This spacious holiday home has a contemporary open plan interior with luxury fixture and fittings. It is located at Newby Bridge, only a 15 min drive to Bowness and 5 mins to lake Windermere. There is ample parking for up to 5 cars, a landscape garden with hot tub. its set amongst open fields with the hills as the perfect backdrop. It has 5 bedrooms, 3 en suite, and 1 bathroom downstairs, also, open plan living area, added to which is a spacious conservatory with a second wall mounted plasma TV which overlooks the spacious garden with fire pit. The open plan lounge and dining area has bi-fold doors which when folded back, open out to a sunny patio, with its feature stone walls and lush planting. It is a perfect retreat for families, or couples, who wish to have that added luxury whilst staying in such a beautiful location. The property has full Sky HD, Toys and games, unlimited internet access. Dogs welcome if supervised, with separate, enclosed dog run. Guests also have free entrance to the White water Hotel leisure facilities, located at Back barrow.. Fell foot park is next door and can be accessed directly from the property, via a gate at the bottom of the garden.

I also offer in house spa treatments, including massage, which previous guests have found to be of value after walking the fells, this requires to be pre booked. If its a birthday, or family celebration we will decorate the living area for a small fee, please enquire. If you really want to make your holiday special, we can also organise in house dining, which will give you your own chef and serving staff, please ask for menu selection and prices.

Newby bridge is an outstandingly beautiful part of the lakes, and the property is located right at the heart of this location, yet only a short stroll away from the Swan and the Newby Bridge hotels, which both have good restaurants. The quaint village of Cartmel is only a 15 min drive away, which is where you can find the famous Michelin star, l'enclume restaurant.

About Lynn Rawcliffe

I have been letting holiday cottages in the lakes since 2004 and offer luxury holiday accommodation. I am very keen to ensure that all my guests in all my cottages are always very well satisfied and depart the cottages having had a marvelous holiday. I decided quite early on to offer accommodation which allows guests to bring their dogs whilst still enjoying luxurious surrounding, I am a dog owner myself and always found it difficult to find good quality holiday lets that also allow dogs. I am very proud of the fact that I have managed to combine both.

The Haven is a very special property, it took me a full year to renovate and enlarge to add on a spacious extension and conservatory which now capture the magnificent views, which no matter what time of year it is, always remain spectacular. The house is modern with open plan living, which has proven to be successful when occupied by large groups or families. I always prefer to meet and greet guests to offer that personal touch and to offer ideas of where to go in the surrounding area, as Newby bridge has a lot to offer.

What makes this house unique

As previously mentioned, the views from every window are very special, the walks and the fact that fell foot park is right next door and can be accessed via the field and which runs by the river. the garden is great for entertaining and the fire pit at the bottom of the garden is always a hit with guests. there is also a spacious hot tub which is available to guests all year round..

  • The master bedroom is located upstairs and has a 6ft bed and french doors with balcony and stunning views, it also has a raised bath which is placed next to a large picture window, which allows for a very pleasant bathing experience, this room also has a large en suite wet room, with spacious closet space, underfloor heating, large wash hand basin and WC. Next door to the master is a lovely twin-bedded room with an en suite bathroom with bath, WC and basin. Across the landing is the guest room with a double bed and en suite shower room, it has two large windows allowing light to flood in, making this room a very pleasant room to stay in. Downstairs are 2 extra bedrooms, which include one double and a bunk bed room next door. Three of the bedrooms have TVs The bunk beds are suitable for adults.

Notes:
We do have a no smoking policy, and request guests who smoke to do so outside in respect for future guests who may stay at the property who do not smoke. in the garden is a firepit with 10 log stools to sit around whilst having a glass of vino infront of a fire!!!

Best place that I’ve stayed in!

Fantastic house, really nice decoration, every room was excellent, all had en suites, one larger front room and kitchen perfect for larger groups of people another large conservatory area both with large tvs and sky. Really nice outside garden area with large hot tub. Scenic views out the windows of the room. Went up for my 22nd birthday with 9 friends and thouroughly enjoyed the weekend and staying there, would recommend to anyone. I initially thought it would be out in the sticks with no shops near but there was a petrol station and cafe a minutes drive away. Lynn was also a really nice host, very accommodating as I forgot my watch in the house at the weekend but she has found it and offered to send it back for me. The price was also excellent for the house and services that you get, I would 100% return here.

Sheer luxury

Celebrated my 70th birthday with my children and grandchildren and had the best time ever.

We were greeted on arrival by Lynn who showed us around this beautiful property.

It was decorated for Christmas with two Christmas trees which was lovely.

The property itself is furnished to the highest level making it a very comfortable stay.

Having rented properties over the years this is the first time we have found it so well equiped for all of our needs.

I highly recommend this property and thank you Lynn.

Spacious, fantastic for a family get together

We went to The Haven to celebrate my 70th birthday. It's a lovely property in a beautiful setting close to Lake Windermere. Very well equipped and comfortable with lots of room for us all to spread out. The hot tub is an added bonus. We had brilliant few days there & would love to go again.

We went for my parents anniversary. There was 8 of us. This cottage delivered everything to us that we love about the Lake District. Lake Windermere at the bottom of the garden. Steam train passing every 20 mins opposite side of the lake. Two great standard hotel restaurants and Rural coffee shop all within walking distance. Even the wet weather didn't dampen our stay. 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Ok - could be better

Our 2nd visit to the haven and a little disappointed this year as had a few maintenance issues, internet, leaking radiators, hot tub breakdown, frequent foul smelling drains and front gate issues. Lynn ( the owner), was only a phone call away and did come to the house almost immediately, however despite best efforts and a small amount of compensation for the inconvenience, not all could be resolved which resulted in no hot tub for majority of our holiday and drain doctor came on the day we left. House showing some signs of wear & tear, and for a luxury rental will need to be better maintained to retain repeat business, all of us noticed a marked difference since August 16. Still had a great time though and I hope we return to the haven again.

Owner's Response: Unfortunately as well all properties there are sometimes maintenance issues, the heater for the hot tub unfortunately did stop working and had to be ordered from abroad so has been out for 2 weeks and guests have been disappointed, however I have refunded money for the inconvenience and guests have still had unlimited access to the whitewater hotel with its pool and jacuzzi. Issues such as these can arise and are beyond anybody's control. There was a blockage in the drains but I did get that sorted very quickly. The wifi is a new supplier and I've had problems with the router which has now been resolved. The haven is an extremely busy holiday let due to location and open plan living it offers therefore it does mean the house suffers from wear and tear especially coming towards the end of the season however every winter in the low season I do have it painted and refreshed for the following year

Gorgeous

Had a lovely long weekend away in this home! 10 of us stayed here very comfortably. Spacious, relaxing, very well equipped house. Great base for walks and venturing out, not that we did that. Lovely time spent relaxing. We will return!! ❤️
