This cute little cottage has two bedrooms and 1 bath, with a living room and kitchen and is all on one level (no basement), with off-street parking. The neighborhood (about 3.5 miles north of downtown Seattle) is quiet (on a dead-end street) and within walking distance of buses and restaurants. The house is furnished with all new furniture (mostly Euro-styled), including a queen-size bed in the master bedroom and a double-size futon/coach in the 2nd bedroom/study. The kitchen is fully equipped, including an espresso machine. Most of the appliances (washer/dryer, gas range, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher) are new and whole place has been renovated within the past couple of years. It has a gas fireplace, with forced air gas heating and A/C. There is high-speed internet with a wireless router with cable and phone outlets in both bedrooms and living room. The yard is fully fenced and landscaped (with a pond and water fountain), and has a great view (to the west) of Magnolia, Queen Anne, & Ballard with water and mountains. The living room and master bedroom have French doors to the back-yard (and view), with a covered patio off the bedroom, and includes a barbeque and fire-pit.

We are a professional couple with (almost) grown children. We have lived in the Seattle area for more than 25 years.
Peter Myler purchased this cottage in 2012
We fell in love with the great water and mountain view from this cute little cottage and hope to down-size and move here full-time within the next few years.
Quiet, conventient and affordable location, close to funky Fremont and newly invigorated Ballard, and only 15 minutes from downtown.
Very nice and cozy. Can't beat the view. We stayed three nights when we were in town for my sons wedding. Owner is very responsive. I would definitely stay again.
The property has an excellent location central for access to communities north of the lake and with quick commute to downtown and Capital Hill.. The house is clean, well-maintained and well-appointed. The views are breathtaking.
The owner responds quickly to any request and is very helpful and accommodating.
Lots to see and do nearby.
Comfortable beds. Well equipped kitchen.
We had a lovely stay despite the terribly hot weather at the beginning of our trip (the A/C unit died while we were in transit and could not be fixed during our trip). Peter was very gracious and bought fans and assisted with cooling the home during the heat wave. There is a lovely garden and view from the backyard. The home is child-friendly and there are several parks for children within 2-3 minutes drive from the home. The beds and furnishings are comfortable, the kitchen well-stocked, and the linens very nice. We would definitely stay here again.
We enjoyed this cottage on a cul de sac near the Seattle Zoo. It have been updated nicely and is very clean and well maintained. we had BBQ in the large backyard and enjoyed morning coffee looking over Ballard and the distant Olympic Mountains. Definitely would stay again.
Was wonderful to stay here for our daughter's University of Washington grad. weekend. Loved the view, loved walking out to eat and especially loved having our furry friend with us. Will definitely be back on a less hectic weekend.
Palatine Cottage is located in the Ballard/Fremont/Phinney Ridge neighborhood, about 4 miles north of downtown Seattle. It is within walking distance of many restaurants and Woodland Park Zoo. There is easy bus access to downtown (Pike Place market), Seattle Center (Science Center, EMP) and the University of Washington.
