Just twenty minutes away is Hunting Island State Park with three miles of wide pristine beaches - voted 7th of the top 25 beaches in the US by Travelers Choice. There are also walking and bike trails through the forest near the lagoon. Climb the lighthouse and look for dolphins, pelicans and bald eagles- they are there! You might also want to stop on the way home from the beach and buy some freshly caught fish or shrimp right where the shrimp boats come in!
There are three fine public golf courses and several tennis courts within 15 minutes of the house.

We owners, weary of grey Pennsylvania winters, were looking for a southern location near beaches, nature, golf, tennis, and sun. To our delight, we found beautiful Beaufort – a diverse community, steeped in history, architecture, nature and more. Beaufort more that fit our requirements.
We have spectacular views of creeks and miles of marsh- which changes by the hour and colors change by the season, gorgeous sunrises and soft shadows at sunset. We watch a pair of osprey rearing their family just near our dock and wait for the slight “whoosh” that signals dolphins swimming in creek.
Gorgeous views.. amazing dock.. fishing, crabbing, shrimping, etc. right from dock.. wonderful wildlife.. close to beaches, shopping, sightseeing, golfing, tennis, farmers markets, and many other fabulous things... Bring your boat, dock on our private dock & explore beautiful Beaufort in your boat. No landing traffic!!
This house is perfect....location, comfortableness and the view!!Spectactular!!
Loved the oysters rockerfeller at Dockside, Crab sandwiches at the Shrimp Shack, and cocktails on the deck of the FILLIN STATION.Can't forget Alvin Ords. Hunting Island is indescribable - perfect beaches, warm water and GREAT WEATHER! The ospreys have at least two babies. Cabin 25 is paradise!
We rented the house for a week with my European relatives. Enjoyed being together in this cozy house with all amenities. Great views, morning coffee on the dock will be missed. Thanks to wonderful owners.
We had a lovely week on Lady's Island in this VRBO rental. The home was clean and nicely furnished. The wide open and nicely stocked kitchen had everything you could ask for in a rental home. The views from the house were fantastic. Fishing from the dock or kayaking on the creek were both great. We had a couple visits by dolphins who swam by us on the dock. Evening cocktails on the covered part of the dock was a nightly ritual and with the breeze off the water, it was not too hot even with the heatwave we had when we were in S.Carolina. Lastly, we appreciated the owner's efforts at keeping our planet green with recycling and composting available at the home.
For the second year in a row we had a wonderful visit in a charming environment. Early mornings drinking coffee on the dock watching nature, the ospreys feeding their young, dolphins swimming, and squirrels chasing each other in the yard. You have everything that you need in the house, it is spacious! There is so much to do in Beaufort. Planning on our next visit next summer.
My husband and I loved spending our anniversary weekend here! The dock was one of the best features of this home. We caught several blue crabs, stingray, and spotted trout. We got quite the workout while kayaking along the docks. The kitchen was FULLY stocked. The bed was comfy. In my opinion, the perfect vacation home! If only time could stand still....
We lived in Beaufort for several years before moving back to Indiana to be closer to family. We still visit every summer and this is the 3rd home we have stayed in. This home was the most accommodating home of the 3 homes we have stayed in. The owners thought of everything any guest could want or need. The home was spacious and comfortable. The kitchen was wonderful to cook in. A few of us could all be in there working together, plus it was all open so we could visit with everyone else in the living room as we prepared meals. The dock was our favorite part of the whole place. We started the day down there with a cup of coffee and ended the day down there with a glass of wine. It was very peaceful and we loved watching the Osprey's nest. We saw a few dolphins. The kids loved crabbing and fishing. We cooked up a mess of crabs and grilled a shark and fish that they caught. They also took a few dips in the creek. The outdoor shower was a huge hit with the kids. We visited the shrimp guy in Port Royal several times to get our shrimp fix. We don't get fresh shrimp in Indiana, so we had grilled shrimp, lemon butter shrimp and some good 'ol Frogmore Stew! We took full advantage of the Hunting Island pass. We went out there one morning to watch the sun come up. If you think Hunting Island is beautiful in the middle of the day, you have to see it at sunrise! Gorgeous! We also went to the Sands to do some shark tooth hunting, the Cypress Wetlands, downtown to the Waterfront Park and the historic district, Fort Fremont & the beach, The Chapel of Ease and of course no visit to Beaufort is complete without a Shrimp Burger from the Shrimp Shack! We did all of our running around in the mornings to beat the heat and spent our afternoons on the dock enjoying the breeze coming off of the water. It was my 11 year old grandson's first visit to Beaufort and he can't quit talking about it! It was a wonderful, memorable stay. Hopefully we can get this home for our next visit!
We had a wonderful time and the house was perfect in a quiet neighborhood. Love sitting on the dock drinking my coffee in the morning and the guys love crabbing and fishing off of it. House was beautifully decorated with everything we needed for our stay and the location was close to all the things we enjoy doing in Beaufort. Would love to rent it again next year for our yearly visit and would recommend it to others.
