This is the real Ireland where cattle graze peacefully by the sea and the signs are in Gaelic. Its hard to believe that places like this exist anymore....looks like it is part of a movie set.It quickly became home base for us either to explore Kerry,or recently, more ofton when tired of being on the road, just to stay home and hike the trails without ever having to drive anywhere.
The cottage is both cozy and roomy with a modern kitchen, fireplace and three bedrooms. It is always very clean and the owners are exceptionally accommodating. In short it is a jewel of a place and a place that will create Irish memories for a lifetime.I feel it is my home when I am in Ireland and look forward to coming back
Suantra cottages is a home away from home in one of the most beautiful locations in all of Ireland. We met the owner briefly but mostly dealt with her daughter Sharon who is just a wonderful person. Incredibly welcoming, very caring for our comfort and needs and gave us very good information to make the visit so much more worthwhile. We were there a week and it was magical, it is very relaxing and peaceful but within a very close distance to Ballyferriter for pubs, a short drive to Dingle, plus the walks around the area are just stunning beyond words. The cottage was just perfect for my husband and I and could easily have fit a couple more, but the other cottages available would make it a perfect place for a large group to vacation with. We had everything we needed and the pictures are true to the set up of the location. Very cosy and quaint and clean. But you really can't do justice in a photo to the beauty of the location. There is a lovely 5 min walk to Clogher beach as well as fantastic walk by the Blasket Island visitor center, which is a short drive away. The pubs close by are very friendly with good food and music. We traveled a month in Ireland and stayed in many different locations and this was our favorite place of all and if you want to make people who live in Ireland jealous, tell them you stayed here. We cannot wait to take another trip to the Dingle Peninsula and stay at Suantra I would recommend this location to all my friends and family.
My husband and I spent a week in one of the cottages, and have just reserved a three-week return trip this coming Spring. The Dingle Peninsula has some of the most magnificent scenery on earth, and Suantra Cottages are nestled right in the heart of it. There are spectacular walks and hikes directly from the cottage door, with the beautiful Clogher Beach just across the road. As a painter and photographer, there could not have been a more perfect spot for me! Dingle town, with all its pubs, shops and charm, is just a 15-minute drive from the cottages, and Ballyferriter, just 5 minutes. The cottages are simple, warm, immaculate and cozy, and have everything you could need or want for a self-catered stay. The beds are comfortable, kitchen very well-equipped, and there's a washer/dryer available. Also the Internet connection is astonishingly good! but the view from the front door alone, is worth the price of admission!
The property owner, Phil, is lovely, and did everything and more to make our stay memorable. She lives nearby and has a wealth of information about the area that she's pleased to share. We cannot wait to get back to this magical place!
My wife and I have just returned from a week at Suantra Cottage and we had a wonderful time there. I like to indulge in some landscape photography and my wife likes going out walking and Suantra is a great place for these pursuits, being set in the midst of a stunning coastal landscape. The cottages are great value, and are very comfortable with plenty of space. The week we were there (23rd - 31st May) was untypically cold for the time of year and we put on the fire each evening but this also made it very homely. Our hostess Phil is a wonderfully friendly lady and helped make our stay completely trouble free. Balyferriter is a five minute drive and Dingle only fifteen minutes away, so you won't be short of anything. We are definitely hoping to return next year
The house was perfect. Clean and comfortable, good WiFi and great views and good walking in any direction. Dingle is beautiful and this is a great spot to base a trip from. I I get back to Dingle for vacation I would definitely stay again.
PS - An Canteen restaurant was incredible. I had lamb a dozen times during my trip and they had the best.
we loved our time out at your beautiful place from September 20th to October 2nd.
Congratulations first to your website: the fantanstic pictures and the descriptions going with them, really caught our attention. We already fell in love with the beautiful spot without ever having seen it. So we were able to really look forward to getting there after having our booking confirmed!
What´s best, we didn`t get disappointed: An uncomplicated arrival, a nice and well equipped house, a save garden for our 5-year-old with little robin and other birds to be spotted and the cows as our next-door-neighbours.
Every so often I found myself going round the house or looking out of each window to watch the everchanging Irish sky and light.
Really nice short walks to one stony bay and to the beach with sand, stones, shells and great waves - what more do you need, when the weather is as fine as it was?
And still there are plenty of things do discover without having to drive long distances.
For me it was my 7th time in Ireland, including an one-and-a-half-year´s stay. One of the farmers around was quite right saying "14 years away from Ireland is too long!". So the place was well chosen and it was good to be back and my family just loved the country, too.
Missing the sound of the waves and the cliffs as heard and seen from your cottage.
Thanks a lot and God bless!
