This fun and homey apartment is just one block from Metro St Michel, the geographic and historic center of Paris. Here you are in walking proximity or very short metro rides to the best of Paris. Notre Dame Cathedral, St Germain de Pres Cafés and Boutiques, Les Jardins du Luxembourg, the Ile Saint Louis, the River Seine, the green bookstalls, a miriad of shops, 6 cinemas very close by. The metro 4 , RER B and C and a taxi stand are all at Place Michel. EASY access to airport.
This spacious (59 square meter/635 square foot) duplex is a serene place to relax after enjoying and exciting day in Paris! Situated the lively neighborhood of the Latin Quarter you have easy access to all of the "must-see" places in Paris.
The apartment itself will be repainted in Early April 2016. Portuguese kitchen tile and seventeenth century doors, wooden beams and 19th century ironwork blend to create a unique and memorable place for your stay. Four of the apartment's windows overlook a quaint and typical Parisian courtyard. There are 3 other windows: one off the back, one in the bathroom and one in the kitchen which open to small covered courtyards so there is quite a bit of natural light. The back courtyard facades have also been recently refurbished. All of the windows are on courtyards so the flat is quiet.
The apartment has an open space living arrangement: You enter the apartment into the main bedroom, on the second floor of the building. The bathroom and shower are on this floor as well. The apartment is a duplex so you go up a small flight of stairs to reach the 2nd bedroom, dining and living room areas and kitchen. The second bedroom serves as the living room during the day. Baby furniture and equipment can be provided upon request.
The kitchen has all you need if you want to cook.
I am an American artist who has been living in France for 14 years. My apartment is decorated with my work and other artist's works too.
My goal is too make you feel at home while you are away. Several people have found my place so suitable that they have returned to stay.
I stay in vacation homes too so I pride myself on keeping my place clean and equipped the way I like our rentals to be. I offer a comfortable place at a reasonable price because that's what I look for when I'm traveling. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about my. I'm happy to help you find the right place for your stay.
Lynn purchased this apartment in 2004
I bought my flat because I fell in love with all of the wooden beams at first sight!
14 Rue Xavier Privas is truly the center of historic Paris. It's also relatively quiet so you get the fun of Paris but still can sleep at night. You turn into our courtyard and you can really have a place to rest between busy visits to all of the nearby museums and cafés. Another highlight of 14 rue Xavier Privas is the old time feel. Once inside the apartment, surrounded by all those beautiful beams you really feel like you are stepping back in time.
thanks for the enquiry. Found the flat without any trouble.
I am very impressed with its appearance. You have done an amazing job. Very creative.
I'm trying not to dong my head too often on the beams!!
The central location of the apartment makes it a great spot to stay in Paris. It is clean, and has comfortable beds and has most everything needed for a stay in the city.
Lynn was very easy to work with and helpful. She left directions to the apartment & surrounding neighborhood.
The apartment has "old charm" with beamed ceilings and wrought iron. The ceilings are a bit low if you are over 6'.
It was a great spot for us and two teen daughters.
Our family of 6 ( 2 adults and 4 children ages 10-17) stayed for a week and loved every minute. The property was clean and well maintained and the photos on VRBO were accurate. Lynn was easy to work with and had the property ready for us when we arrived.
My wife and I stayed upstairs on the sofa bed which was very comfortable. The lower level was perfect for the kids, although it would have worked well for adults too. The location was great, 30 second walk to a metro stop and under a minute walk to the Senne. Notre Dame is only a short walk further. There were several grocery stores very close and many restaurants. As a bigger family we tend to not eat out much, but found many small bakeries and places that did take out. The kitchen worked great. Our favorite was to get a salad and a slice of quiche and bring it back. We also did a lot of picnics. Would definitely rent this flat from Lynn again.
Having just returned a few days ago, we already miss not only Paris itself but the little flat on Rue Xavier Privas.
My family, consisting of myself my husband and our three children aged 18,13 and 11 yrs old, were in Paris to celebrate my 50th birthday.
The flat is in the most perfect location for everything. The Metro is so easy to navigate .
Lynn kindly sent via email a list of food, cheese, wine, pharmacy stores in the area.
Inside the flat you have all the conveniences required for regular day to day living.
You are provided with a huge amount of bed linens and towels. There is internet ...my children were happy !
All in all Lynn's flat made returning back after a very busy day sightseeing, most enjoyable.
I have spent a month last may with a friend at Lynn's apartment and we have loved it! It's big for a Paris apartment and very well located, near to Notre Dame and to very good restaurants, markets and stores! It has four beds which is good for families or friends travelling together! Lynn was very kind with us all time! I would suggest only more lamps in the bedroom and also a bigger TV. The buildind don't have elevator, so be prepared to face some steps, but this is common in Paris! I really recommend it!
Let me start by saying that Lynn is a very gracious hostess and provides lots of helpful information. As others have said, the location couldn't be better. The ease of getting from the airport to the flat made our arrival stress-free. We loved the fact that the neighborhood was vibrant and felt very safe. The apartment easily held our family of 4, and could have accommodated 6 without a problem. The beams are a bit low and took some getting used to, but we loved the artsy feel of the flat. It was very easy to walk to many of the museums from the flat. Lynn provides everything you need...lots of towels, a washer and dryer (with instructions), and even a couple of bathrobes. When I came down with a bad cold on Christmas morning, she responded quickly to my email with a link to several pharmacies that were open 24/7. I definitely recommend this rental and would stay here again. Thanks, Lynn, for sharing your lovely apartment!
This flat was fantastic!!! It was just off one of the most fantastic streets filled with lots of restaurants. There were 4 of us and there was a lot of room for us to spread out. Lynn was a great host and answered all of my questions. She even left a very detailed outline to where to go for groceries etc. I would stay here again!!! Thanks lynn
