About Locke Jaeger

For 40 years our family has spent New Year's Eve on North Beach. When we got the opportunity to buy a vacation home in Inverness we knew it was perfect! We love how close this is to the East Bay and to San Francisco. A complete retreat away from the hustle and bustle, but we can still get back to it if we need to. This house has been a great family retreat, for hiking, going to the beach or just being together for meals, reading books, watching movies and playing games. We're happy to share it with you.

Locke Jaeger purchased this house in 2005

Why Locke Jaeger chose The Bay Area

Whether it's raining out or sunny, or cold and foggy, waking up in Inverness you feel relaxed after a quiet night's sleep.

What makes this house unique

We love walking up to the house, opening the front door and.....walking onto the deck! It always surprises people to open the front door and to be on the deck and seeing the view of beautiful Tomales Bay. We can walk to Chicken Ranch beach in 2 minutes, 10 mins drive to Shell Beach and it's a short drive to any number of ocean beaches or hiking trails. A 10 minute drive to Pt. Reyes station.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Locke was great to work with! Very responsive and offered great tips for things to do in the area. The house was lovely and the kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, blender, coffee maker, and even an espresso machine! The deck is amazingly huge, and there was plenty of room for everyone with a living room, dining room, 2 bedrooms and a whole extra cottage. I definitely recommend Locke and her home!

Great location in Inverness

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely time once again at Locke's Inverness house. It's ideal for our family, as the children enjoy separate quarters off the deck. Just a short walk downhill to Chicken Ranch beach, and lots of beach items on hand to take there. The house is spacious and generously equipped. Lots of help from the owners. Highly recommended for families.

A lovely retreat!

We loved our time there -- such a fabulous deck, a well stocked house with a great layout for a group of friends and family. It's also incredibly quiet and peaceful, with a sweet bay beach down the hill. We look forward to coming back!

This is our second time there so you know we really enjoy it.

Locke is a very organized home owner. I like her kitchen and the garage with ping pong and foosball! To sit on the deck and have your appetizers and wine is a must. The short walk to Chicken Ranch Beach is so convenient. I have a special place in my heart for Inverness and being able to rent Locke's house is just what we need once a year. Thank you.

A Sunny Spring Stay

  • 5 of 5

Our family really enjoyed staying in this large and welcoming home. We were there for an early Mother's Day gathering, and found that the space was so comfortable for the occasion. The kitchen is extremely well equipped, and the dining room and living room are perfect for whole families. There were 5 adults and a small dog in our group, but we never felt crowded or lacking for privacy. What a boon the cottage quarters are: plentiful beds and seating, its own bathroom, a fireplace, and a lovely view. Best of all was the huge open deck that is the central focus of the house. We spent much of our time there: sunning, doing yoga, chatting, eating breakfast, bird-watching, and thrilling to the waterside view. I hope we can return someday.

Beautiful Views! Comfortable, Relaxing Retreat.

  • 5 of 5

We spent five days in this beautiful home with our two girls and dog. The views are fantastic, the house is comfortable with everything you need, the setting is quiet, relaxing and restful, yet conveniently located near beaches, hiking, the ocean, stores, etc. We loved watching the sun rise over Tomales Bay, listening to the birds singing in the garden, and admiring the moon shining on the water at night. We took morning and evening walks to the dog-friendly beach just down the street. The cottage was an extra bonus, as our girls loved setting up the wooden train set, playing games, and reading in their own special place (with equally beautiful views). We loved our stay and look forward to returning.
