Visiting Cedar Creek Cabin makes you feel a world away from the bustle of the city, despite being only 2 hours from San Francisco. Situated on Cobb Mountain – the tallest of the Mayacamas range above Calistoga - you will be treated to the scent of a dense forest and the babble of a year-round creek.
The cabin has two well-appointed bedrooms and a bathroom with a shower and full-size tub. The master bedroom has a queen bed, while the second bedroom has a twin over full bunk bed; both bedrooms are outfitted with premium linens and down comforters.
Though the cabin has cozy proportions, it has an enormous kitchen for you to enjoy cooking and entertaining.
In the winter months, curl up by the warm wood stove or sprawl on the window bench seat to read a great book. You might also consider watching your favorite Blu-Ray or Netflix movie on the 40” HDTV.
In the summer, take advantage of the expansive deck with a hammock, rocking chairs, kettle BBQ and outdoor dining table. Read a book while listening to the water trickling down Jones Creek, or invite some friends and have an outdoor feast.
Once you have settled into the relaxed mountain atmosphere, you can leave the car behind and walk to many of the great things Cobb has to offer, including:
• Boggs State Forest – hiking, mountain biking (1/2 mile, 10 minutes)
• Cobb Mountain Golf Course, Restaurant and Bar (2 minutes)
• Hardester’s Grocery (10 minutes)
• Mountain High Coffee (10 minutes)
• Brick Oven Pizza (10 Minutes)
You can also take a scenic drive through the mountains and discover other great nearby destinations, including:
• Pine Grove Family Resort – 2 swimming pools and a café (3 minutes)
• Moore Family Winery – Estate-made white and red varietals in the Red Hills appellation (10 Minutes)
• Loch Lomond Roadhouse – Food, drinks and live music (10 minutes)
• Harbin Hot Springs (10 minutes)
Your pet(s) are always welcome at Cedar Creek Cabin. There is a fully fenced deck and yard for your best friends to enjoy, and a state forest with thousands of acres to play is only a block away.
The cabin is equipped with cable TV, high-speed Internet with WiFi, Verizon network extender (full voice, text and 3G data), HDTV, heater, air conditioning, instant (endless) hot water and a wood stove.
Where is Cobb Mountain? It is less than an hour from Sonoma, Mendocino and Napa counties. It is two hours from Sacramento / central valley, and two hours from the San Francisco Bay Area. The town of Cobb is above 2600’ and receives several periods of light snow during the winter! And because it is inland and sheltered from the coastal fog, it reaches wonderful but comfortable 80s/90s temperatures in the summer. It’s a perfect escape any time of the year.
It was tough watching the news last month knowing that the cabin where we made so many great memories might be gone. You're in our thoughts!
Wonderful, homey place with everything one would need. Love the deck with the string lights!!
Five of us had a relaxing weekend at Cedar Creek Cabin at the end of July. We explored some of the local towns and attractions, but mostly, we stayed near the cabin and relaxed. Having a local grocery store a mere three-minute drive away was very convenient. The number one feature of this rental is the amazing, elevated, wrap-around deck that covers much of the front and side of the house. We spent most of our time on the deck and would encourage any visitor to do the same. As a side note, this rental is full of books and movies on all types of topics. For anyone who likes to read, it would be hard to be bored at this cabin. Additionally, the fact that the rental is pet-friendly was a big turn-on for our group!
I love the quiet and serene setting of the cabin. It is close to a store, pub, golf course, and a couple of cafes. There is also a pizza place nearby. Close to Pine Grove Resort which has a pool and snack shack. Weather is the perfect cross of warm days and cool nights. Tons of trees and a creek not far off.
The kitchen is a good size with all the standard amenities. The cooking implements are basic, but very serviceable. Bring your own specialty stuff if you are a chef or big on cooking tools. Bathroom is nice, tub over shower. Bathroom could use a fan since it gets pretty steamy. Don't forget to open the skylight to vent the shower, it really helps. Bedrooms are small, but they have closets and both have windows. Mattresses are pretty firm, I would almost say too firm. They are not slouchy though so that is good.
My favorite feature is the front patio and hammock. So relaxing and never gets overly sunny or hot. Patio table as well and a BBQ for cooking outside.
Cobb is a great town and this cabin is modest yet comfortable with cute features. Feels safe and you can really relax. Tons of wineries around Clear Lake and the surrounding cities so if you want to do tastings you can def do that. Our third year and I will go back. The price is very budget friendly for those of us who can't afford a pricey vacation, but want to stay somewhere safe and pet friendly. My dogs love it!
We had a great stay! We found the cabin very user friendly with many items there for use such as kids' toys, cooking utensils, and BBQ. We used the Jelly Stone Campground for swimming rather than the Pinegrove.
We enjoyed our stay here. It was comfortable, clean and had all the facilities we needed and more and plenty space to relax inside and outside. We were visited by a deer and two fawns every afternoon/evening showing no signs of fear.
We would have preferred a location nearer to the wineries but it was a close enough drive. We had hoped for mountain bike rental facilities nearby but didn't find any and so could not fulfill out intention to ride some of the forest trails. We went for a hike instead which was pleasant.
We experienced the thrill of an earth quake at 3.8 on richter scale and biggest for the month according to local websites. Coming from the UK we are not used to seismic activity on that scale.
