A comfortable riverfront condo in Tall Timber at the Homestead with 1 bedroom plus loft and 2 bathrooms – sleeps 6. This is a perfect spot from which to enjoy a vacation. Quiet mornings playing in the river, lazy afternoons on the beach at Sleeping Bear Bay and memorable evenings watching the sun set over Lake Michigan. Great for a family with young kids or some relaxing time away without them.
From the living room you have an unobstructed view of the point at Sleeping Bear Dunes and South Manitou Island. Through sliding glass doors is a balcony that looks out over the Crystal River and dune at the shore of the bay.
The master bedroom has a queen bed and built dresser and closet space. Just outside the bedroom is a full bath with shower over tub.
The efficiently designed kitchen was remodeled within the last few years and has custom hardwood cabinets, Corrian counter tops, refrigerator, oven/range and dishwasher. It’s fully outfitted with all the dishes, flatware and utensils you’ll need.
Up the spiral staircase in the loft there are two sets of bunk beds (extra long mattresses), a small sitting area and the second bathroom.
The condo is equipped with air conditioning. There is also access to a washer and dryer in the lower level of the building. The unit does not have privileges at the beach club.

Loved the location right on the Crystal River and so close to Lake Michigan, with terrific views and memorable sunsets. The condo itself is exceptionally well built and has a very cozy feel.
Don't let the rustic decor put you off with this property. We booked this unit last minute because there were no other condos that fit our needs. We were hesitant because it was a bit dated. Our mind set was immediately changed upon arrival. The view is incredible and it had extremely convenient access to the beach. It was very clean and had everything you could possibly need. There is a little village within walking distance within the Homestead. A small convenience store with a coffee shop, small speciality stores, a casual dining pizza shop, and a more upscale dining spot as well. Downtown Glen Arbor is a short 1 1/2 miles. There is a bike trail just across the street from the entrance of the Homestead. I believe it will take you into town but not totally sure. We were there during the famous storm of August 2015. There were a lot of downed trees blocking the path. I highly recommend this property. You will not be disappointed with its cleanliness, location, and reasonable rates.
I have stayed here all four seasons. Tall Timbers A-5 offers quite simply the best view on the peninsula (second place: Ciccone Vinyards). The interior is definitely "Up North" and may not be my taste, but it works for the location. You have for all intents and purposes your own private beach which, even during the busy summer season, never feels crowded. TC takes about a half hour, and all routes are scenic. Frankly, I go into "the city" only about once every two weeks as I don't see a need to leave. The owner of this getaway even has a library stacked smartly away in a bedroom closet, where new books (and old ones) featuring many local authors appear and disappear regularly. Bring a bike to pedal to your morning espresso less than 2 miles away at Leelanau Coffee Co. Sit out back, but don't take my favorite Adirondack chair, please and thanks.
