5 star location but...

  • 5 of 5

Location by the water is excellent however the condo was in the back corner of the building which got a lot of loud road noise and had a very limited view. . The condo needs better furniture like a recliner chair, no place to sit except for a small couch .

Just Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

The condo was actually better than the pictures, inside and out. It was tastefully decorated and the kitchen was very well stocked. We did cook in and found all the equipment we needed. Ice maker works great!!

The bed was very comfy. There was plenty of closet space for our month's worth of clothes.

We loved having the washer and dryer right there in the condo!

The other residents were very friendly but not at all intrusive.

Do not rent this property.

  • 1 of 5

We rented the property for 3 months. Despite calling local representative several times, she was not there to greet us, showed up after we let ourselves in. Thermostat for the unit was locked; controlled by unit owner 900 miles away; to get temp change, owner required you to contact him, response time, sometimes hours! If you're in Motel 6 for 12 hours, you can change the temperature! Last straw was heater was pumping out the heat, and we had no way to shut off the heater! This situation is in direct violation of the terms and conditions set forth in VBRO, owner responsibilities, first page.

The place is furnished with second hand, junky used furniture and appliances. I had to glue the rungs back into the dining area chairs several times. Ice maker in fridge didn't work. Beat up washer/dryer unit, dryer quit working in the first month. Owner had no maintenance agreement in place, to get dryer fixed, I had to pay for repair, and wait to be reimbursed by owner.

No key for mailbox provided; owner did not have one. There for 3 months, we had our mail forwarded to us. It was up to us to contact other owners, and eventually locate a mailbox key.

Upon arrival, place was crawling with ants, invading everything, including my wife's pocket book! Owner's first response was to have local rep go to hardware store and provide us with ant traps. Totally ineffective. An exterminator was finally called, and after 3 visits and 3 weeks, the ants were dealt with. Obviously the owner had no pest control contract in place, which is so necessary in Florida.

Every lamp in the place had a 25 watt bulb. It was so dim at night we could not read. We had to go out and buy 3 way light bulbs for the 3 way lamps just so we could read. We also had to go out and buy waste baskets for bedroom and living room, and hooks to hang clothes on in both bathroom and bedroom.

We are a retired couple in our late 60's, both with advanced degrees, and have rented several times in Dunedin, with great experiences,,, until this time. While we loved the location and enjoyed our interactions with the great people also staying at the Victoria, we would never rent this unit from this owner again. We found the owner unresponsive, belligerent and incompetent. Don't rent this place!!!!
