House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths (Sleeps 6)
Comfortable home with 3 spacious bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, fenced yard, inside laundry, and great porches both front and back showcasing the magnificant red mountains. This really is a wonderful place to stay.
You will enjoy great views in all directions. Hiking into Tom's Canyon is just a short walk from the house. A walk into town will take you about 15 minutes. You will have access to the gym, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, jacuzzi and a dog park for your furry friends.
The house accommodates up to 6 persons in spacious rooms with comfortable beds. The master bedroom, which is at opposite end of home from other bedrooms, has a private bathroom with double sinks, a garden tub, a walk in shower and a walk in closet. The french doors give access to the yard and a stunning view of red rock. A separate full bathroom is provided for the two guest bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king size bed. In the guest bedrooms you will find a queen size bed and two twin sized beds.
The large covered patio offers great views of the surrounding red rock while protecting you form the sun or rain. The yard is completely fenced off with a 5 feet tall fence to protect children and pets. The house has security screen doors, which allow you to enjoy the cool, crisp night air as it lulls you to sleep.
Your well behaved pets are welcome and if you are volunteering at the famous Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, you may have sleepover animals from the Santuary stay also. We ask that your pets not be left alone in the house, so a large dog crate will be provided for your pet while you are gone.
we (four adults) rented for nine nights and loved the house. we decided on this rental due to the space and the fact that they allowed us to bring home a best friends sleepover dog. we used the private dog park several times and we were the only ones in it every time. the only small issue we had during the stay was that this is a "dark sky community" and the lights in the back are very dim and made it hard to see but, a very nice neighbor brought over a motion detecting light we could borrow for when the dog needed to go out. there is a flashlight in the closet but, we had overlooked it.
if you like chinese food there is a really good restaurant in town called fusion. they have vegan chicken fried rice that was out of this world. t-time is also a shop on the main street the features kanab souvenirs and the owners daniel and elva will go out of their way to help you design your own t-shirt from a photo that you may have taken if that is something you want to do. we made several of our dogs from best friends and loved each one.
we really can't say enough good things about this house or linsley sweet for making the entire rental procedure so easy.
without hesitation we would recommend the red rock canyon retreat to anyone looking for a home with a lot of space in a quiet neighborhood that is truly a fabulous value too.

The house was more than we expected. It had everything we needed and more. The location for zion, Bryce and best friends animal santuary was convenient. Beautiful surrounding. Very comfortable to come back to after a day in nature. I would stay here again.
We enjoyed our stay at the Red Rock Canyon Retreat. The house and location were perfect for National Park hopping. They were very accommodating to our furry four legged family member. The house was in great condition and the front yard was beautiful. The backyard had a few weeds. I'm assuming it was due to the fact the house was booked all summer and they had not had a chance to get back there. We love this property and have already recommended it to several friends and family members. You can't go wrong for the location and price. I'm sure we will stay there again. Loved it!
We enjoyed so much about the place: the location is good, the view is gorgeous, the garage is great to have, the a/c was fabulous (and very necessary the week we were there!), and there is plenty of room to cook/eat/sleep/lounge around/whatever. We were a little disappointed the the place was a little bit run down. I think it just needed a little attention, but there were a few issues. The big one was the dishwasher: it was almost falling out from under the counter. It was able to be used, but very touchy--sometimes it just kept running and running and beeping to let you know it was done, other times (if you were careful) it ran just fine. But it seemed a little dangerous because the whole thing shifted in its space. We made sure not to stand to close or directly in front of it. Not a lot of cooking supplies (like pots and pans, bowls, grilling equipment, etc) so that made for some inventive thinking! The dining room chairs were a little 'shaky'....Not even (so we used some cardboard) and some didn't seem too sturdy, so we made sure to use the sturdiest for our seating at meal time.
Otherwise the furnishings were pretty nice. The beds are all very, very firm, so make sure that you like that type for sleeping.
We had plenty of towels and tissues and toilet paper, etc, but the cupboards aren't stocked with much. That could just be because the previous renters had used everything up! It was nice to have an outdoor eating area and a gas grill. There is a community pool in the division, but quite a long walk, so we ended up driving to the pool.
It was wonderful having everything all on the same level--no steps for us old timers :)
I don't have much to compare this to, since we have only stayed at one other VRBO offering besides this one. But I'm sorry to say that there was probably more about the place that we didn't like than things that we DID like. Sorry!
The price wasn't too bad, and we did get a Best Friends discount because we were staying there while volunteering at Best Friends.
My husband and I recently stayed at the Red Rock Canyon Retreat for a week with our 2 kids (age 14 and 8). The house was beautiful. I have rented several homes over the years through Homeaway/VRBO at different locations in the US as well as the Caribbean. This was the best house so far. This house was extremely clean and had all the essentials already stocked. Linens, soap, shampoo, garbage bags, dishwasher pods, paper towels, toilet paper - even a full rack of spices! We shopped at Glazier's market for food for the week and their prices were excellent and the staff was very friendly. The town of Kanab was very quaint and all of the people are very welcoming to out of towners. My kids loved the pool area and the 3 times we went we were the only people there. We also spent an afternoon at the community pool/park about 4 blocks away. The kids loved that too. There was a lazy river, kids splash area, lap pool and even a water slide.
Our day trips included Zion and the North Rim (both an easy driving distance from the house) and we also rented a boat one day and spent the entire day on Lake Powell tubing and visiting the Rainbow Bridge. Although it was very hot out, the water was perfect and the lake is gorgeous. My daughter's favorite part of the trip was the day we spent at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary. What a wonderful place this is. It's so close to the house! The only thing we didn't get to do is go to Bryce Canyon. Although I was really looking forward to it, I wound up getting a pretty severe sinus infection and we had to cancel our day trip there - but we will definitely go next time!
I cannot say enough good things about this home, the location, or the amenities. It was a wonderful trip and staying at such a beautiful place made it even more memorable for my family. We hope to be back again in the next couple of years.
Thank you for everything!
We experienced a wonderful vacation at Red Rock Canyon Retreat. The house was beautiful and perfect for our family. Plenty of room after long days of hiking and the beds were excellent for a good nights sleep. It was a great location for seeing Bryce, Zion and the North End of the Grand Canyon!
