Gorgeous 1926 3-story iconic brick farm house on 18 acres with great views
Tom and Amii are happy to share their farmhouse and property. Tom grew up on a large farm in North Dakota. He teaches high school history and Colorado studies. He has climbed Long’s Peak and seen Colorado from the top of a 14er. Amii is a photographer and the farm manager. She grew up in Boulder and brings with her the values for nourishing the land and enjoying the benefits of country life enjoyed naturally. And that includes a horse—of course!
Amii purchased this Farmhouse in 2013
Why Amii chose Eaton
It is not often guests have the chance to experience a well-preserved historic home and working farm like this one. Tom and Amii have worked to bring the property and farmstead back to life, planting pastures and trees, bringing in livestock and animals, nourishing the soil and protecting the wetlands. Their goal is to share this amazing place with many guests, whether it be via home and room rentals, hosting events, or providing farm products and tours. They are also working to get the home and property on the historic registry.
What makes this Farmhouse unique
This beautiful prairie-style home was built by a railroad baron in 1926, who had the foresight to include wood floors throughout, built-ins, 3-brick-thick walls, and a full-sized bathroom. The acreage is truly unique, with wild areas, pastures, outbuildings, and a wonderful red barn. The home is set atop a hill and offers amazing views and solitude. It is located along the Great Western Trailway, which was originally the Great Western Railway. Enjoy the views of the mountains from our porch, the pastures and farm fields to the south, and the mature tree row as you drive in. Take in the sounds of nature from our path along the ditch or enjoy our friendly farm animals.

We absolutely loved our stay last year, so we were so pleased it was available again this year! Lovely home, fresh eggs and honey to purchase, friendly owners.... The best. We hope to come back again next year!
Always our pleasure to get great to enjoy guests returning! The farm and home each work well for groups to gather as well as for each member to have a space inside or out to settle in and call their own. The porch, the 4 patios, the sunroom, and our river walk. Perfect for a group like yours! Always enjoy you guys and can’t wait to see you again!
Gorgeous sunrises and sunsets
A lovely old farmhouse with all modern amenities. Beautiful views of farmland. We were here for the Australian Shepherd National competition in Greeley so did not have as much time as we wanted to enjoy the patio, garden and lawns. I loved having everything I needed to cook dinners when I was too tired to go out. My bed was super comfy. The large laundry room and excellent washer and dryer were a real plus. Amit welcomed us with a dozen farm eggs and to die for delicious honey ambrosia. We will miss our home away from home in Eaton, Colorado.
Beautifule and Peaceful
Loved staying at Eaton (Historic House). The owners were very accommodating, friendly, and nice. Had no problems at all. Everything we needed was there.
It was wonderful to get to host your sweet families during your softball tournaments. Our location works well for guests traveling within northern Colorado’s front range and southern Wyoming. You did a great job of enjoying zip lining, breweries, rafting, and time on the farm.
Thank you Amii for a great trip! Your beautiful home was close enough to Boulder and Fort Collins to easily attend commencement ceremonies, and far enough away to feel relaxed and out of the city. Everything was wonderful about the home- beds were comfortable, kitchen had everything one needed, bathrooms were convenient and very clean. We so appreciate the time with you to visit the animals and a history lesson of the farm. Hope we can find a reason to visit again!
Well said. We feel the same way and love hearing guests' appreciation for our convenient yet relaxing location. This property is such a gem--as are families like yours who travel from SD, FL, DE, and all points of CO to gather on our sweet farm to support and take pride in the accomplishments of others. It was wonderful sharing time and laughing at our horse, pigs, chickens, cow, and goat kids with you all. We look forward to hosting you again in our home or maybe a larger event.
Excellent place to stay! Loved it!
Our family loved staying here! The house was beautiful and spacious, and there was plenty of room outside to play games or just enjoy the beautiful Colorado scenery. The owners were extremely accommodating and took care of every need. We will definitely stay here again!
It was wonderful to get to host our first UNC grad group. The timing was amazing with the lawn lush green and the crabapples spectacular. I would recommend future guests consider early May for blooms and goat cuddling. Great meeting you all and sharing farm history--yours and ours.
Thank you for supporting our farm through your stay.
A spacious and quiet retreat in a luxurious country setting
The farmhouse is well furnished, comfortable, perfectly suited our needs for a quiet spot for reunion and a base from which to travel to see the eclipse totality. Our hosts are pleasant, helpful, and always ready for kids questions about farm operations. They supplied us with a dozen eggs each morning. Overall this was a heartwarming, comforting experience priced exactly correctly!
We fully enjoyed your 3 generations of family and were pleased to get to share our farm, animals, and its elegant solitude. We have been truly blessed with travelers like you all who are amazingly grateful, kind, and generous.
Travel towards the cities for urban fun but return to the country to relax. For a fancy meal out, you won't regret making reservations with top-rated Chef Jason's Chimney Park Bistro or Hearth in Windsor just 10 minutes away. Take day trips to Horsetooth Reservoir, Loveland, or Estes Park, or enjoy Colorado's world class skiing, mountain biking and hiking, riding, food trucks and breweries.
Grover holds a sweet little rodeo on Father's Day weekend (Earl Anderson Memorial Rodeo). Greeley hosts the world's largest 4th of July rodeo, as well as concerts, a carnival and more. Cheyenne follows in late July with Cheyenne Frontier Days and Rodeo. We are close to roping arenas.
Birdwatching and enjoying the Pawnee Buttes and Pawnee National Grasslands should be on your to-do list. Balloonists fly nearby often during the summer.
For those in Colorado for educational reasons, the farm offers easy access to the University of Northern Colorado, Colorado State University, Aims Community College, and Front Range Community College. Stay awhile longer and finish your dissertation or novel, saturate yourself with poetry, or rediscover your art. Longer term rentals are available with studio space. Please inquire.
