What a gem! This open and airy, 2,000 plus sq. ft. “Arts a Crafts” style home is bright, warm, and located in a quiet family neighborhood, close to Downtown Asheville.
Uptown Cottage was a very nice house that is big enough to accommodate my whole family (7 of us) yet, it retains a cozy feel. We really enjoyed the screened porch and spent many hours out there. The location is very convenient; you can be anywhere in 5 or 10 minutes. You could walk or bike downtown (but, you'll probably choose not to walk, it's a pretty good stroll, couple miles).
Note, the house is nestled in a crowded neighborhood and children play in the driveway. So, take extra care when driving. Also, if you have a large vehicle, be prepared to maneuver in somewhat close quarters. That said, the neighbors are very nice and the kids are not a problem. I'm just saying be vigilant when you're in an automobile.
We would stay there again should we have similar need for a place in Asheville.
We really enjoyed renting this house. We had a great time. We wanted a weekend for shopping and going downtown to visit. What a great experience! It was so easy to use Uber for a ride into the city. We had four ladies in our group and it accommodated us well. It was definitely nice and clean! Great location! We will definitely come back.
Uptown cottage was the perfect locale for our family weekend in Asheville! It was very important to us to have three full bathrooms and first full floor accessibility as a master suite option. UC gave us great space for a "both sets of parents meeting" weekend. It was so nice to have some split level separation! The house is set itself is super spacious, nice and in a great location for and an Uber pickup to local restaurants, bars and breweries. It was definitely the right choice!!!
2nd verse, same as the first. We returned to Uptown Cottage for a second time and it was as good as we remembered. Asheville has so much to offer and this cottage is convenient for everything. We had 8 adults in our group and the size was perfect. The open living room and screened in porch gave us plenty of room to relax between eating amazing meals all over Asheville. Also, having three full bathrooms made it easy for everyone to get ready at the same time. The drive downtown is at most 5 minutes and less to the Grove Park Inn. The Biltmore is just a little farther, 10-15 minutes away. The house itself is updated, modern, and in great shape. It definitely feels like a home more than a rental house. Our group hopes to make this an annual trip to Asheville and we'll always head for the "Uptown Cottage" first!
we rented this house for a family get together and we had a wonderful time. The house is extremely clean and well equipped. The home was very comfortable for all of us and had great gathering areas for dinners and breakfast together. One of the best parts was the neighbors. they are lovely people and their little ones played and played with our kids, even sharing their toys. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star rating is because parking is a little tricky. There's room for about 3 cars so if you're going with a large group you might want to car pool.
Four couples rented the house for a getaway weekend. The house was roomy and held a crowd comfortably. Friday evening we stayed in. We started with cocktails on the front porch and then cooked dinner. The kitchen was well equipped and the dining room table seated all eight of us comfortably. Saturday we walked into to town and enjoyed the day exploring the shops and restaurants. We had dinner out that evening. If you are foodie, Asheville is a a real treat! We attended the Darius Rucker concert that night and all agreed the US Cellular Center is a great venue for a concert. All in all a great place to stay and the folks at the property management company were great to work with as well.
Downtown Asheville with all of its activities, sights, restaurants, & attractions. The Biltmore Estate, & the Blue Ridge Parkway. The River Arts District, hiking, biking, and all sorts of outdoor activities, nestled in the Blue Ridge mountains.
