have it. We love coming here ourselves and feel instantly relaxed the second we pull in the driveway!

What makes this cabin unique

Private and tranquil with the comforts of home and the ability to stay connected if you choose!

Guestbook comments from the owner

We really enjoyed our stay there, and will definitely be in touch if we are ever in that area again! Loved the quiet location and the cabin was very comfortable!

We didn't want to ever leave!

  • 5 of 5

The listing description was accurate, the property was well maintained, Cara provided "top shelf" customer service and comfort from start to finish! I would recommend this property to anyone seeking 48 hours or more of solace! After 48 hours we just really began to relax and settle in! We loved the convenience of having the Food Lion only a few miles away so we could stock up once. We went to a great playground for my grandson to run and we enjoyed a BBQ lunch at a local place. We also had time for a stop at a flea market which was enjoyable. Most of all, we loved the quiet and the dock and the view! The only downside was the propane fireplace had not been used for months and it was unable to operate. I know Cara tried everything possible to walk us through but that's OK, next time we will have it! Great experience all around!

Great get away weekend!

Nice place to relax! Enjoyed fishing from the pier. House was very clean. Great having coffee on the screened in porch. Cara was very easy to reach from the time I inquired about the property until checking out.

Peaceful family getaway in a quaint cabin on a lake

  • 5 of 5

Fell in love with the cabin immediately. The kitchen is large enough to fit 4 - 5 people, living room has a futon, sofa couch which was very comfortable for my twin 14 year old boys and a comfy chair. It also has a half bath on first floor. Walk upstairs to a very large bedroom and full bathroom. The bed was so comfortable that we had no problem sleeping. You walk down about 25 - 30 steps to get to the dock on the lake. Some of the steps were very steep so if you have any kind of issues climbing up and down steps, this will be a problem for you. Was not for us. We did not catch any fish at this time but we expected that since the lake water was like bath water. We either swam or boated the entire time. You can rent a pontoon boat right at HIgh Rock Lake Marina and then dock it right there at the cabin pier. It will take you about 20 minutes from the marina to the cabin on water. There is also Tamarac Marina which will take you about 30 minutes to get to. We had one issue with the microwave that quit working but Cara immediately had a new one sent. Cara was always very fast in replying to any messages I sent her. There is a grocery store within 20 minutes of the cabin. If you go to church, no need to worry about a shortage. There is one about every mile. My family of 5 have left with some wonderful memories and we plan to make this our yearly vacation. You will love this tiny little town. Definately go to Lexington downtown and go to the Candy factory on Main Street. They have games and candies from the 1950, 60's and 70's. Such a fun place. Then make your way down to the Barbeque restaurant and get the banana split that will feed 7 people for only $7.00. Thank you Cara again for opening your beautiful and peaceful retreat to my family. We'll definately return next summer.

Less than exceptional

  • 2 of 5

We are perfectly OK with rustic, but this cabin was not really clean, had some bad defects such as the buckling laminate flooring, and there was no heating and cooling system for the upper level, which means it was very hot upstairs. There was no way for cool air to rise up to the upper level. The area around the cabin was very rough. The walkway to the cabin from the parking area, and the walkway to the dock, were covered with sticks, leaves and debris. It appeared both walkways had not been cleaned off for a very long time. The screened in porch was nice, but the floor had not been swept. We would not stay there again.

Great Fishing

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It was very private. We went to catch crappie and the fishing was great. The cabin was very clean and comfortable. We hope to rent again next year maybe just a little earlier in the fishing season.
