Or lounge in the Chalet's luxurious and peaceful spaces, like the master suite's jacuzzi tub with river-rock gas fireplace and glass shower...
Skislope Chalet features a huge Great Room upon entry, encompassing living, dining, kitchen, and deck areas, as well as a wine bar! Gather around the kitchen bar for a refreshing drink, sink into the plush couches for some entertainment, or revel in the mountain and valley views out the two-story windows. The custom kitchen faces out toward the whole room, so the cooks will always be part of the action. Enjoy the dining table seating 6 , walk-in pantry, DirecTv, DVD/BluRay, wifi, gas grill, XBox, PS3, stereo, and patio seating.
Also on the main floor are a king bedroom with down comforter and porch, a full bath and the junior master suite. The suite has two full beds and an en-suite full bath with custom rock work. You will be awed by the artisanal details in every room.
Upstairs, in addition to a loft office area, is the huge master suite, with king bed and down comforter, gas fireplace, balcony deck, Jacuzzi tub, glass shower, dual sinks, water closet, and walk-in closet. It's a dream come true.
The property also features a 2-car garage and level driveway parking for additional cars, as well as a washer and dryer.
Take advantage of all the exclusive activities the Tahoe Donner community offers its guests: skiing and snowboarding, cross-country skiing, equestrian center, tennis, boat launch and beach at Donner Lake, pool and recreation complexes, hot tub and sauna, gym, golf, and the clubhouse. All of these are available for discounted fees for guests. Plus the area is crisscrossed with hiking and biking trails, and offers special events all year long. The Lodge at Tahoe Donner is one of the best restaurants in Truckee!
You are centrally located to everything Truckee has to offer: world-class dining, several gorgeous golf courses, shopping, and special events. Donner Lake is just four miles, all major ski areas are just 15 miles (Squaw, Alpine, Northstar, Boreal, Sugarbowl), and Lake Tahoe is just 20 miles away.
Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.
Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wifes family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.
Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!
The house is pretty and nice on the surface!
As we were enjoying the patio on the second story, the wooden rail of the deck gave out on my boyfriend. He leaned an arm on it and in seconds was catching himself from falling 20 feet onto rocks. We couldn't let kids on the either patio after that.
SPIDERWEBS are a huge issue, everywhere! for the pricey cleaning fee, I would gladly clean them!
The house itself would have been fine if (1) it had been cleaned before we arrived... (used toothbpicks floss sticks, hair shavings, and crumbs on plates!) and (2) there was a key to be able to access it (we waited over an hour in the cold snowy night with 3 kids in the car for someone to get a key to us). Definitely not the way to start a vacation, and definitely not worth the money we paid.
Everything was wonderful. If your staying in the winter be careful of the first 3 steps they could have ice on them and be very slippery. Personally after I checked in I used the garage to enter and exit. That was super convenient and didn't have to worry about snow on my vehicle. Great place would recommend it to anyone
Winter and summer family friendly getaway
There were soooo many things wrong with our stay where do I begin?
ROOMS: The pictures shown are deceiving. The use of the word "huge" to describe the "great room" and master is incorrect. The living room is actually rather small and the couches have to be angled in order to even fit. The description as well as the follow-up emails you receive from Vacasa lead you to believe that the kitchen is well equipped-again this is not correct and if there are actually 8 adults- (the max #) some of you will be without plates, knives and forks, and "gathering around for a refreshing drink" will not include drinking out of a wine or champagne glass.
CLEANLINESS: This was the biggest complaint that I have with our stay! From the moment you step on the property it is apparent that it has not been well maintained. I have stayed in many homes throughout the Tahoe area and none of which were presented so poorly. Spider webs are covering the property with tons of spiders inside the home everywhere you look. The house has no fans, but opening the window shows large webs as well as insects both dead and alive. There are also visible termites (don't lean on any of the railings---- seriously!) on the stairs and large ants all over the driveway which is perfect for little kids running around, right?
The company even admitted that they did not have time to fully clean- leaving us with a VERY DIRTY oven and bbq- which we were unfortunately unable to enjoy during our stay. There was even leftover food on the walls from a previous guest. This made me wonder what if anything was actually cleaned?!?
- bring your own linens- they do not provide what is described and there were no towels in the master or kitchen towels
- no drawers in the double bed room- so you can keep your clothes in your dark suitcase for the spiders to crawl into.
- railings are not durable AT ALL
- couldn't even enjoy the deck area since the table was not usable and didn't have all the pieces to set-it up even if you felt like carrying the iron chairs up a flight of stairs from the garage
The bones of the house are nice, but overall this was the worst rental experience I have ever had and I am especially disappointed that we had to pay holiday rates when we didn't receive what was described upon booking.
